Umm... since when? The sentence (AD comes with all of their kits.) is ambiguous. In context following the comment about Toontrack, the meaning is something like this: When you get a Toontrack expansion, you have to have pay $149 or so to get on the ground floor. However, when you get an AD2 expansion, it includes the basic AD2 software. See also: Alone "AD comes with all of their kits" implies something like this: When you get AD2, it includes all of their kits with the purchase price.

Yup. The previous file I downloaded 3 days ago was named FIRST. The new one is named FIRST+FREE. However, I am still getting the <Unlicensed IR> issue with the ReMatrix SOLO Presets, which used to work.

Can't activate Cakewalk BandLab through assistant?
User 905133 replied to Gary Edelman's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You might want to try updating to the current version. A lot has changed since 2018.09. I am on 2024.07 build 108.*** Sec. I will try to get a link to the post with the latest version of CbB.** BTW, I just logged out of CbB and logged back in as per @OutrageProductions advice and I successfully logged back in via the built-in "Sign in to Bandlab" link under Help. **UPDATE: Not sure if you have the Cakewalk Product Center. If so, that might be the best way to try updating. ***CLARIFICATION: The Cakewalk Product Center verifies that I am "Up-to-date" with the latest version 2024.09 build 108. Not sure why mine says 2024.07. I will sort that out for my own PC. Regardless, build 108 looks like the latest version of CbB available to us. -
I did a VST Rescan (I have Preferences set to Manual Scan), and (1) the ReMatrix Player looks different than it did before the scan, (2) some of my other freebies are missing, and (3) some of the strips for freebies that are there work but some say <Unlicensed IR>. Not sure if its related to other software I might have on my PC.

I downloaded FIRST and added to ReMatrix Player** several hours ago, but just tested it. You are right! The player is working for other presets, but on the strips for the FIRST presets, it says <Unlicensed IR>. **Update: I just tried adding the file while in my DAW (as opposed to doing that just in the player). Still no go.

Sorry I didn't realize you were still on a roll when I posted Five Bridges as a association for the 59th Street Bridge. I was going to take it down, but it seems that no one noticed it. I might still take it down and save it for another occasion. Carry on.

Actress Teri Garr, dies aged 79 from multiple sclerosis.
User 905133 replied to Old Joad's topic in The Coffee House
Never knew she had MS. Garr gave us a number of memorable characters and I recall seeing her pop up in roles I never knew about. For me, her performance as the ditz in Star Trek was quintessential ditziness. Her performance in Tootsie always stuck with me, too. I remember a number of times thinking, "That sounds like/looks like Teri Garr!" looking it up and sure enough it often was her. I don't know that she was ever a BIG STAR, but whenever I heard/saw her, I thought her character was spot on. -

Instrument Definition with a VST?
User 905133 replied to Bill Campbell's topic in Instrument Definitions
Thanks for enumerating the steps you used! Not a top priority for me since I haven't created instrument definition files in a long time. But I am curious to see if the steps will be useful for other types of workflows / projects I have explored in the past. -
Thanks for chiming in. Good suggestion for those with issues to contact support. With the original bundle, Tier 4 would have only added 6 libraries I didn't have (as opposed to 12 in the revised Tier 4 bundle), and they would not have been my first choice. The $20-minimum tier had 3 and the $15-minimum tier had 1. Not complaining, mind you, just lamenting that the change wasn't announced sooner here (a forum that has a number of loyal IK consumers) and I missed it.

I am not going to comment on your questions (I'll leave that to others to chime in with their opinions), but I'd really suggest you look here (Sonar 2024 Overview).

The beginning of the "Included plug-ins" sections is on Page 1477 of this Reference Guide . TTS-1 (multi-timbral synth based on Roland's Sound Canvas ROMPlers) is no longer included. However, there are other audio and MIDI FX plug-ins that might interest you. As for MeldaProduction's MFreeFXBundle, as of about 2 weeks ago it included MDelay. As others have noted, there are many other delay/echo plug-ins as well. Good advice here! Two two minor additions: (1) Sometimes a plug-in maker or a third-party vendor will offer a paid plug-in for free as a promotion. (2) Sometimes a plug-in maker or a third-party vendor will offer a paid plug-in for an unusually low price. As a fan of delay/echo effects, I will sometimes pick up plug-ins in either of these categories after a test drive of a demo or watching the manufacturer's demo/intro video.

