  1. Got a MIDI pack for EZ Keys $12.00.
  2. Honestly, I think that the AIR Velvet A200 sounds much better! Five Legendary Electric Pianos "Velvet is a virtual electronic piano that combines five legendary electric pianos from the 60s and 70s into one versatile instrument. Based on the Fender Rhodes Suitcase, Fender Rhodes MK I and MK II Stage Pianos, Wurlitzer 200A and Hohner Pianet-T, Velvet accurately emulates the sound quality, response, and nuances of each original instrument to bring your piano tracks to life. Additionally, Velvet features a pallet of onboard effects and allows you to control every aspect of the sound for unparalleled realism: turn up the tube drive controls in the preamp section to warm up your tone; adjust the timbre, dynamic response, and velocity curve to customize the playing feel; and mix in the sound of pedal and other keyboard mechanical noises to recreate an authentic electric piano track."
  3. Nothing wrong with a hefty PSU. It will run cool and quiet if it's not fully loaded. Better to have some headroom on the spec. I usually build mine with at least a 600 watt PSU now, regardless of whether I will be adding a GPU. Here is my CPU and GPU power usage at idle with just a DAW and a web browser open:
  4. I suspect that is true! I have a decent Nvida GTX 1650 installed, and its usage shows up in the Windows Task Manager Performance tab. When I seem to be running a heavy plugin load, I often glance at Task Manager to see what's happening. At times I notice that my GPU is taking a pretty big slice of the work. But I can imagine that if I was only using my CPU integrated graphics, that my CPU would be taking that hit. And my Nvidia GPU only has one fan and runs cool and quiet.

  6. I shouldn't have downloaded the Wavestate demo. Probably gonna cost me $99 that I can't afford, LOL! 🤣 When I ran the installer, I got a screen towards the end that prompted me to either locate an existing database, or download a new one. I just created a new folder on my samples drive and dropped the database download there using the browse to path function. Works great!
  7. Ooohh! He said "organic". Ya hear that @Fleer???
  8. It's probably not in the same league as dedicated Wurli emulations, but if you already own the KORG Triton plugin it's worth checking out the keyboard presets. There are many good ROMpler based bread and butter presets, including a bunch of decent e-pianos with a few Wurlis among them. Just happened to notice this while I was messing with the KORG...
  9. Don't know which upgrade would apply for you, but here's the whole list: https://korg.shop/software/korg-collection-series.html Special Bundle v2 upgrade is $149, and from Special Bundle and Legacy Bundle it's $199. Coupon is required from Korg ID to validate your upgrade.
  10. That Wavestate Native sure looks interesting! If you can run that without owning the hardware Wavestate I think I would rather drop my $99 on that one, rather than the 3 new KC instruments.
  11. I would have to agree with the IK Hammond B-3X as number 1, then Arturia B-3 V for a close second. Judging strictly by my ears, as I am not an organist. Try the demos... IK developed their B-3X in collaboration with Hammond, so hopefully they got things right! The Leslie rocks!
  12. Upgrade from KORG Collection 3 for $99. *This product for KORG Collection users only, input of coupon code is required. You need login to KORG ID and obtain coupon code. https://korg.shop/software/korg-collection-series/korg-collection-4-upgrade-for-korg-collection-3.html https://www.korg.com/us/products/software/korg_collection/legacy.php

    Dune 3

From hearsay around the interwebs, I have heard that Dune 3 and Zebra 2 are possibly the best sounding synths available, based on their oscillators and filters. Not to mention that there are a lot of presets available for them. I don't own either, but have the CM versions of both and have also tried the demo versions. Their full versions on are my shopping list!
  16. I updated my earlier post. It seems that I reinstalled Transfuser 2 at some point.
  17. I get ya, I also have senior moments now and then... 😂
  18. Streamed live on Sep 16, 2022 Edit: this was just prior to their release of Cherry Audio "Sines". GX-80 was still on the drawing board and no hints were dropped here about it. The "teaser" in this video was referring to "Sines". But this is an interesting view into their synth design approach. "Music Technology Discussion with Rob Puricelli, Ben Simpson, Kent Spong and our very special guests, Dan Goldstein & Mitchell Sigman of Cherry Audio! This week we're delighted to welcome back Dan & Mitchell of Cherry Audio, a company that in the last few years has grown its reputation for quality, affordable and quite excellent software synths that emulate some of the more quirky synthesizer classics such as the ARP Quadra, Jupiter 4 and Realistic MG-1, as well as classics like the Memorymoog and Polymoog, their own Dreamsynth and their latest instrument Elka-X!" 0:00 - Intro and welcomes 7:05 - Cherry Audio Interview Pt.1 - https://www.cherryaudio.com 56:15 - WORLD PREMIERE! 19. Just for FYI, this is my personal opinion only regarding the "legacy" classic AIR instruments. Disclaimer: no hi-res support and un-scalable interfaces, and they are apparently no longer being maintained so they are what they are. But for $5 or $10 a pop, what's there to complain about? I have had the AIR AIEP collection for about 6 years. Still on-board here, and can make excellent, usable sounds: DB33 - decent B-3 organ simulation with speaker cabinet emulation. Useful unless you have something better like the IK Hammond B-3X, or the Arturia B-3 V. Hybrid 3 - decent hybrid synth with two layers, 3 oscillators and a step sequencer per layer, allowing for some interesting moving patches. Loom 2 - a unique additive synth (using up to 512 sine wave partials) and features over 30 different modules, which can be freely combined into any of the 10 cells, making for an interesting semi-modular experience. There are over 350 patches included in Loom 2, including some designed by Richard Devine, new for Loom 2. MiniGrand - decent sampled grand piano, useful if you still need a piano. theRiser - Synth-based Transition Designer - sweep, noise, and chord oscillators for generating rises, falls, crescendos , decrecendos, etc. Transfuser 2- groove box that lets you create and tweak grooves, chop up beats and phrases, time-stretch sounds, re-pitch notes, randomize sequences, and more – all on the fly. Vacuum Pro - decent virtual analog with 2 layers. Velvet - decent e-piano with Rhodes and Wurli emulations. Useful if you need an e-piano. Xpand!2 - lightweight ROMpler that is 4-part MIDI multitimbral (four sound slots, so each can be assigned MIDI ch 1-4) with 2500+ presets. Lots of bread and butter sounds in this lightweight instrument. Great sketching tool! Had issues and uninstalled/no longer use (these each have rather large disk footprints, and I have replaced them with more modern instruments): Strike - drummer Structure - sampler Not really one of the legacy AIR instruments, and not one of the latest, but AIR Drum Synth 500 (electronic drums) is a great deal for $9.00 at AIR: https://www.airmusictech.com/virtual-instruments/drum-synth-500.html "To get you started, Drum Synth 500 gives you over 500 drum sounds, 500 drum samples, 50 drum kits and 500 MIDI drum loops which can be loaded into any DAW and used to kick-start your song or production." Individual instrument channels for Kick, Snare, Hats, Clap, Toms, Percussion and two Sampler channels for any mono or stereo .wav audio file. Load your own sounds into two separate Sampler channels, including loop, forward and reverse playback!
  20. Not following you with that reply, but cheers, anyway! I just didn't want to take credit for that question. No problem!
  21. You quoted me, but it was actually User 905133 that asked that question...
