  1. BTW, normally "Rescan Failed Plugins" and "Rescan All Plugins" should not be enabled.
  2. The second line in the scan path is a problem. The scan path should contain paths with VST2 and VST3 plug-ins only. Scanning the entire D drive is likely to result in the scanner trying to load dlls that have nothing to do with VST plug-ins like bzrclient.dll. Replace the second line in the scan path with the location(s) where audio plug-ins are installed. Avoid duplicate paths, for example, do not add d:\vstplugins\somepath, if d:\vstplugins is already in the scan path.
  3. Is bzrclient.dll in a VST plug-in folder? Searching Google indicates this may be game related. Review the scan path settings in preferences. It may be they are causing the scanner to scan folders containing non-VST related dlls. The image in the link shows the default scan path. Maybe start with the default and add back paths that only contain VST plug-ins. Post the scan path here if necessary.
  4. Importing MIDI into a project strips tempo because the project already has a tempo track. Opening a MIDI file creates a new project and uses the tempo data in the MIDI file to create the tempo track.
  5. Works for me Here is an example changing from Sort by Category to a custom Categories layout with nested folders:
  6. To restore the missing metronome files, hold down the SHIFT key when starting CbB.
  7. The layout is set at the top of the plug-in menu and in the Plugins tab in the browser

  10. CbB includes a plug-in called Channel Tools for this. This post may prove interesting
  11. WRT track controls, @Craig Anderton offered this solution (from http://forum.cakewalk.com/Pro-Channel-Panning-m3755460.aspx) I believe it was deleted from the Huge Book of CbB Tips because Channel Tools was not bundled with CbB at the time the book was compiled.
  12. For now, once they are set hide the controls
  13. Plug-ins included with X2 are documented here Plug-ins included with CbB are documented here To take advantage of all the extra content bundled with SONAR, perform a full installation of 64bit X2, apply the X2a update then install CbB. Installing CbB last insures all the shared files are up to date. If CbB is already installed, it may be a good idea to uninstall it before running the X2 installer. Use BandLab Assistant to uninstall CbB then run the X2 install and update.
  14. This may be what turned on the enhanced editor. AFAIK, the numbers on the typewriter side of the keyboard should be used for screensets.
  15. Looks like enhanced keyboard editing was invoked.
  16. TAL Vocoder is a good one to start with. I would not rely on any posts older than SONAR Platinum for signal routing. Better yet, search this forum for current info before going to the old forum. The trick is learning about routing MIDI in Cakewalk. I posted a general guide here And here are a couple of more recent threads about TAL Vocoder that may help
  17. Editing in the Event List works as documented AFAIK, there is no way to revert the behavior to PA9. To disable a shortcut bind it to the "Do Nothing" function
  18. Are you still using the scanner that shipped with SONAR 8.5? If so, consider installing Cakewalk by BandLab. Even if staying with SONAR, the shared utilities installed with CbB have had years bug fixes and are backward compatible with SONAR. Installing CbB will overwrite the 64bit shared folders but leaves the SONAR program folder alone. Of course, updating everything except one or two pieces of software, in the long run is not a good idea.
  19. Yeah, the VM2500 modules run in Voltage Modular. Voltage Modular is Cherry Audio's modular synth. It comes as a stand alone and VST2/3 instrument and effect. There are AU and AAX formats too. To demo any of the modules requires Voltage Modular. Recently they have been giving away Voltage Nucleus which includes Voltage Modular and a few modules.
  20. https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/vm2500-collection Intro price $49 Cherry Audio and MRB have collaborated to deliver the unique module features, stunning sound quality, and overall user experience of the rare and classic ARP 2500 synthesizer to the Voltage Modular platform. All 18 modules originally produced for the ARP 2500 system have been recreated in perfect detail, as well as a couple that were planned but never produced (including a full-function oscilloscope and a spring reverb), and a mixer module that never existed, but should have! We’ve eliminated the matrix-switch I/O scheme and replaced all connections with standard CV jacks, and added bi-polar CV attenuators to all modulation inputs for full compatibility with all Voltage Modular modules. But most importantly, the tremendous analog sound and unique features of the original modules have been retained in their entirety, with a few small tweaks to improve the practicality of these 50-year-old designs. The recreation of the 2500 modules was a team effort, combining Cherry Audio’s extensive design experience with award-winning synth designer Mark Barton’s (MRB) DSP coding sorcery. The result is a virtual time machine of fat, impactful early electronic music history for the ears! There will be a Live Stream on Friday, April 16th, at 1PM PDT to learn more about the VM2500 Collection. We'll explore some creative, awe-inspiring ways to wire up our new VM2500 Collection modules!
  21. For now you are stuck with Alt+i+y, the pre-defined accelerator Insert > Soft Synth from the main menu
