Cactus Music : I built A 2nd little system todo samples and stuff ….It has A Adata 8200 pro nvme in it .. the new system with a z390a asus and 16g of 3000mhz memory was quite cheep . but power full to them max ! 9600K is right up there with my 8086k that cost 2 times the price.. mother board processor memory .. need my free shopping list ? God I love ThunderBolt !

Bonkieee : Im using firewire here with my Apollo twin mk ll TB .. the firewire is for midi running from FW-410.. Sometimes not often but sometimes on boot it miss's the firewire driver causing a error and restarts and fix's it self.. I noted the error and the code I see says enough that I know its the firewire drivers in WIN 10.. In short 10 is really good , but from time to time you get some BS.. no biggie !

Bill this is why people have systems built for them or build them selves ! there should be a option in the bios to select boot order and you can try F8 on boot ! PLAN B Return it .. I or others here can give you a parts list to have built .. that will save you $$ and blow Dell builds away !

Thanks for the Link and Input : Laptop is A Lenovo intel core 2 duo cpu T5250 @ 1.5ghz win 7/32 2g mem... Think it will cut it ? As for interface would A Behringer UMC 204HD work well...... and is there a difference in audio quality between this and a say A Focusrite unit ?

There is no question : I'm sticking to intel as this 8086k build is near perfect..in general I go main stream boards like Asus z370-a … as I don't want extra features. TB with Apollo mk ll twin is sonic and flawless .. Happy Tracking !

Misha : got to your thinkpad support page and do or re do the INF/chipset driver ..In bios turn off on board audio and anything else your not using .. win 10 updated here with no issues .. this time.. some times I have to reinstall my m-audio firewire 410 driver cause update screws it up.. you might want ti reinstall your audio driver … too

TVR : Chk your bios rev ...and your motherboards chipset driver.. see you use the 1 from you motherboards support page and your video driver and lastly your firewire driver .. I will chk back later !
