See above: "I figured out what was happening. I would open a project that had tracks set to a synth I no longer have installed. I would then add Cakewalk TTS-1 as a synth. The tracks would have a bank number that doesn't exist for that synth (like bank "1" instead of bank"15488 Preset Normal 0"). As soon as I change to a proper bank setting, the note names appear." What bank is TTS-1 set to?

TTS-1 Vanishing Instruments?
User 905133 replied to Michael McBroom's topic in Instruments & Effects
Not sure this info helps, but I have all normal oohs and ahhs showing up where they should (in the track itself and the plug-in panel). -
Withdrawn. Post was more of a question related to the capabilities and functioning of the plug-in and only implied a possible limitation that someone considering getting the plug-in might be interested in.

Not sure about this specific issue, but there are more recent comments related to work being done for a major revision to integration with Bandlab in this thread.

Have you tried support here? I assume that with all the details they have listed there, customer support would know. UPDATE: Evidently the place to ask is in their KVR Forum, not support. Maybe its the CEO who posts and answers questions there?

With tinnitus it sounds like vinyl crackle to me.

I have never done anything with MPE (Midi Polyphonic Expression), but I thought the MPE Spec enabled gear that supported MPE to map controllers on a note-by-note basis. Pure speculation on my part, but if that's true and you don't have an MPE controller, but the soft synth supports MPE, maybe there's a way to insert the proper midi data to make it happen. Just a guess here.

Sounds a little like a cover I heard by The Beach Boys of Hully Gully (originally by the Olympics). (From the YouTube post: This is the record that was copied nearly note-for-note--but with new lyrics--in 1961 by The Marathons (aka The Vibrations) as “Peanut Butter.”)

One of the things I like about the Q&A Section is that users can vote for the suggestion(s) they feel is best, is the method they prefer, etc.

Did you try what tecknot said? If not, try what Nigel Mackay said.

Cakewalk Professional for Windows 2.01 looks like a "collector's item."

UPDATE: I cannot get the Event Manager settings to be saved/recalled with Workspaces. Not sure if I have done something wrong, or if they don't get stored because the Event Manager settings are not UI settings. If they are not, it might be nice to have some user definable presets somewhere--in the Event Manager or elsewhere. Also, couldn't save the settings with screensets. So, probably not considered UI savable settings.

Sometimes what works on my PC doesn't work on others' PCs (and vice versa), but for me track meters can be hidden based on meter/track type--not per individual track. I also tested having just the track playback meters showing. That worked for me. The meters were hidden for tracks set to playback, but the meters were visible if the track was armed to record. Maybe its just my PC that works this way? Have you tried using Console > Options > Meters (see above)? The only thing I haven't gotten to work like this is the midi track meter--but I will try again. ** PS: Earlier today I did test saving a personal workspace to reflect which meters I want and that also worked for me. Again, I have had things work on my PC that didn't work the same way for others. If it will help with your personal workflow, I recommend tackling the Workspace learning curves. **I tried a few more times and was not able to get the meter on midi tracks to be hidden.

Just trying to clarify here. Are you suggesting a feature request like this? Personally, I like and use meters, but I can understand reasons for wanting them all off. In my case, visual activity uses CPU power and sometimes causes unwanted audio artifacts by pushing overall CPU usage (and maybe system interrupts) too high on my particular PC. I have other workarounds, but if there were such a global feature, I'd probably use it on some occasions. That being said, if I could find where to turn off the midi meters, I'd try creating a customized Workspace to hide all of the meters at once.

In my experience with, this is untrue. But we all have different experiences. Up until Windows 10 version 1909, my E-Mu [Creative] drivers and software worked. This includes working with SONAR/Cakewalk. As noted above, this conforms to my experience.

Simple idea How Matrix view can be used as sampler
User 905133 replied to solarlux's topic in Feedback Loop
Thanks for the reply. I am not sure why it didn't work with recorded audio until I converted it. However, when I dragged an audio recording from my media browser, it worked the way you showed. I did not have to convert it because CbB did the conversion when I dragged it from the browser to make a track. I will play with it some more. Cool tip. UPDATE: I tried it again and now it works without converting the audio track to a clip. No idea why it didn't work the first several times. -
Simple idea How Matrix view can be used as sampler
User 905133 replied to solarlux's topic in Feedback Loop
I tried this on a piece of audio over and over and it didn't work. To get it to work I first had to convert a section of the audio track into a groove clip. Then it worked. -

From your description it seems to me that the ACT apparatus prevented the note data from going to the PRV keyboard animation apparatus. If we had a midi data flow chart we might know (1) if there is something else causing the behavior (and if so, what), (2) if the behavior is by design, or (3) if it is a bug (along with other odd behaviors which no one seems to know if they are intentional or bugs).

I only get those "great photos" when Windows 10 refuses to shut down when I click "Shut Down" (or Update and Shut Down) but instead goes to Standby / Sleep mode. Seriously, now that I think about it, the appearance of those photos are probably an alarm that Windows has changed my preferences and I need to go through my checklists yet again. I totally get that Microsoft wants to do things like rearrange my desktop icons, change display settings, undo my HDD extended partition configuration, reset my power settings, etc. However, I do not have to like it. Maybe I will check out the Collections sometime.

One of the issues I have had with Edge over the years is that MS will change my preferred default Browser to Edge without any regard to my personal preferences. (Surprise!) I found that by uninstalling Edge, this stopped. @msmcleod Are you saying that if I want to avoid problems with Cakewalk I should stop uninstalling Edge? If so, is it OK to keep changing my default browser (or will that mess with Cakewalk, too)? Thanks.

JMO: (1) the semantic content of the various scenes within the trailer and the affective content of the score segments support each other to a high degree and (2a) you hit inflection points very well and (2b) the use of musical changes (including pauses) are used very effectively to underscore the drama of the spliced scenes. Not sure what kind of feedback you are looking for, but maybe these casual impressions will help. There is much in academic and popular literature related to music as a medium of communication from a multitude of perspectives.
