  1. I guess I never noticed that imported audio files would also do the (number) thing. In my case, this was a new empty project (although I did have another project open at the time). Just for fun I started a fresh instance of Cakewalk and, from the Start Screen, went directly to a new empty project and imported from CD; selected the first couple of tracks, and I get: Track01.cda (5) Track02.cda (6) I then closed the project, and this time, File > New and created an empty project, specifying the name and file system location (rather than the Start Screen "open new project without saving to disk"). Ah. This time I get: Track01.cda (1) Track02.cda (2) So this might be something to do with open file handles and maybe the Start Screen keeps some pre-allocated for the unsaved .cwp. Just for kicks I closed the project and, once again, used the Start Screen to create a new empty unsaved project. This time I see: Track01.cda (6) Track02.cda (7) I'm gonna file this under "interesting, move on". 🙂 Thanks for your reply, @User 905133
  2. I just imported four tracks from an Audio CD: What do the numbers in parenthesis after the track name indicate? I can't figure out their purpose. (There were four tracks in total on the CD)
  3. My eyes! The goggles do nothing! Purple aside, I do like the crisp clear Control Bar and I'm getting twitchy about making a theme with a similar feel. And I am NOT a fan of dark UIs. ... I assume it is not quite ready for download, yet?
  4. Well... it's a new feature and I expect that, just like Arranger and the PRV re-vamp before it, that it may take a few updates to iron out the wrinkles. I think it is important to describe your use case (as you have done) and suggest ways that the new UI can be improved incrementally to mitigate the issues you're having.
  5. First principles. Create a new empty project. one audio track. Import some audio. Cycle through the possible output ports for that track. Do you hear sound at any point? What do you see in Edit > Preferences > Audio Devices ?
  6. Nope. Have you tried toggling View > Display > Values on Envelopes ?
  7. I personally don't know of an option to show only note events in clips and not show controller events. I have an erratic MIDI keyboard controller that likes to emit random cc#65 "Portamento" events for no good reason and I sure like to see when they show up in the data. So personally I'd not want the CC data hidden (let alone Mod wheel and after touch events)
  8. I know, right? This morning I actually deliberately closed the "browser" but left the Synth Rack docked to see if the collapsed tab would show up under that condition, but no - there's just the collapsed bar with "SYNTH RACK" instead of "SYNTH RACK | BROWSER" so I guess it really doesn't need a tab button of its own.
  9. Not quite. YLIP started out as a basic dump of every theme-able element as listed in the Theme Editor. If the entry in YLIP isn't bold text then that means either that I haven't bothered to track it down and document it (because it's obvious), or I haven't found it YET. At the point of determining with 99% confidence that the element is no longer used, I mark it "No Longer Used" or "Obsolete". Thanks for reminding me about this one - the Synth Rack tabs are not used as far as I can tell, and I believe @sjoens is correct about this. I'll mark them as such in the next YLIP update.
  10. I bet that track is marked Automation: Time Base: Absolute instead of Automation: Time Base: Musical.
  11. I don't think that is velocity but it is probably controller data. The Event View will tell you for sure. Try changing the Track Edit filter from "Clips" to "Notes", just for fun
  12. If they sound great in Cakewalk, then it isn't your Audio interface. Changing audio interfaces is not the answer. There must be something not right in the export process. (Chosing the wrong bus, exporting from a submix, exporting as 128 bit mp3, etc. Can you tell us a little more about what you're doing?
  13. You could try using one of the wonderful "light" themes created by forumites in the Themes forum. Or just change these colors, under Edit > Preferences > Customization > Colors:
  14. Well, um, you can: Rate the topic using stars Reply with "Me too!!!!" "Like" the post with a "Good Idea" emoji all of the above
  15. Um... define "Waltz feel". The metronome should provide a "BAP bip bip BAP bip bip" without any difficulty.
  16. I just realized that I really don't cover how to set up clip foreground/background colors in any great detail in the YLIP. I guess I just assumed it was obvious. Yes, these colors are controlled by the current theme, and may be over-ridden by color prefs, or customized on a track-by-track or clip-by-clip basis.
  17. Andrew Byrne created this theme. Updated for 2021.04 (compatibility only) Soft tones highlighted buttons.sth
  18. @Jack Hawk, post your theme here and I'll fix it for you if you like
  19. I've written up my knowledge of how Drum Maps work, and adding the link here for future readers:
  20. Not hijacking the thread, just adding a link in case it is useful to future readers:
  21. Here's everything I know about using Drum Maps in Cakewalk. Blog Post: Drum Maps in Cakewalk Feel free to let me know about errors, or other posts I should link to, or indeed anything. EDIT: I've already added some additional notes, and fixed some errors.
