  1. One way is to make a MIDI volume envelope, that way you can change single notes or groups of notes easily. You can control a ton of midi stuff with envelopes. Go the the midi track and click on the Edit filter - It usually says "clips" by default. Volume is 1st in the pull down, but more MIDI controls are under MIDI. Hope this helps, Max Arwood
  2. It sounds like automation is still on the track. When you delete a track you might not be deleting automation. To be sure the track is cleared use edit->Delete Special - be sure all boxes are checked. You can also delete automation there separate from the clip information. Max Arwood
  3. It sure looks good. Usually when he updates Melodyne it has some really great features - like this version! Just need to decide is you could use it. Me - I'm saving up now - Looks great! Max Arwood
  4. My HUD goes to staff view???? Any ideas? Max Arwood
  5. By default all faders are set to 0 in Cakewalk. The Music Tech Photo - Master set at -12 looks like a project that have several tracks pushing the volume a little hot. I think this is why they set it that way. Keep in mine that these are only starting points and fader number are not important. What is important is the DB scale and the actual volume of the tracks and busses. To set master volume correctly you would need a LUFS meter. Any of there are good - Melda has a bunch of great free plugins. Free https://www.meldaproduction.com/MLoudnessAnalyzer (If you don't have it get the full free version - the green button on this screen) Free https://youlean.co/youlean-loudness-meter/ There are plenty more! Free and a bunch of paid ones too. Google LUFS and will get a ton of info on volume. With LUSF meter you read the actual volume not just looking where the fader is placed.
  6. Been doing a bunch of micro editing the last few weeks. I love that you can shift click on any envelope to change the edit filter to that envelope. That is GREAT!! After volume or clip edit I have to move the mouse all the way back to the edit filter to go back to select clip editing. It would be really fast and logical to shift click on the clip header to change the edit filter back to clips. (New Feature???) It there another quick way to reset edit filter back to clips after a volume or clip volume edit? Thanks, Max Arwood
  7. Teegarden 1)One time I have seen these messages I had moved some plugins to organize them. 2)The other time was when I updated some plugins and did not choose the same directory it was originally installed in. *2 would show the plugin in the plugin manager as correct, but in the project it would be pointing to the invalid older version. 8. Wow! More fixes!! Great Job on a great piece of software. Now - More time to work on music! The waves and this one - can't believe you found these. I can't imagine how deep some of this stuff is in the code! Oh yes, how much coffee is required for this type work? Thanks, Max Arwood
  9. Well thread scheduling #3 is great for me now on play back , but now cakewalk freezes up on export audio. I guess for now I will just swap back and forth. We might need thread scheduling for mixing and another for bouncing tracks. It will only be a minor annoyance for now. It will be just a minor annoyance. I am still having lockups with Lexicon PCM Reverbs. It keeps locking up saying cakewalk does not have permission to speak to the Lexicon pcm reverb in “ “ ilok. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Again, Max Arwood
  10. I have been having many of the same issues that you are having since win 10. They just rewrote the #3 thread stuff I was struggling just to here a few measures without skips. So... i tried #3 a few times and it was worst than #2. Just for the heck of it I tried again tonight. I can’t tell you how glad I am that i did. No more pops and clicks, everything is running great. You should try it. Max Arwood Try the new beta and thread scheduling #3. Hope it works for you too!
  11. I don‘t know what you guys did with the new thread scheduling #3 but it worked GREAT. My CPU graph on #2 & #1 looked like a sawtooth wave form! Now all processors are running the exact same level! No more crackles and pops on heavy loaded projects. FINALLY perfect! Best ever. If you guys experiment more can we keep #3 and just add #4 as a new experiment versions???? Thank, Max Arwood
  12. Wow I have been telling people about this! I can't believe it finished! Looks good.
  13. Actually I meant to say when I used to do short videos I used mpeg2 in Cakewalk. Larger stuff I do in Vegas Video. Sometimes I do the Audio in Cakewalk if it is complex audio them import stems into Vegas. I have looked at DaVinci resolve (free version). It has most of the basic stuff most people would need. 14. Google search for CSMidicompander. It has all those features and another plugin in beta is a actual midi EQ!! Max Arwood
  15. There is an Always import Broadcast waves to their exact time stamp. It could be something like that. I don’t know it is effects video time stamps or not see if it is checked in Preference. I always use mpeg2 in cakewalk. For video stuff. Max Arwood
  16. This is being written right now by Viramor! He has been working on it a while. Should be ready pretty soon. Max Arwood
  17. I always play in one line at a time. The natural variation of one take to another almost always Sound very natural. Some times I will play two or even more depending on the difficulty of the project. You can hand stager notes after the fact or use randomizers to help. But just playing them sounds better. Mod wheel for swells helps the natural way musicians play horns and strings. Max Arwood
  18. Wookiee - Thanks for listening. I have enjoy your last few pieces too! Max Arwood
  19. Yes thanks Tom!! I am using a beta MidiEQ plugin. It is by Viramor! I requested this plugin. I played this piece on a different sampled piano than the one you hear here. The new piano was too heavy on the left have and had some notes out of balance on the very high end. A few out here and there. MidiEQ is phenominal!! You can adjust the velocity of every single note! The beta is a little hard to make minute adjustments. The next version will be great! I knew someone could write this! I also used CSMidiCompander for midi compression! This song would not be near as good without these 2 plugins. (I could have used the piano roll and spent a few weeks doing this - now I just drag the mouse on an EQ graph!) Thanks for the suggestion - this is the 1st post I have ever changed the tiotle on - didn't even know how! Max Arwood
  20. The Flute Track is expanded in both photos. The tracks left panel not synced to the right panel. This happens right before I lose complete control of Cakewalk. This happens from time to time. Anyone else ever had this happen? Any ideas? 56 Tracks Thanks, Max Arwood Normal Misaligned
  21. I have used autotune in front of oVox. It does seem to help. oVox does some weird pitch shifting stuff not good for all types of songs. Nice for a special effect on a bridge or chorus. Max Arwood
  22. You can use Melodyne to move in pitch and time audio notes. Melodyne will also convert audio to MIDI. Max Arwood