Yesterday (2024-10-23), when I realized I could get my 12 missing libraries for the Tier 4 price, I went to the HB site and saw the offer had expired. In researching "IK Pro Sound Suite" today, I found another a post in another forum that references an e-mail the HB team evidently sent out. I am quoting it here since it might be of interest to purchasers of the Suite: I find it interesting that this was posted 14 days ago (2024-10-10, by my calculations). The way I read this, the letter was intended for people who had already purchased Tier 4 of the bundle.

In the past when we have seen clarifications posted in the forum like this ^^^, even if it took some time to get straightened out, I am pretty sure that IK came through. I'd give them a chance to make good on this.

Nice to see Cakewalk by Bandlab on the list of actively tested host applications. Running my most recent XLN Installer self-updated the XLN Installer (to 4.3.0). Windows then ran the antimalware service followed by the compatibility telemetry checker. I only had 3 items to update, but the update button worked. The greyish tan on beige theme is part of the modernization. Not really an improvement for my aging eyes over the older high contrast settings. Probably won't affect people with younger eyes, but might bother others who prefer to avoid light themes. I probably should have installed the demo first. 😞 PS: The ratio of interlinear spacing to text size seems to be greater, in effect making the text seem smaller compared to the size of the UI pane. Scaling can be used to make everything proportionally bigger.

Lost ability to drag Console to 2nd monitor
User 905133 replied to Chris Rydstrom's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thanks for the update. It took a little while for me to find how to get that icon, but I did. And sure enough, in that mode floating windows/panes can only be moved within the main desktop on Monitor 1. I almost never use that mode, so I explored it a little. By dragging the main desktop so it spans both my monitors, I was able to move floating windows/panes anywhere around the Cakewalk desktop. Based on my personal workflow preferences I probably won't be using the "desktop-spread-over-multiple-monitors" mode (not sure what the official name is), but it is good to know how to use it. So, thanks for taking the time to update the issue. BTW, you might want to add [SOLVED] to the subject/topic so if others have a similar issue they will know to look at the thread for your solution. PS: Just to clarify: I use Monitor 1 for the Cakewalk desktop (full screen). -
Oh well; too late for me. I will just have to let my subscription expire. I'll keep this in mind, though in case the offer comes back.

Thanks. Good to know / be reminded that the default behavior for new synth insertions can be changed to "Enable MIDI Output if Available" for those users with music-making workflows that favor having it on. Since I enable it manually only in the few cases where I need it, I am glad the default option is unchecked. I have been working on some synth performance/recording modalities that might eventually make more extensive use of synth-generated MIDI. So, when the time comes and I "Set it and Forget it," It will be good to have this setting to my debugging checklist.

Too late for me, but this is good to know for people that have version 2. Maybe I am mis-remembering or maybe it was added later, but I have a memory of either being told or reading that version 2 didn't have the ability to use the FX section to process audio coming from another source. That's why I didn't get it. Thanks for the correction.

Display Scale Slider in Display Properties Visible in Sonar but Not CbB?
User 905133 replied to Stephen Power's question in Q&A
Simplest explanation: These must be new features that weren't available in CbB. At one point we were told, no new features will be added to CbB. Maybe you missed that? -
Over the years I have also had multiple MIDI notes. In all of those cases, it was due to pilot error (recording MIDI notes from multiple devices / ports / paths). For me the good thing about this issue is it can be fixed. Even once I started using CbB and had forgotten how I used to solve the problem, once I figured out the cause, the solution came back to me. In a way, it's like riding a bicycle--I still remember how, but at my age, some things are not as safe to do without taking precautions. 😉 Thanks for this tip. If I ever get the multiple notes problem again, I will add this to my diagnostics routine (if it's not something I have already been checking, but just forgot about). Just remembered: I used to have both a usb midi interface and a 5-pin din connection to my computer. So, that can also be a cause to the multiple-notes issue. Again, it's pilot error and the solution is easy--avoid recording the same midi data from multiple devices / ports (hardware and / or software). In case its not clear, I am not asking for help solving a problem; I am just trying to add some additional information in hopes that it helps others understand possible causes and solutions. Yup!!!! Been there; done that!!!!
