  1. Here is the control map for MODO Bass. Might take some work to draw in some desired keyswitches in the piano roll and/or automate some CC parameters, to approximate the EZBass "fancy" articulations. All controls in the "Type" column can be set to "Off/Control Change/Learn", or they each have an additional "Type" option that might vary between one of: "Keyswitch/PW/Aftertouch". Keyswitch values can be adjusted up or down from C-2 to E7. Latch is "On/Off".
  2. I think I am going to experiment with playing back EZBass patterns using MODO Bass as the instrument. I would expect to have some issues where patterns are optimized to work with the EZBass instrument itself, but heck, that's still better than no patterns in MODO...
  3. The EZBass series seems to be a great tool for songwriters. The fact that you can drag all EZBass MIDI patterns out to your DAW tracks is a big plus! As far as the upright bass gap goes, I obtained the Ample upright bass this year. That is one sweet sound! I also have MODO Bass, and agree that is a very versatile bass VST with a great sound! If IK just added an upright model it would be even more awesome! Also have Waves Bass Fingers, and a couple of UJAM basses, but haven't melded with them yet. My Fender P-Bass is still in the closet, needing new strings.... 🤣
  4. Yup. I have several old controllers that have factory drivers. But I was just saying not to expect that from new controllers, at least until you verify.
  5. Sine Player shows up as a VST2 under "Orchestral Tools" in CbB here. Works great! Make sure that you install the plugin to your current VST scan path, or add the Orchestral Tools plugin install path to the CbB plugin scan paths.
  6. Not all do anymore. Probably something to look into when controller shopping, if that is an important factor for you. Not really an issue for me as I rarely run more than one MIDI application or DAW at a time. For example, I bought an Arturia KeyLab Mk II this year. From the Arturia manual:
  7. I think that "in your face" aspect is because most Syntronik presets are heavily effected. As Jordan suggests, turn the effects rack off, and Syntronik is as "dry as a bone".
  8. What keyboard did you plug in? And yes, the tips above ^^^ are all good ones. The computer first needs to recognize the USB device, before any audio software can use it.
  9. The thing with ASIO4ALL, or any other "generic" ASIO, if you have it installed and then add a "real" ASIO for your interface, it will probably conflict and prevent your DAW from locating the real one. I ran into this garbage when trying a Steinberg demo. It had installed a "Generic ASIO" driver that I was not aware of. So if you have been running one of those "unnecessary" ASIO clones, you had best wipe it clean before you attempt to use the real thing. But If you run ASIO4ALL with just an on-board OEM audio chip, you shouldn't have any issues. But it might be unnecessary for that use, if you can run WASAPI under Win10. WASAPI was optimized for Win10.
  10. Just read the side-by-side comparison linked in the post above yours to see what you get. Each higher level of ST4 includes the sounds from the lower levels. You will need ST4 MAX to get them all.
  11. Even if you get all of the group buy freebie instruments, you still will not have all the instruments offered in ST4 MAX (260GB and 8,000 presets). https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4/ ST4 MAX has a much larger library than the ST4 SE that is included with TSM 2 MAX, and much of the ST4 MAX content is unavailable as separate individual instruments.
  12. Me either. I bought the Ample Upright this year. No hurry here...
  13. Well that deal was emailed directly to me by Spitfire back in early August and was $240. I was enticed over the fence by the PluginGuru Unify library for BBC Discover/Core!
  14. Already stepped up from BBC Symphony Discover to BBC Symphony Core at a user friendly upgrade price. Very nice! Also have the LABS and if you don't already, you should look into it. After all, it's free! https://labs.spitfireaudio.com/
  15. If you look into the UMC202, you are getting into the price territory of the Focusrite Scarlett. https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UMC202HD-BEHRINGER-U-PHORIA-2-Channel/dp/B00QHURUBE The Scarlett Solo is good for one instrument or mic at a time. Stereo out. Full ASIO support from Focusrite. https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface-Tools/dp/B07QR6Z1JB?th=1 But you will still need a good mic with XLR cable to record an acoustic instrument, if you cannot direct input via line. Disclaimer, I am a happy Scarlett 2i2 user. The 2i2 can record two mics or lines at once, perfect for recording from a stereo source via L/R line in, or L/R stereo with two room mics. Or a mono instrument line and a mic.
  16. I hear you, and wish good luck! The hurdle to get past with IK support is getting to someone who is not convinced that you are doing something wrong. I've gone in circles with every contact there, wasting my time. For example, I open a ticket with details, and they usually respond and close the ticket. I respond to reopen the ticket with more details, and they respond again and close the ticket again... I've worked in IT for over 40 years, so do know a thing or two about problem determination and root cause analysis, and could probably run circles around most in tech support.
  17. I agree! But I took the gamble with the internal electronics. It is what is is! I have one woofer in stock shipping this week, and the other is back ordered. I watched a YouTube video on swapping woofers, and I'm sure that I can handle that. Hopefully, it's not in the amp. If it is, I'm S.O.L. G4's up next!
  18. Peter, thanks for responding. But I am sure that the issue is not "global", but actually only affecting older hardware. I experienced the same issue when SampleTank 4 was first released. I am convinced that generally most new software with state of the art features, not necessarily just from IK, is being developed and tested on the latest hardware. When I upgraded from an Intel Core, gen 3 CPU to an Intel Core gen 9, my problem with performance issues was solved!
  19. Anyone considering paying for The Resonator should take a look at the Indiginus version for Kontakt.
  20. The Rokit 8 or 10's would be quite nice! But the 5's were the only thing that would fit on my existing speaker stands! I was originally replacing a pair of M-Audio monitors that had reached end of life. And the Rokits are great at low volume, as you say... The corner of the room I am using now is not set up acoustically, so the 3 foot space is good. I had to downsize 10 years ago from a dedicated spare bedroom/studio.
  21. Well that one should be good for a couple more years!!!
  22. You could raffle off one controller to a lucky soul. Just use every eligible group buy purchase as a raffle entry! Consider it good PR and customer relations, and just bill it to the marketing budget!!!
  23. I bought into SampleTank 4 MAX as a pre-release deal. I was still running my gen 3 at that time. The jump in CPU load in the initial v4 release compared to SampleTank 3, made it almost unusable for me. Last year I upgraded to my current i5-9600K, 6 cores locked at 4.3GHz, with turbo to 4.6GHz. Got a little more breathing room now, and it handles most things I throw at it now without the cooling fans revving up. I get the impression that the devs at IK are building cool new features using the latest hardware, with little regard for optimizing code, so that previous gen hardware can take advantage of them. 😢
  24. Just out of curiosity I tried your Amplitube 5 tests with my i5, 9th gen PC. Here are some numbers that may help establish a benchmark with newer hardware. I do see an increased (doubled) load with the latest version. Amplitube 5 - (tested with VST3) v5.0.3 Audio processing 0.8%; Engine load 5-8% v5.1.1 Audio processing 1.8; Engine load 10-15%
