Reaper has this feature, why can't I find this feature in Cakewalk? In the old days, you used to have to listen to your whole track for Melodyne to "record" your track. If Cakewalk had a "dry run" mode, I'm sure it would have been faster. I still have plugins that need to listen to the whole track to make it's math work correctly. Where you can have your VST plugins run thru the entire song without you listening? It would be a great thing to have so that if you need to have a plugin adjust itself for the entire song, you don't have to listen to it multiple times for the adjustment. For example: If I run the normalizer in analyze mode, in Cakewalk currently I have to listen to the whole song for it to adjust itself to the song: https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-thenormalizer/ You set the db of the track you want the volume to get set, and it will either gain + / - depending on what your track needs. It isn't A.I. You used to have to do the same thing with Melodyne, until it added ARA feature. In Reaper, I can run "dry run" in the Render menu, but I can't find "dry run" for Cakewalk. Dry run let's you "render the song without outputting it to a file" this allows your plugins to work 3x faster than normal listening mode. Other plugins I wish to run in "dry run" mode: Sonible Smart Limiter, iZotope RX modules, several different Waves Audio plugins, etc. Mainly benefits being able to adjust your plugins faster without having to listen to the whole song over and over again. Most of these plugins have an average or meter you can use to base your judgement on without having to "listen" to make the adjustments.

Currently I have to reload the instrument every time I make a change in the piano roll as it continues to make volume changes to the instrument where I can't figure out how to undo it! I literally have to reload the instrument with a new instrument just to hear it again!! Any ideas how to fix this issue??

The only issue I've had is the accuracy isn't very good.

I remember using it with Reaper with no issues. Haven't tried it in Cakewalk yet.

Melodyne by Celemony https://www.celemony.com/en/melodyne/melodyne-5-editions Cool Feature of using Melodyne with Cakewalk is the ability to turn any audio file into a tempo map for Cakewalk: https://youtu.be/M_SKmr_07Is?si=Y51gOq8ElQJEFSv3 Important reading / help (uses of Cakewalk & Melodyne): https://gaga.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Region_FX.04.html Anyhow, I've got the Studio version, so I have to look at what the different versions do... for what you need, Essential would work to show you the chord names. In order to see all your notes (like the different notes a guitar or piano plays), you'll need Melodyne Editor version. Check out the version editions in the above link. "Melodyne essential is the easy-access point of entry to Melodyne’s unique editing environment – with the option of upgrading to a larger edition at any time, for only the difference in the price of the two editions." - https://www.celemony.com/en/melodyne/melodyne-5-editions For just seeing the Chords on the top bar, I think all you need is Essential, but since I don't have that version, I can't say for sure. I've got the Sudio version myself, and never regretted it. Melodyne is a must have tool. ------------- If you want... you could send me your audio, and I'll send you back MIDI version of it (both the chords and the notes). That'll help you out, right? We could share files using Discord or if you have any other idea?

Reaper doesn't have Pwr-3 dithering.

Actually if you get Bandlab by Cakewalk right now before it goes paid, you'll have one hell of a DAW that's been fleshed out over 30+ years for free! It's a $500 value for free... get it before it goes paid again! Other than Cakewalk and Abelton Live, I don't know of any other DAW that has Pwr-3 dithering!

I don't think Audacity as a DAW. It is kinda like saying Goldwave is a DAW.

Presonus Revelator USB Mic with Studiolive Voice Processing for $59.99!
GTsongwriter replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I can get Ableton Live Lite if I wanted because of my recent Focusrite 2i2 purchase a month ago via Hitmaker Bundle. I just don't want any more DAWs.. I have both Reaper and Sonar. I was thinking of using that mic for gaming. -
For a long time, I was a FX VST buyer, thinking I had all the samples I ever need, until one day... I start working on Western Music and that changes everything! Now I'm hunting down a bunch of odd ball samples to create a really interesting song (with lyrics). This isn't going to be just an instrumental, it will be a full fledged song. I am so thankful for all of you whom have taken time out of your day to help assist me find samples that I could have never thought to find by myself! Thank you all!
