I have several songs that I use the Waves Master Buss Compressor on the entire master buss to add a bit of compression to the overall mix. I'd like to bring them up to RMS volume standard so when I play them in my car they are close to the same volume as the radio stations in my area. I got Ozone as a freebie a few years back and that will do the trick, but where in the chain should I put them in the master buss? Ozone first or MBC? Thanks! 🙂 John B

Great use of freebees. The rhythm is catchy and you provide some great ear candy with the rest. I have some freebies from years ago that I kept and backed up. My favorite has always been the Mini DIZI flute by Chinesewinds. I use it quite a bit in my tunes. I got it from KVR Audio some years back but I don't if I'd trust it now. Too many viruses and malware for me. 🙂

I thought the solo cello towards the beginning was too loud anyway, so I brought it down. I checked and the verb was "baked in" from the instrument (UVI player). I took it completely down at those spots and did a Send Return reverb (Breverb) in the mix. I like it better that way anyway. Thanx! Yeah, a pro would probably mix the whole thing different anyway (or more than likely, just shoot it down). 🤪JB

I have a dedicated music computer. It's a Lenovo Core i5 (full description in my signature below) running Windows 8. Lately, I've been getting blue screen errors that say IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and it has to restart. When it does restart it sometimes takes an awful long time to. It will get up to the Welcome Screen and take several minutes there or it will go from Welcome to a dark blank screen for sometimes are song as 10 minutes or more before Windows finally starts. I'm seeing this happen in a pattern now where when the Performance meter memory in Cakewalk (bottom line) gets above 15% it will go into a blue screen and do what I described above. Then, when it reboots and I restart Cakewalk the Performance meter will go down to about 8%, but creep it's way back up gradually and eventually does BS error again. I thought it was driver problems with my Scarlett but it happened when I swapped that out for my old Toneport UX2. My PC tech says it could mean different things. Back in 2019 I upgraded from 8 gb RAM to 16. I don't think it did any of this before then. Any ideas? 😀John B

This is different than your usual style, Fred. Sounds more Pop than Blues but you pull it off nicely. Lyrics are so true. We never got hurricanes up where I am until 2012 with Sandy. Now I dread it as much as anybody else does. You never know where they're gonna go. 🙂John B

Hey Tom. Thanks so much for your observations. Fact is, you and Jessie are correct. It is "experimental". It just kind of rolled off my back. I had more fun creating it but take it less seriously than some of my other tunes. You are also right regarding the bass velocities in Trilian but the kind of bass you choose also plays into that funkyness factor. String verb? I think it is "baked in" but I'm not sure. I'll have to check the settings in the project. I could adjust it. Would you suggest more or less? 🙂 John B
