  1. Is there any unopened box of Cakewalk that doesn't require online authorization?
  2. The only current reason I want to use Sonar is for it's dithering ability. The old Sonar can do just that I love the new Sonar's ability to drag and drop a track into the tempo map, but I can just use Melodyne Studio to create a tempo map to export anyways.
  3. I own Sonar 8.5.3 and it doesn't require authorization every so often!
  4. I use a firewall. I don't let programs out to update on their own. I must setup a hole in my firewall for that program, IF, I want to update. I only update if I have problems with the software, not just because the developer found problems. If I do get problems and they aren't a huge deal for me...I don't worry about the update.
  5. Is there a way to find out how long your license is good for in Reaper other than knowing what it said before you bought it?
  6. It's crazy... every company, HorNet, Waves Audio, Native Instruments, etc all seem to be so focused on guitar plugins.. wtf? Is it guitar season?
  7. I really liked their stomps claps etc package, was considering getting this one, but now I have to choose to get this sell or to get a new banjo... The banjo from indiginus isn't on sell, so maybe this? I really wanted to create a hellish modern Western song next
  8. If they plan to sell a version that no longer requires authorization, I'm down for that. As long as I can buy it at the hobby price of $60 :). Come on, I don't make any money making music. It's a hobby only for me
  9. Time to buy Blue Cat Audio's Patchwork that would allow me to run VST3 in the old Sonar 8.5.3 and stop using Cakewalk newest as it's just a huge headache to constantly "re-authorize" every so often! Or I might go back to Reaper.
  10. Why in the world do we get plugins with spice names?? Next plugin will be called Pepper, then Oregano, Bay leaves, etc
  11. Thanks! Now I have two of these plugins.. So when the other is expired, I'll activate this one!
  12. So, being the Devil and all... I've had the A.I. paint me red for the music video, but sometimes it didn't understand RED: ^^ Western song completion ^^
  13. If you don't know what this feature is, then your missing out on a great production boosting feature! The ability for all your plugins to "dry run" thru the whole project gives you a fuller understanding of the ending LUFS, average EQ, any clipping you didn't catch before, etc. Plus, the "dry run" can be 3-4 times faster than realtime listening, which in turn makes you more productive. Since I've used Reaper, I can't find myself living without it. I've asked other Cakewalk users and they are baffled why I need it and say that feature doesn't exists in Cakewalk. I frequently used it for my plugins to adjust overall levels for the entire project. If I put my favorite "The Normalizer" plugin (I understand that Cakewalk includes this process, but I prefer my plugin) on any track, I set the target DB or LUFS and it will adjust based on what it hears. Dry running would help speed up this process faster than human ears. The plugin also has a "continuous" mode where it can adjust all the time based on if you change levels on a track or not. Currently I have to export the project and delete the exported file. A dry run feature would help me not have to worry about deleting a file each time I export. If Cakewalk adds this feature, it could incorporate a dry run button so that you can just press the button (which you can preset how it works in preferences...set up the dry run dithering options, but rate, khz, etc). I have Sonible Smart Limiter, and if I had a dry run feature, I could see all my levels for the finished product then make adjustments as needed. Having a Dry run feature would be indispensable feature to include. Nobody understands how precious this feature is until they use it elsewhere and miss it. Until Cakewalk adds this feature, I don't see Cakewalk as much of a value in the Mixing criteria. I'll probably just use it for Mastering, because I love the pwr-3 dithering capabilities.
  14. Ignore WHY I'm trying to find the DRY RUN feature in Cakewalk and just say if it exists or not? Can you Render the whole project without exporting it to a file in Cakewalk?
  15. When I visited years ago, Bandcamp was over saturated in the Hip-Hop genre all over the front page. There was no way my genres would ever see the front page, so I decided not to use them.
  16. You wonder why I usually post questions here, because there tends to be a lot of clueless people in the Q & A section. So, cheers! All the smart individuals exists in the Deals section. Probably, because they come from many different DAWs of life. Cakewalk only individuals are missing out on many features that other software DAWs have that if Cakewalk had, would make it more useful. I'm thinking that I should use Reaper to MIX, then MASTER in Cakewalk due to the dithering of pwr-3 that I love. Cakewalk mixing is a pain in the @ss without the "dry run" feature Reaper has. I am less productive with Cakewalk currently due to it missing that feature. I can't find any texts in Google or Bing, nothing anywhere, that the feature even exists in Cakewalk. So, IMHO, Cakewalk is probably best for Mastering, and to Mix in Reaper due to this missing feature.
  17. Why doesn't Cakewalk have "dry run" mode like Reaper does? Too many clueless people in Cakewalk don't understand this.. maybe y'all Reaper people can shine a better light on why dry run mode is so important.
  18. There seems to be a bunch of clueless people in the Q & A section. Can someone here shine more better light on them:
  19. This plugin was badly used as an example. Let's say you want to use the old Melodyne app again where you need to let it listen to the whole track in order so it can see the whole track. This is the reason I would need a "dry run" feature. To speed up this step by 3-4 times faster than listening in realtime.
  20. The only reason I was thinking of going Studio One was Atmos ability, other than that I'll keep using Cakewalk, I own Reaper.
  21. Wrong reply, please delete
  22. This IS becoming a new habit. Are you craving attention? ?
