  1. @Istvan Karsai In the instance that you posted (screenshot) above, I found a couple of issues that are tricky with Kontakt that may help. [If you use Komplete Kontrol as a Kontakt wrapper, there are similar issues... but let's get this working first] First, in your Kontakt instrument you need to go to the <Instrument Options><Engine><Send MIDI to outside world><Chose Options> Remove the tick from <Script generated notes> (if exists), insert a check in <Incoming notes> and then close. (DO NOT SAVE the instrument when it prompts you later!) Then, using the routing previously discussed [Kontakt instance in MIDI OUT mode, MIDI track #2 driving INST track #1, MIDI track #4 driving INST track #3, MIDI track #4 INPUT receiving from the Kontakt output, ch1] as follows; ...then setting Echo In and Record on track #4 should allow you to see incoming notes from track #2 on track #4. Notice that; here, I'm using the INTERNAL Arpeggiator to drive Kontakt (Factory patch) Grand Piano and can then record the arpeggiated notes directly into track #4 driving the Bass. NOTE: (!) that the internal arp will miss the first note of the sequence if you try to start recording the arp sequence exactly at Bar 1/Beat 1, which is why I have shown the example starting at Bar 2, which is a good idea anyway with all projects IMO. Place the playback head (vertical cursor) at Bar 1, start record, and you should get results similar to mine above. There are too many quirks with Kontakt and the Internal Arp for me to cover here, but this should work. Driving from another instrument may be similar, but YMMV.
  2. Is D:\ your boot drive? Cakewalk, by default, installs the core application(s) in the boot drive: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core > Cakewalk.exe Have you looked there (if such exists)?
  3. At the risk of oversaturating the market, I'm submitting yet another cue from the second act of my current project. Enjoy!
  4. Hospitals and cemeteries always have room for those who choose not to read the manuals.
  5. Django Reinhardt before the fire;
  6. The 'Wave Profiler' only reports status on MOBO internal drivers - WDM/WASAPI. Your ASIO drivers report their own sample/rate/latency from the drivers control panel.
  7. Very cool treatment! I like the mix alot. I might like to hear the entire thing in a larger room (just slightly wetter overall), but really good anyway.
  8. Just to confirm; you are recording on the receiving instruments MIDI track? As I mentioned, not every VST can send MIDI out (even though the checkbox is available) due to factors involved in how the arp is implemented in the instrument [that are too deep to discuss here]. I do not, as a matter of privacy, open other folks projects, and I do not have access to the Synthmaster instrument, so I can't help any further in this situation. Maybe someone else can pick up the ball from here... Best of luck.
  9. When you insert the Synthmaster into the project, check this box (if it is available... as I said, NOT ALL instruments can do this...): Then use the output of that instrument to drive the input of another instrument, and it MAY record the arp sequence. Not guaranteed... depends on the instrument and the way it was written. Also available here (on some instruments...):
  10. If the SW Synth can send MIDI out (needs to be VST3 IIRC...), then you can play the incoming data through the synth and record its output to a new MIDI track. That should do the trick. [Caveat: this does not work with ALL VST's]
  11. If you are using the arpeggiator built in to the MIDI channel inspector <I>, then <Bounce to Clips> will commit the notes.
  12. At that point, my survey wouldn't let me enter any data, after three attempts I gave up.
  13. Another cue for a late scene of the first act. Music director asked for something that was similar to "Pink Floyd meets Interstellar". Dug out my geetar for the first time in about 4 months. No calluses. Ouch. EDIT: (YouToob did something wishy/washy to the compression on upload, but it's close)
  14. Another cue from the movie project that I'm working on. This is slated for the leading splash/rolling intro credits and dumps abruptly into the opening dialog.
  15. This has been a long standing feature request for Sonar. Just have to wait and see.
  16. You should confirm with M-Audio support that the supplied software driver for the Solo/Duo is a genuine ASIO driver and not ASIO4ALL or some other variant.
  17. It's well known that opening an older format file in a newer application and then saving it (using defaults) will convert it to newer file format, and regressing from there is foolhardy.
  18. Well, you might be surprised at how many pads, leads, and beats that I've made in my shop by sampling things with my electric drill... 😳 Sound design is an artists minefield.
  19. I found a post here that is identical to your issue and appears to also be unresolved. There may be a rabbit hole over there at the Tascam forum that you may have to go into and fish around. Personally, I've never seen or heard glowing reviews of that particular interface.
  20. The signup for 'news' was sort of a flop. The signup for Sonar Beta is more recent and rigorous. If they still need participants and you qualify, they will let you know. Additional paperwork is required such as non-disclosure agreements & instructions to only report/communicate through private channels... and not this forum. Good luck!
  21. Try the 'None' workspace first. I never thought to ever try this with take lanes, as I usually only open one track at a time so that I don't get confused and edit the wrong thing, but I would assume it functions there as well. I have a nine custom workspaces and they all work correctly, but I started with one, modified it and saved as new as project layouts required. I also work on 4 separate monitors too, but that shouldn't have any effect on the TV.
  22. Select all the tracks in Track View <CTRL-A>, hold CTRL and click on any Automation Lane icon. However (and this is intermittent for me occasionally) it will only open the first automation lane on the track(s). If you have multiple lanes on any particular track, it won't always open all of them. Never bothered me much tho. It is a toggle function, so if you have some lanes already open and execute this, the open lanes will close, the rest will open. Obviously, the inverse is true as well.
  23. The thing about scoring to film is that you have to make the music fit the scene timing.
  24. NI Noire layered with an anvil that I sampled in the shop, felted. It's meant to just be the downbeat pulse.
  25. I'm probably spoiled because I use 4 monitors. TV is on mon1, PRV is mon2, Console is mon3, Video playback mon4... which really makes things easier.
