  1. It may go by different names, I suspect large sample-based pianos stream samples. Certainly the one that has a buffer size setting sounds like a streaming setting. Synths that do not stream load all samples into memory at once and typically do not have any options at all for buffering.
  2. Don't worry about creating another thread for topics created in this one. Going forward consider creating new threads for new topics. Everyone has my permission to quote my posts in this forum.
  3. Unless volume automation is desired, there is no need to add the envelope. One thing to keep in mind about automation - the act of opening automation lanes when a track has no automation automatically creates a volume envelope. This can cause problems if no automation is desired. To remove unwanted automation envelopes, right-click on the envelope and select "Delete Envelope." Simply deleting the automation lane does not delete the automation envelope.
  4. Turn off Always Echo Current MIDI Track and take manual control of input echo. If all you want to do is play both synths using the same data, record one instrument then copy the clip(s) into the other instrument track making sure to link the clips (an option in paste special). Linked clips allow edits to propagate to both tracks. Clips may be unlinked at any time. Streaming samples my reduce the load on the PC. This is configured in the plug-ins that support the feature. It is also a good idea to post separate threads for unrelated topics. Adding multiple topics in a thread does not help other users looking for solutions.
  5. This is why I wrote This will work fine unless you need to (re)run some of the Platinum installers. Some of the Platinum installers only run if Platinum is found in the registry. The act of uninstalling and re-installing CbB restores the shared files removed by uninstalling SONAR such as library.db.
  6. SONAR and CbB share many files. There used to be a warning when updating SONAR that uninstalling a previous version would damage the updated version. The impact of uninstalling SONAR after installing CbB is the same. In the case of SONAR Platinum, Bandlab recommends installing SONAR Platinum in full, then installing CbB and leaving both DAWs on the PC. Uninstalling SONAR has removed files used by CbB. At a minimum, you need to uninstall CbB and re-install it. The best solution is uninstall CbB, install SONAR Platinum then re-install CbB. Any custom category assignments are gone unless you have a backup of %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library\Library.db Re-installing restores the default database.
  7. If it was the full version, the installer may be in your Cakewalk account. I am not familiar with how the synth was delivered for that promo.
  8. The plug-in is not part of SHS At least according to http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Comparison.html Or is this an older version of SHS? I don't have any experience with that part of the CW product line.
  9. That's right. I was just about to post the section for z3ta+.dll. It fails too. Could try re-installing. What versions of SONAR do you have? The plug-in was not bundled with SONAR Home Studio.
  10. Upload the log somewhere and post a link to it. I will look take a look at the log. Does z3ta+ show up in effects? If so, what are the names of the FX entries?
  11. Always unless support suggests otherwise
  12. restore the file names From preferences run a VST Reset with "Generate Scan Log" enabled If the plug-ins do not show up in the "Sort by" layouts bundled with CbB, review the scan log for details about Z3ta+.
  13. Here are step-by-step instructions for installing Cakewalk by BandLab using BandLab Assistant. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html#1521945
  14. The Insert Soft Synth Options dialog is available in the synth rack view "E" in the image below
  15. Instrument and MIDI tracks routed to drum maps populate the Drum Grid View. Without a drum map these tracks show up in the PRV.
  16. May be easier with a new project create a new project, add Ivory2 using an instrument track then copy and paste the MIDI data from the old project into the new project instrument track.
  17. While routing track 3 to the same synth as instrument track 4 uses works, it may be clearer, for now, to drag the MIDI data into the instrument track. As noted above, a MIDI track is not necessary when using an instrument track. The instrument track can handle all communication with the synth. If the event filter MFX plug-ins are doing something, they may be placed in the instrument track MIDI FX rack. The MIDI FX rack is located on the MIDI tab in the inspector for track 4. Once the data and plug-ins are moved, delete track 3. If you prefer having two tracks, one for MIDI and one for audio - after moving the data and plug-ins to track 4, right-click the track header near the track number and icons and select "Split Instrument Track" Might want to archive tracks 1 and 2 for now.
  18. The MINUS in the automation lane header deletes the automation lane but does NOT delete the automation envelope. This is by design. To delete an automation envelope see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1154521 If a track has no automation, opening up the automation lanes automatically adds Volume automation. This may be reassigned or deleted as needed. This too is by design.
  19. I don't know anything about Virus hardware or software. The interface buffer size setting in Cakewalk is in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings
  20. There is only one group that can help I gave you the link on the 25th
  21. It might help to see an image of the track headers. Especially the routing details. There are two basic track types in Cakewalk - audio and MIDI tracks. An instrument track is a hybrid of one audio track and one MIDI track. A separate MIDI track is not necessary if the synth is configured to use an instrument track.
  22. Too small a buffer can cause dropouts or audible clicks and pops.
  23. The drop is indicating a Workspace is active and the workspace affects the controls displayed in the track headers. When there is no active workspace, the drop down shows the current Track Control setting. The Workspace menu is in the extreme upper right. It can controls the available views. It displays the name of the active workspace or when set to None the drop down shows "Workspaces"
  24. If playback is OK in the DAW, the problem may lie in the software use for playing the exported file. One way to test this is import the file into a new project and play the clip. If the levels are OK, it is the playback software. If the levels are bad i the DAW, then the levels need to be changed in the project. The gain on the audio tab in the inspector for an instrument track affects record clips only. It does not affect synth playback There is a cancel button to the right of the progress bar (B in the image below) in the transport module when exporting. If exporting a single track, it likely won't get the cancel request until after the track is rendered.
