  1. To me the Output Icon in Sonar [ O ] is much easier to read than the [ o ] in CbB.
  2. I just tried it and it worked here, too. (I tested with CbB 2024.02 build 098.)
  3. @mettelus Thanks for the tips and for the specific time link in the teaser video. I have this as part of a bundle, but haven't explored it. I find this kind of "review" (introductory references to specific strengths and possible uses/benefits) helpful.
  4. And as everyone knows, that's a yes or no question! 😜
  5. If this is the same issue as another post you did, I replied in the other thread.
  6. MIDI data is not audio. MIDI provides computerese that tells MIDI devices what to do (e.g., turn notes on/off, sustain notes, change various parameters, etc.). DAWs can record MIDI data and audio. If you want the audio to be recorded on an audio track in a DAW you need a way to get the audio into the computer. If the yahama arius ydp-181 uses a USB cable, check the manual to see if it is just for sending MIDI data to the computer or if it can also send audio. If it just sends MIDI data, to record audio you will need to get the audio output(s) from the piano connected to the audio input(s) of your computer. Generally people use an audio interface for that as those tend to be better than using an audio chip or audio codec built into your computer. UPDATE: I found a manual online. It looks like (1) the USB cable is for storage only, (2) 5-pin DIN cables are used for sending MIDI to a computer which can be done with a MIDI USB cable or a bona fide interface, and (3) there are no line level audio outputs. I saw references to speakers and to headphones. I'll let someone else address whether or not you can get headphone level audio into a computer and how to do it, if it's possible. I have only used line level outputs from MIDI gear.

  8. BTW, I saw there's also a Back Stage Pass version of Cakewalk Next. I mention that in case some of you might want to test drive the new Cakewalk Exchange Format. Since the initial posts and discussions starting when the two new products were announced, I wondered if Next would be convenient for my workflow as a tool to develop ideas to be developed more fully in Sonar. Just mentioning this in case others might want to test a similar workflow that involves using both products.
  9. In the interest of clarity, I removed it yesterday before I saw @Terry Kelley's reply once I found the Back Stage Pass link / file by clicking on the "NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH BACK STAGE PASS" link. I did not keep track of the time intervals between posting the emoji, realizing that @Terry Kelley might have been referring to the Back Stage Pass version, and removing the emoji. If someone wants to make an issue of it, I suppose Windows kept track of the time stamps and if so, I might be able to provide find those details. 😜
  10. In part because you didn't provide the web page you used, and the only Cakewalk Sonar pages I found that had a download link was for a Back Stage Pass file as @SirWillyDS12 stated several hours later. It was unclear from your post if that's the link you had in mind. I hope this clarifies why I used the confused emoji for your post.

  14. Thanks for checking. You probably saved me from finding other issues! 😉
  15. Uh Oh. I might still have SONAR X3 PE on my previous audio computer. Thanks for the heads up. As time permits I will check. Which build of X3 did you use? Not sure it will make a difference, but it might. PS: I just noticed the header in this warning: Maybe the issue involves BitBridge?
  16. LOL, OK. I see what you were doing. You were also providing picture proof for these points. Makes sense now.
  17. You were confused about others being confused.
  18. Sorry if anything I posted confused you. I thought the points raised in the discussion were quite clear.
  19. Thanks for the comments. I've figured out the problem, sort of: I have 2 of these VCA Compressors listed in Softube Central! (Never had one before.) Both the web page and iLok only show one. It works in CbB and another host. That's good enough for me Maybe someday I'll try uninstalling the one that's not activativated.
  20. The publisher (Audio Hero) has YT videos. At least one of them (Overview) shows how to download them. You can get the link from any of the HB sound pack details.
  21. FYI 1: Here's the old announcement for the MixBox Expansion Pack. FYI 2: Evidently they were included for no extra fee at some point.
  22. There was at one point a product offered called "Sunset Sound Reverb Collection Upgrade for MixBox." IIRC it was a special deal for owners of the Sunset Collection that would work in MixBox. At the time it was $10 (or $7 with $3 in jam points).
  23. Good idea. I waited several hours yesterday after there were website issues before downloading it and the plug-in worked, so I assumed I was OK. I already decided to see if rescanning CbB's VSTs will trigger a correction, but I might as well just let the rescan continue.
