  1. ive made a few track 10mins lately, its just nice to chill to some tracks. Id like to hear some vocals in parts, a sexy female voice in parts would be killer. Nice track
  2. loving the sinister epic feel, makes me want to buy a car or something haha
  3. that was waiting for drums in sections, i think it would help you groove when playing and find more direction. Get some midi drums grooves hooked up which will give you more freedom. Creative Sauce tutorials by Mike will also help in that direction which you mention with the basics

    The Gas Giants 1

i was waiting for a little drum and percussion tease to come in and out in places, i wonder if you tired it? Nice syfy feel
  7. Thank you so much Treesha, at least one person likes it, i enjoyed making it and iv'e been really exploring styles this year to dabble with sound tracks.
  8. Cheers Jack, learn't a bit about side chaining with this one and messing with position of vocals
  9. This is now band on YouTube so Facebook linkhttps://www.facebook.com/whoisp/videos/171454391729150 Oh well its different i guess. Goes up through the gears and i get excited at the end with some punk rap i think ill call it, but banned huh appeal in.
  10. I had a song banned but got it reinstated. Local government were stalking my social media so i left them the song below done on a old 8track ebfore i had cakewalk. Im back in court next month from a matter going on for 8yrs. They actually blocked my right to prosecute the Police and the Police have now charged me for a facebook post her in Plymouth where the Police give nut cases guns, bizarre world. Fact I'm working on a song called broken world which is fun haha
  11. Devine Lie - Take the knife your video is epic haha i need that budget and maybe a spend more time and perfecting my music haha Yes the drums are weak in places on that track. Ive never been one for pushing drums up in any track. Years ago in a band at uni, the drummer had one level and i think its stuck with me to turn them down lol
  12. I prefer Addictive Drums 2 to any other kit. Great sounding kits and you can break the kit up to put on separate tracks to get the individual sound for each drum you want for any style of music. Using a controller or writing drum score doesn't really matter, Aal the drum programs are good, it personal preference with sound and price.
  13. Cheer's for the tip on sidechaining ive been trying different techniques also with eq
  14. Yes you're right, Addictive Drums hi hats were a problem with fx i was using and i am still getting use to how AD works with its built in EQ etc. Addictive Drums can be quite ***** the way you set them up or have each drum or cymbal on its own track etc. I should have had hi hats on two tracks really, one clean using pro channel eq and one with wet mix fx i used to get the sound i wanted for this track. i should call it electro pop. i see how people think when you say EDM, people associate it with banging kick on the quarter, when this is the sound which suited the project goal. There is quite a few instrument tracks in this one with the vocal in front. I based the levels round the kick which was -12db and was clipping the mix in to many places, i used a drum room bus with the goal of ducking but maybe threshold to low. Mark is right with side-chaining, i need to do more work with side change compression because i did have threshold to low and not done enough with side-chaining which many multi tracks. Not sure which is the best free compression plugin in cakewalk with side chain. The problem is when you hit a piano note, at the same time as a bass note, maybe a chord and kick with a vocal, its easy to clip to often with dynamics of song when its driving. I need to look at side chaining more to trigger for sure.
  15. The originally mix i did was a heavier mix and i then always do a mix with more empathise on feeling and emotion. By far the majority choose this mix for the overall balance and feel than the heavier bass and drum mis, i know what you mean though. If it was more instrumental i would have sacrificed more. I'm just experimenting with adding some type of EDM to my normal guitar songwriting style and getting more technical with cakewalk. I need to improve my mixing and mastering, this is my 11th song using a daw after choosing cakewalk its been a massive learning curve and getting the guitar out after 20yrs. Next project i am not sure what to do, maybe drum and bass or a classical soundtrack.
  16. My best EDM type track ive done to date i think and it passed the mountain bike test i.e riding through the countryside with headphones on in sun haha. I'm really happy with my base playing and drums on this one. The song builds up, subtle flowing uplifting vibe. I do repeat the lyrics, its that type of vibe "keep it easy" and dance vocal FX. Addictive Drums Black velvet through modulation and phase filters in places. Then i sample the 808 and pop kit for for main kick and snare. Mostly done on KeyZone classic, Surge and Synth Master free bundles with tweaking Audio FX. Video just something i bang together to share my music.
  17. ive had the very odd drop out, i just turn the unit off for few seconds and back on and s sorts it out so the usb drivers refresh without rebooting the pc. Drops out usually a software issue which can conflict with driver on pc, things like youtube can even cause it running in background using the sound drivers haha and not the unit itself which is rare, so basically background programs, anti virus, wifi and things like apps that also use audio like spotify etc
  18. Ive got the Behringer UMC1820 Paul, comes with dedicated drivers and been stable for me on win10. However i did want one with midi port and spidif to use some of my old equipment has i don't use a usb controller but my old midi keyboard and piano. The 404 didn't have those options, plus the extra heaphone monitor is real quick and handy. Cost me £170 but see some cheaper, is rack mount . I could find nothing else at a reasonable price with these midi and Spidf inputs inputs
  19. Loving your funky jazz vibe in your work BTW
  20. haha nobody accused me of been to clever. Last time i mention a genre i will stick to "here's my latest vibe"
  21. Iv'e never been one for genre either haha
  22. Found it - MeldaProduction MFreeFXBundle has 34 plugins including MautoPitch https://www.meldaproduction.com/MFreeFXBundle/
  23. Personal preference i guess with some things on what overall sound you wanted, i could have gone more instrumental but it was aa vocal project. In some parts of the track, well its off the beat on every quarter in chorus, i was just experimenting with electronic track with my style in a way. I purposely stayed away from every quarter. i started the track jamming on a loop every quarter but the repetition affected the progression twists with vocals. I do agree, it's best to stay with the dance type classic music theory with EDM and Techno 'kick tops and riff' i was exploring the sound character and dynamics
  24. Forgive my eyes, that's a beauty, Beatles Paul McCartney used it to drive some of their distinctive basslines. Iv'e never played one but heard a lot about them
