  1. When I'm clicking back and forth editing, I wish the Smart tool and the Edit(Scissor) tool could be the closest ones to the mouse pointer when you click the wheel.
  2. Yes, thanks. I have used Cakewalk for many years. When Comping 1st came out, I tried it, but it crashed too much. Just now trying it again, LOL! I didn't know that I could just drag clips back and forth from the comping tracks.
  3. There are some plugins that could be used - SLGain Gain ($2.50) Hornet (Several to choose from), Waves - WLM Plus($29), Playlist rider($77), Vocal Rider($29), WA Production - Outlaw ($39), Nugen MasterCheck($199), LM-Correct($399!), Adobe Audition, Reaper,Audacity. "It should NOT be a big thing to code." To get an audio file to actually sound the same volume is very tricky. Different frequencies are louder at the same RMS and Peak. LUFS is supposed to take in consideration the Fletcher-Munson Curve. I have to use several plugins stacked in comping mode to make the takes close enough to only focus on the tone, pitch and performance. Vocal Rider, Outlaw, MasterCheck and Playlist rider. Waves MV2 is super good too. If you use plugins you would probably bounce the clips which will blend them into a single track. Probably not what you want. Check these Freebies too-> I have not used the Dynamic-Audio-Normalizer of the Volume-Normalizer-Master but, I have used The-Levelator. The-Levelator does not use LUFS but, is does bring low volume audio files to a very good volume level. You could drop your "audio" directory file in this. They will be renamed but, it shouldn't be too hard to copy the new file to your cakewalk project. https://www.videohelp.com/software/The-Levelator https://www.videohelp.com/software/Dynamic-Audio-Normalizer https://www.videohelp.com/software/Volume-Normalizer-Master
  4. Could there be a second blank clip on top of the one you are listening to?
  5. That is amazing! I've used MNotepad in a bunch of projects but, I never knew or even thought about an envelope for scroll!
  6. I just want to remove some of them to edit the audio, then put them back.
  7. What is the best way to revert take lanes back to audio tracks. What is the best way to even the volumes of take lanes. (I found a couple of threads on this). Comping seems to crash frequently when using the right arrow.
  8. I haven’t had any problems with Omnisphere. Could you tell us what your computer specs and sound card are. That might help.
  9. Yes, a little bit, but not near as much. It's a different beast.
  10. Drop this on a bus. Anything thing you want to come forward in the mix Turn up the pre-amp to 40. Flip the noise switch to low Turn up the mids+1 or more Set send to this bus - It will move a track to the front. It is great on things like drums, lead vocals, and any guitar solo ithat you want to jump out front.
  11. This is a great saturation plug-in! It is in my master template. And has been there for several years.. Don’t get wuped out of. getting a great plug-in free. I just watched this used by one of the major pros last night. This and pie are not replaceable by any plugins that sound similar.
  12. I’m glad I saw that you said the instruments were not properly named. I have to agree. Thanks to all. Hope I can finish one some day!
  13. Some of my favorites - MiniTool Partition Wizard, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, CrystalDisk, HD tune Pro, SeaTools for Windows, Seagate Recover, Resilio Sync, Macrium Reflect, FolderClone, FolderMatch, Process Explorer64, Autoruns64. These are all great utility apps!
  14. Zo - Thanks for the great review and video. I always liked you videos. I wanted to get VSE-4 when it came out in 2021, but there were other plugins ahead of it. I wanted to get it on plugin alliance, but Vertigo moved future plugins to their site. I think I got the 2 and 3 for $29 to $39 each. I was shocked at the new price point! I love the saturation in the 4.
  15. Thanks, Kevin, The drive is 2tb spinner. Really slow searching that many files. The doc says I could search selected folders and display "plugin.vst3" in one instance of file explorer. That would cut the search time to almost nothing. It would probably allow you to move file around in your plugin folders. I'm just not an xml geek lol.
  16. Yes, but that is when they 1st came out. Nov 25, 2022 — Oeksound Black Friday Sale - Soothe2 ($139/Full | $39/Upgrade) Spiff ($99) from the 24th to the 28th of November. Here is this year. I bought way before this. I think it was Soothe $129.00 Spiff $99.00 Soothe2 is nothing like Gullfoss. Don't know where someone got that idea. I have also seen it posted that way,
  17. Wow, I just checked to see if there were any updates. I'm not sure whether I would pay the current price for Smoothe2 and Spiff. I'm glad I had these since they 1st came out.
  18. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/search/-search-savedsearchfileformat?redirectedfrom=MSDN Trying to figure this thing out. I have 5 plugin folders. I am trying to locate a plugin in these folders. From what I read, it can be done with a couple of clicks with this. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this. If so, could you show us an example of: Searching for "plugin.vst3" in A-folder B-folder C-folder EDIT - Just looking for an easy way to find, check, move or delete plugins. Thanks for any help!
  19. No need to erase! Good Information.
  20. I have the Kirchhoff EQ, but I have used Pro Q, 2, 3 for so long, I can't even talk myself into using it in a project, so I can play with it. I like the idea of a dynamic compressor in Q3, but if I needed more I would go to a MB compressor. Kirchhoff Eq is just an EQ with built in MB compressor with some more band curves. I'm not sure I would use them much anyway.
  21. Ok I got the $50 deal offered too, but is their really $50 worth of new stuff? That is 1/2 of what I paid for the original.
  22. I love vertigo plugins. I was using vertigo in a FX chain a few weeks ago. It was one of the best compression/saturation chains I have ever done. I used it on a bus. It is super bright chain and the bottoms is rolled off because of the Butch Vig vocal plug-in. It was Maag Eq, Butch Vig vocals, BlackBox, and Vertigo VSM3 (I love vertigo 2 and 3) Experiment with the settings. Send a tiny bit of a signal through this and it will jump way out front. Too much and it will jump out of your screen/headphones lol. I wish they would release more plugins in plug-in alliance. Their price was much higher when they released them on their own site.
  23. Zo - I listened to some of your mixing. I like the way you hear details in music as you work. I like dynamic EQ too! I like Fabfilter Pro Q3 and the Kirchhoff-EQ for those types of curves. Speaking of curves - I guess I like Softube Chandler Limited Curve Bender too.
  24. Zo you like 200 better? I don’t hear much difference. If I had either I would be ok.
