  1. Nice song. Dig the groove. I f you want to send me the backing track and a copy of the lyrics I'll send you a recording with a female vocalist maybe you could use. I know two over here in Norway who would fit that gender. All the best with this one. Gary
  2. For those who have been following this thread... Here is an example of trying to create an orchestral composition with a studio recording feel without the live effects. EQ is still very hard to do!
  3. Love it!. Very nice. Can you recommend a good whistling library. Dont know if you've heard of Rodger Whitaker... a famous whistler from the UL:
  4. I listened to it again.... no clicks? very strange... I played it a few times yesterday and clicked in the same places.... sorry about that. Clear as a whistle now. Anyway... still a great arrangement and I liked it a lot.
  5. Thanks Bjรธrn. Thats what I tired to achieve... getting there ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. You have such a talent Larry. I really hope your publisher is making use of it.
  7. Shaft or the Streets of San Francisco ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Thanks for the comments guys. Next challenge is to make it so it doesn't sound live and closer. Great way of learning how to use reverb and delay ๐Ÿ™‚
  9. Love funk... its still cool here in Norway.
  10. Nice production and love the video editing. Great use of masks and layers.
  11. Very nice. I wonder how that would sound with a barrel organ?
  12. After listening to all the suggestions I have gone through the mix again. I think this is to sign of on now. Been a great exercise and thanks for all the comments.

    High Road

I also have BFD3. SSD5 and Trigger. Superior Drummer 3 I am really pleased with and find it logical and sounds great. But I am just learning drum programming. I have not really done much with my own music but enjoy mixing a lot. Most of my work is within live sound and TV/video, Since I joined Cakewalk many moons ago... I have learnt so much from here. I am now retired and have a modest studio set up here above my stables and need to work on some of my own stuff that I wrote when I was 19+ which I never got to put down. All the best. Gary

HI Dan. I was only thinking I hadn,t heard from you for quite a while... then here you are. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have learnt a lot from your mixing skills over the years. The sense of space and clarity you create is top notch. I recognized Omnisphere and the kontakt stuff but not the guitars. BFD3 sounds great! (I just got the decades pack... so just learning how to use BFD3) Well done... looking forward to hearing some more ear candy from you again.
  15. Well I wasn't expecting that. I thought it was really good and different for sure. What was the instrument that sound like someone putting their finger in their mouth and popping the cheek? There are a few pops and clicks... is that intentional? Gonna give it another listen.
  16. lol. your bass donโ€™t suck. lol never thought about that when i made the reply. : 0 ) every song is worthy!!
  17. Hi Bats. I dont listen that much to your music because its not really my style. I appreciate the good production and performances. N fact I have just bought your album to support you in your work and show some appreciation. I hope others do too. All the best with next productions. Gary
  18. I also get this problem with my Orion Studio. Its the thunderbolt driver that does it for me. A restart... and some how it works again.
  19. Very nice.. Wide mix. Deeeep Bass. Some how to me it sounded like it was being sucked in... cant explain what I mean here. Is the cello buried in some of those frequencies?
  20. I fully understand Larry. Keep up the amazing work.,
  21. Brilliant again. Would love to put your stuff through my samples. A very talented mind you have my friend.
  22. Thanks for listening and the encouragement @freddy j I can't say I know about classical music... Im just in awe how some people can compose and hear so many things in a composition. In the old days there where no PA systems or mixers... the stage was the mix itself. The classical composers where the rock stars of the day. For me the challenge was seeing if I could get it as real and sound not so computer generated.
