Give support a yell - support@cakewalk.com They've managed to restore old accounts. You should be able to get the latest version of Cakewalk Command Center and download all of your old purchased items from there. Bear in mind that because everything is being shifted around a bit to cater for the new product line coming, some domain names have changed so if you have the old CCC then you'll need to grab the new one from HERE for it to work. But yeah, if you can't log in to that, shoot support a message.

I'm not really sure there even is any new stuff to talk about, honestly. From everything I've seen posted they're still at work on the upcoming products and there's some logistics to get past for the CbB stuff. Seeing Mark mention the back-end stuff, I wonder if that's got something to do with people testing Next out taking a while to get happening? It sounds like there's going to be some kind of public/semi-public beta for it, rather than the closed internal testing they've had so far (just speculating here, no insider knowledge on that either way)

Mark mentioned in a thread the other day that everything was more or less baked for the next CbB update but they're waiting on some server side stuff to be completed by a different Bandlab team. It sounds like everyone is keen to push this out

It wouldn't be exact because you can't really move controls around, but you could certainly change many of the colours and icons to match.

That looks like a Groove Clip rather than a plain audio clip. Select the clip and do Clips > Bounce to Clip(s). That'll turn it into just a regular audio clip and it'll allow it to stretch like all the others.

Not sure why that is (not familiar with the plugin) but if you route your kick track to an Aux track rather than a Bus and put the plugin on that, does it work?

Yep, go up to the Mix Recall module (you may need to enable it) and choose Reset Mix. But make sure you save first, I don't believe that's undoable!

I'll echo what everyone else is saying. A good interface with solid ASIO drivers will sidestep almost every issue you have, and this goes for any DAW too. Failing that, Cakewalk definitely does use WASAPI Exclusive and depending on the interface, you can get some pretty impressive latency out of it (there are some caveats if you use it to record audio). ASIO4ALL uses a windows native driver (WDM) to make it appear like a ASIO driver, but it's not. Cakewalk natively supports every driver model, so it doesn't need this intermediate step in between like some hosts do. In fact, this "driver" can actually cause issues just by being installed and it's definitely recommended not to use it. MME will usually always work but will give you by far the worst performance out of every driver model and isn't recommended at all for DAW usage. If you're getting bad performance from WASAPI Shared, and Exclusive isn't working at all, this is telling me there's something not optimised in your machine for audio. This is separate to CPU or RAM performance in general. Even if your computer can run high end games or a million browser tabs, it still doesn't make a difference if there's some issue preventing low latency audio. The link to LatencyMon earlier is a good place to start. But bottom line is a lot of these issues will be solved for a fraction of the price of your computer (or the cost of a fairly dull night out in the city) just by getting a real interface. You can buy a Ferrari but you can't expect it to win races if you fill the tank with paint thinner...

Yeah, Invision is pretty great software overall (I've been mod/admin on a few boards over the years using different software), but their mod stuff is a little limited compared to some others. There's always pros and cons. It's overall a great fit for this kind of purpose though, so I'd say that's the reason it was chosen. The spam is definitely targeted towards times where they expect mods from the northern hemisphere to be less active, so it's definitely handy splitting people off into different timezones. I do agree that there should probably be some more pro-active stuff set up to counter this stuff, but I'm not sure how flexible Invision is for doing those kind of add-ons. For the moment, apart from the odd gap here and there or a particularly over the top attack like the other day, the team seem to be on top of it all, and hopefully the extra hands here can help out a bit.

As I mentioned on another thread, I hopped on board as an Aus timezone janitor the other day to help catch a lot of this stuff... and wouldn't you know it, the one evening I was tied up...! 🙄 I want to give big props to the mod team though, I had a good look though the spam posts from the last few days and I thought what I cleaned up the other day was a heap (and it was), but wow... these guys deserve a medal. The flag/delete list was IMMENSE. There was stuff I never saw as a regular user and that's absolutely because of the hard work of the team. In fact, by the time I hopped on just then, 99% of it was cleaned up already - I still caught a couple of stragglers. (Actually there's still a couple at it now.. too bad for them ) But definitely report anything you guys see, if we catch them early, we can disable them from posting and clean up early.

Re: dump file, upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and provide a link. Those things can get pretty large, depending on how much stuff is in memory at the time. Crashing is rare and usually plugin related or there's damaged system libraries though, so while you're waiting for a reply from support, see if you can pinpoint any older 32bit plugins or problematic ones and swap them out if possible. It looks like everything is moving over to a legacy site for the old stuff, and a whole new site is being designed for the product moving forward. Considering how much stuff is involved with the docs applying to various different products over the years, this will likely be a fairly big job and take a bit of time to get straight. I think ultimately it'll all work itself out but there's bound to be a messy interim period for a while.

Yeah, what Colin said. 2 things come to mind for me. The first is I grew up in the outback where temps would literally start to make the roads melt, well into the 50c range out in the sun. When I was a kid our school made us do folk dancing every Friday afternoon (of all things!) right in the direct sun, asphalt bubbling under our feet. So many kids got seriously ill from this stuff. Thankfully they stopped doing that and installed proper shading so nobody has to put up with that kind of stupidity now, but we all learned really fast exactly how seriously to take the sun and hydration. It can literally kill you. The second thing is a festival we did in Indonesia once. We've regularly done 2+ hour shows and they're all pretty energetic, and even on fairly hot stages we've gotten to the end pretty tired but in OK shape, all things considered. Indonesia, on the other hand, was HOT and MUGGY. By the time we made it to the first chorus of the first song, I think all of us were looking at each other going "what the hell is going on here?" So even as a kid who grew up in desert temperatures and knows all about working in hot conditions, this still caught me off guard. Ironically, immediately after we got off stage, a cool change came through and every band after us had a lovely relaxing evening. Sigh. 😑 Heat and dehydration is no joke. Don't be hard on yourself over this, it's a serious thing that can do real damage to people of any age.

Possibly you've changed to a different screenset or workspace that's hidden them? It's easy to bump a number key and have that happen. Have you tried clicking the little + sign at the top right of the main track view, underneath where the rulers should be? That'll allow you to select one of more different rulers.

It's a pretty decent go this time! I reported this stuff when it first started and some of it's been cleaned up but looks like they have the upper hand at the moment. I'd pause registrations and put in some IP blocks ASAP if I was a mod...!

I was running CbB on a dual core laptop with 8GB of RAM from more than a decade ago until early 2019. It sucked but it certainly worked. My 8th gen machine now has eaten anything I've thrown at it for breakfast, including massive orchestral templates, literally dozens of guitar and vocal tracks with live effects, mastering chains... you name it. An 11th gen like yours (even an i5) has even more grunt than I have here! I'd say if anything, Sonar should potentially be lighter on resources since it's not loading a heap of bitmaps into memory like CbB is, and I'd say that by the time it becomes a problem in the future, your machine (and definitely mine) would be due for an upgrade anyway.

Make a send to the outputs. So you could set your metronome output to 3/4 and then on your master bus, have the output of that going to 1/2 and then make a send on that going to 3/4. I typically set up busses for this stuff. It's unnecessary but having a bus labelled Main Out and Headphones and those busses routed to your intended hardware outputs helps you visually keep track of where things are going in your project.
