  1. Hi Tim . . . very interesting and flowing piece, what I really like here are the change points to the many different sections, really smooth the way it melds into the next idea, really well written there  . . . the part that went awry for me was when you introduced the heavy chorus guitar part around 2:21, somehow that section departs from the overall vibe of everything else, perhaps intended, but thought I would point it out as a first time listener. Your opening description makes it sound like you're still developing this project, so best of luck on your Celtic journey . . . hope you can post some updates for us here.

  2. Nigel . . . such great stuff . . . certainly exudes a sense of positivity and possibilities between the music and the visuals. I REALLY love the vocals on this one !

Totally upbeat, for a rainy Monday night in my world. Bonsoir from Canada.

  3. You've got that mix sounding great now, I really enjoyed listening to this one . . . vocals reminded me of Leo Sayer, maybe just the style of the song, or that classic guitar solo . . .  a bit of a time transport, I haven't heard something like this for quite a while . . . well done Keith !

  4. Hi Mark, couldn't let the day go by without something on this new song you've posted . . . unfortunately, no incisive mix suggestions or helpful comments today, all I got today is that I absolutely love the vocals you've captured in this one, another great collaboration with SubVibe , this one with more marked guitars up front.

  5. Very fascinating to listen to Lynn . . . I'm hearing the bongo type sound as the "dots", and the offbeat beat snare in the chorus works very well ! The recording of this is simply magnificent, panning and delays, riffs are flying left and right, a very cool headphone experience to be sure. Love the vocals, and the way it ends, coda perfect.

My favourite part is of course that guitar solo that introduces the chorus section, and that swell before it, very well conceived . . .

  6. @Paul Bush Hey Paul solid backbeat now ! Feels much better, drums support that amazing guitar . . . curious listeners may want to know, did you just rework the drums, or did you use the  @JohnnyV method of dragging guitar to the timeline to create a tempo map ? Either way, you got a solid result . . .

  7. Hi John . . . enjoyed this one very much ! . . . you ever listen to Blue Rodeo ?  . . . when that organ solo cut in I was transported there. Your song idea and the lyric are very well conceived, I totally relate.  This a really great recording as well, everything is clear and blends perfectly together . . . in fact I did a test and listened again on my iPhone speakers . . . yep you've nailed it, it's all there !

My compliments to the chef !

  8. Well done ! . . . really liked the super edgy guitar with that big warm tone. Expertly bent in the guitar solo section.  Your aggressive (assertive) vocals, (more than your usual ?) totally work to support the lyric, could those harmony vocals come up a touch ?

Not sure if you're done with this one . . . but, I'm hearing some of the drum fills could be edited to help the flow between the sections . . . they are in time I think, but work against the guitar feel in places, and the guitar feel is what drives the song along to my ear, drums more of a back beat.

For sure another great song and recording, always look forward to having a listen when you post something new . . . this one is certainly a showcase of your guitar talents.

  10. Hi Jean-Philippe . . . your band sounds great, and Agnes your singer has a very strong voice ! You may have tamed the dynamics of her performance back a bit with over compression . . . might be better to compress less and use volume automation for the sections where she really belts it out. It is a very catchy tune, and I really did enjoy the groove of the band against the vocals . . . and great intro by the way, really catches the ear with the guitar and how the band kicks into it all . . . hope to see you post some more here, it's so good, I'm sure you have more  . . .

  11. Mr. Bradley, sir . . . I bow to your comedic sensibilities here . . . what a whole lotta' fun. Guitar is super well played, and my compliments to your video costume designer.

    Like a crazed fool, I just left the volume loud . . . because it just works !! . . . oops, gotta' go someone's banging on my door . . .

  12. Hi Steve . . . so glad I popped by this one . . . a very fun listen ! Super creative and unique, never know what's coming next kind of stuff. I particularly enjoyed some places where the guitar and bass guitar were doing a kind of exquisite jazzy interplay. Real clear recording, I can hear l lot of work went into this . . . always appreciate quality music like this !

Hey Barry . . . what a classy smooth sounding song, and the recording + mixing are top notch. The video really helps convey the authenticity and realism of the song, with all the clips of the horn players, and your solo . . . what a great solo ! Could have been a "hit" song in 1972 . . . and it's a total "hit" for me right now !

    Just amazing stuff !

Another great chill pop song from you two ! Loving the thick textures, and the way the electric guitar blends into it all . . . translates from headphones to speakers very nicely, quite well mixed there. For me, it has a very European and urban feel to it, and a kind of dreamy love theme in the lyric. Can't think of anything else it would need . . . just a really enjoyable and relaxing listen.

So nice! That Acadian sound is really distinctive. Few years ago my wife and I were in Quebec city and came across a couple of street musicians playing guitar and mandolin. We had to buy their CD they were so good. Anyway, your  song reminded me of that day.
    -Bjorn

@bjornpdx . . . thanks for sharing the story Bjorn . . . there is very rich history in eastern Canada for this type of simple acoustic music . . . I'm in the west, so am just discovering more of it as time goes along . . .

Bruce  , I no nothing about Acadian music but really appreciate the Irish feel. I would love to be able to do the fast reels. I thought this was a Very cool song and I Really liked the instrumentation. Quite a bit different from your past songs. Great job on the entire production.

If you ever need bagpipes on a song , hit me up.   I've got a set on the wall where they belong.

                         Enjoyed it ..          mark

@mark skinner Thank you Mark . . . yes, I do like to try different song approaches and styles, glad you liked it ! Was driving and singing along to my instrumental version of this, then the vocals just appeared on the way back from grocery shopping . . .

(bagpipes in a pop song . . . heard that work only once:)

Very nice piece. Captures the spirit of Irish/Acadian music excellently. Well written, arranged, played recorded and mixed🎶🎶🎶🎶

@Larry T. thanks for listening in . . . I do find Acadian music a lot of fun, so might try another

  18. Hey all  . . . here's something from my studio that I played around with for way too long, finally became an actual song. Originally came about after hearing some Acadian music (eastern Canada) on the radio one night, kind of an Irish roots thing . . . and I added my pop music thing to it, let me know if it's any fun for you . . .
