Does Anybody Know What Asset Files Are?
DeeringAmps replied to Johnbee58's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There is that, but @Glenn Stanton is actually correct. @Johnbee58 you can safely delete the asset file, or just leave it there. EDIT: John check the folders you have uploaded, I suspect that they contained the "assets" folder (or was it an extension; I did a quick check and can't find any old projects that still have them). If this is happening only in the projects that contained the "assets" folder (or extension) then you can safely delete them before uploading to IDrive. One more EDIT: Did a deeper dive. it is an extension! IE: project_name.cwp.assets; you can safely delete it! The project was dated 2015. X2, maybe X3 back them? If Steve Cook was still around, he would have set us straight by now; we miss you @scook! t -
Cakewalk now exclusively available through BandLab Membership
DeeringAmps replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I totally understand, and it appears that locking CbB is not eminent; stay with it! I am locked into the eco system and feel it is in my/our own best interest to support the move forward. I could use Reaper IF I had to. Why, Sonar is alive and well, and is the “best” fit for me. Would I purchase Sonar? Yup, in a New York minute! I would have purchased the Backstage Pass when it was 30% off, but for some reason because I already had a monthly subscription it wouldn’t work. Vie La vie… t -

@Dave Maffris I think your best answer is in that thread. HTH, t -
@Sent4th Do you have the BandLab Membership? If not, it will not activate. Pretty simple really, Cakewalk Sonar is “pay to play”. $150 for a yearlong license, $15 a month if you prefer to “pay as you go”. HTH, t

Cakewalk SONAR beta testers questions:
DeeringAmps replied to tecknot's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I’ve been using Sonar since it’s release to the public as a part of BandLab Membership; back in March. Is Sonar, a “quantum leap”; no. It’s just another step “forward” the same as each new update to CbB has been. There is a major shift in the interface, as it is now vector based. I commented early that it appeared “flat”; I compared it to Sonar 8.5. I’m used to it now. Evidently it “streamlines” the drawing of graphics and speeds things up. The bakers assure us it’s lighter and faster; they’re the experts. I’m sure that the beta testers all have signed NDA’s, that’s how these sort of things work. NO! However a “sign into BandLab” nag pops up, but that’s so you can use some online BL resources. I’ve never explored these and only sign in to “authorize” once a month (I opted for the $15 a month membership). Offline authorization is available. HTH, t -

no audio and stop playback not working
DeeringAmps replied to mark skinner's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I know this doesn't help, but my office rig is running Win 10 Home, so it updates itself all the time. I'm not having any issues in Sonar or CbB. Since a restore point got you back up and running something changed... t -
Try 48k. I’m suspecting an issue with the driver. t

It’s a plug-in 99% of the time. Bypass all and bounce or export. As David said above, if that works, then you can narrow down the culprit. I’m thinking there is something new in this project. HTH, t
-
"bounce to clip" doesn't bring up a dialog box for me, it just "applies" any edits I've made to the clip, or creates one continuous clip if a track is populated with numerous clips. When I bounce tracks, under "WHAT TO BOUNCE", I select "Source Category Buses". Of course, that ticks all buses and then I have to untick all but the MASTER. HTH, t

The download for Sonar by CakeWalk (SbC) is at the bottom of this page. SbC see pic below HTH, t Now I understand that @RexRed you are probably lamenting the fact that Sonar by CakeWalk has not had a "Grand Launch", well that's not happening yet; for whatever reason. BUT SbC is no longer in BETA, this is the program as it sits right now, available via BandLab's Backstage Pass. It will update periodically as CbB always has...

Marc, I direct my MASTER buss (which has all my “mastering” plugins) to the ARC buss (so named because I use IKM’s ARC correction) and the ARC buss is set to the UFX speaker outs. I also have a PHONES buss that has SonarWorks headphone correction (I use a send from the MASTER to feed the PHONES buss that is routed to the headphone amp). Mixes are bounced off the MASTER, so I never have to worry about “burning” in a correction. HTH, t

NEW Win install- Need CW install help please
DeeringAmps replied to Pathfinder's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@Pathfinder I think maybe folks are confused by your question. CakeWalk requires no samples. The DAW CakeWalk by BandLab will install itself to the C drive, as well it should. The CakeWalk Product Center will install Studio Instruments and Drum Replacer. Both of which do have samples. I installed Studio Instruments long ago and at that time I did use a mklink to put the samples on the "sample" drive. I'm not sure where Product Center wants to put it or the samples for Drum Replacer (I've never installed Drum Replacer). HTH, t You can find the link to The Product Center here. It will install CbB as well, you will need your username and password. -
Please do and let us know. t

Yeah, fatigue. It lasted several days before it started getting better. Just had to tough it out. Rest. It’ll get better. GWS t

Is there anything in this world like 'True Musicians'

FACT CHECK: Aretha Franklin Queen of Piano I won't even go into her songwriting credits. Not trying to call you out @Starship Krupa, but please, never take the Queen of Soul's name in vain. t
