  1. I like the feature in AD that allows you to modify/alter the drum midi. It does offer a unique way to get a groove that I don't see in other drum programs. I will keep using it for that alone. And it does sound pretty dang good tooo!! That makes it much easier.. : ) [edit] Forgot to add that the new UI for the installer looks a lot like Izotope installer. That maybe the new trend in UI!!!? Also Waves new UI for the Ren plugins follow this type of UI.
  2. Interesting!! Might need to pick this up.
  3. Got a 12tb WD Elements last year around this time for $189.
  4. This is simply not true. Users are certainly not uneducated, by a long shot. I know a lot of Waves users. And there are some pretty smart people that I respect highly. And I also know for a fact that Waves products are not unreliable. I like my Waves plugins. And will keep using them. I have never wup'd, but I may do that one day. It's not out of the question.
  5. Alright, I up'd my Wup with the $23 deal!!
  6. Yes they are, but they still work. And work very well. @telecode 101 X-Hum I have used a little. Got good results I remember, but can't really say if it would do what you need
  7. If it were me and knowing what I know now, I would get one of these: C1 - great transparent comp. It's still one I reach for when wanting to compress something real quick. Well laid out, simple to understand and operate. Audio Track - I tried this one day on a whim and was floored at how good this plugin is. It's a channel strip, plain and simple. But it's a really good one!! Honorable mention: Enigma - You would have to play around with it to see what it can do. Don't let the old UI throw you off. LOTS of sounds can come from this plugin. Wave Tune LT - I use Waves Tune regular version. You will be surprised at how well this works in pitch correction.
  8. EZ Drummer plays the midi ToonTrack Midi expansion packs like a human, not a machine. They are also just midi info, like Starise says. But a kick on EZD is assigned to a different parameter than say the SSD kick, so you would have to reassign the mdid accordingly. Which for some programs, can be a PITA. Groove Monkey has different midi mappings for different drum programs for it's midi it sells. Works well with EZD.

This is what I am seeing when I tried to go to the site:

    New Audio Mixing Site

Thanks for all the info mibby. Sounds like a good site. Will check it out.
  11. Yan, you can call the support line and talk to someone. (Is that an option for you?) They are the best to tell you what's in your account and what's your best upgrade path. I find it confusing to decide which path to take. I see you posted and already called!!
  12. Yes, I have got usable stuff out of it. It is still relatively new to me, so I can't remember details. But I do know that I was.liking what I was getting out of it and that it wasn't really that hard to work with, once you get your head around how it works. Playbeat I never tried. [Edit] I have used Riffer to make piano licks. Also for drum fills. It's a good program. May not be for eveyone. But I like it.
  13. I got a lower version of BiaB. Then each year I would up it to next version. That way I didn't get the full hit of the money. And I was able to learn it before I spent a ton on something I didn't want. It's a good program.

    AAS Chromaphone 3

I like the new UI much better. Seems more intuitive to me.

    AAS Chromaphone 3

Start the project using Chomaphone 3 demo. You will thank me!! UI is much better. So is the sound engine.
  16. I love the sound of Townhouse. To each his own, but it sounds great to me. Almost anything I put it on just gets better. Works great on Master buss.
  17. Have any of you tried WavesTune? Works really well. No, it's not Melodyne. But for what you pay for it..... Like I said, it works REALLY WELL!! : )
  18. Mmmmmm........ I might pick up that... Yes I did!! Got the V76 Preamp for $51!!! Thanks again Larry!!
  19. I thought you.... Never mind!
  20. In this regard ( creating ideas) I find ST4 lacking. It has some really good MIDI that comes with it for making music, but I haven't been able to manipulate them the way I would like. With the guitar strumming,(to me the acoustic guitar sounds are really good), and the MIDI loops for them are good. You are suppose to be able to manipulate them, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I have been meaning to send in a support ticket on it and have forgotten all about it. So I prefer to work in EZ Keys, Obleisk (great program) or something like that to get a fresh idea going. For me it's just easier to work with. There are pianos I prefer in ST4 over EZ Keys, but EZ Keys plays the midi files I create more realistically.
