I wondered the same for 2 seconds, then thought about the fact that is still twice what I paid for the full program. Can't support these "upgrade" prices when the only thing I really care about is a resizable UI.

edit: I guess the other time this happened was with Gig Performer. Both of these companies charge a lot more than outside PA for the update, making them cost prohibitive to upgrade - so I'm not sure that avoiding buying via PA does the consumer any good.

It seems it can be done via drag and drop.

Previously the end user at least had some control. Off-Line Activation, and even a button to refresh activation to give you 6 months. Opened the program today on the latest build and I have 7 days - and there was zero option prior to that to "refresh" my activation....this could be a very real problem.

Thanks. Another observation about the update. It seems like there is no longer an option to change the CAB to any of the existing IRs/CABs in ones collection (other than specifically imported IRS - which is now going to be a crazy long scroll list instead of something searchable( - am I missing something or is this simplification also a major limitation?)

So is there a preferred method to "copy" the library from one computer to another as it doesn't sync between the account? Maintaining both of my machines really has taken a significant amount of work to keep them similar, and that doesn't even include presets - which would be mind numbing to also export/import.

@Peter - IK Multimedia Before I attempt this, does this backup from a specific machine it is run on? (and then could be used to get two computer libraries "in sync" without having to spend countless hours downloading and importing/exporting?)

Reed 200A was also a giveaway a while back, but only for the golden ear crowd that was able to correctly guess which was the real thing and which was the VSTi. It was close enough not everyone was getting a copy that is for sure.

Normally the strategy is buy some low priced junk you will never use so you can get the decent free with purchase item. In this case the strategy is to buy something decent for cheap so they throw in something you have no interest in. That being said, I think we can all appreciate a month free of temptation like this one is this far.

honestly think the BB is irrelevant to is signal chain. Easy to get his style of tone with a Strat and a Two-Rock or Dumble, no $150 pedal needed. I've used a King of Tone (which is a more refined BB circuit) for over a decade and since it is a pedal it will reduce the dynamic range and touch sensitivity of a good amp. I've also had an original BB, and while it is better than a tube screamer, it certainly can be improved upon.

It is more of a delay with the ability to set diffused sounds that get into reverb territory. I've had the smaller version for many years due to a giveaway and find it still quite useful and unique even though I have a number of heavy hitter delays and reverbs. Wouldn't pay $30 for it given what I have, but certainly has its place for me.

I tend to agree, but I will say I just tried out the new Machine Learning function in MAutodynamicEQ and it crashed on all 4 attempts.

It probably does. Click the cab, then under that Customer IR and you load from there. Also if you bypass the cabs on any software you could then run Melda's free MConvolutionEZ and load the IR in there. Recall having to do that with Electrum as the cab doesn't' seem like it loads IRs, but can be disabled at the click of a button Related to the CARR matches, you can import those into Tonex which can run in Amplitube (but be aware if you are running the free version it will count against your 20 free ones) from what I understand.

ToneX is far more realistic in sound and feel. I can get usable stuff out of MTurbo Amp with some of the best IRs on the market, but honestly it simply doesn't get used any longer now that I have ToneX and a bunch of aftermarket packs. I've even profiled some of my TurboAMP patches with ToneX to get them in "pedal form" but they all got removed from my 150 pedal slots - overturned by better stuff created with real gear. I could say the same about the others on your list but at least MTurbo Amp has a lot more sounds in the box than the others in your list at a reasonable price point. But note that with MTurbo AMP you do need an external IR loader (with IRSs) or an external cab sim - it will sound truly awful without one.

As I've said before you need to actually buy the more expensive melda plugins to get the "normal" UI which does look a bit different for each plugin. While I own many United Plugins, they don't seem to offer what Melda does over all. Many are less than CPU optimized and offer less in function than Melda even though they are likely developed on a smilar/same platform.
