I just listened to all three versions of this song, and I can hear the steady improvement with each mix. You have a terrific song to work with, and with just a few adjustments this could be a gem. On the last version, I hear a tiny bit of distortion on the bass or low end element of the mix, which can easily be tamed by backing it down a tad or using less compression (if you're using it). It has enough bottom to carry the song. As for the guitar, it has improved but is lacking a bit of "warmth" to my ears. Perhaps, adding a db or two in the 300-500 hz range, or cutting some upper mids a bit in the 2 khz area. Either way, when you get there, you will have something to be proud of.

No critiques, just praise! Your voice sounds smooth, and the production is polished. Most of all, you write beautiful melodies that convey so much emotion. You're on a roll!

Music like this has healing aspects. This is exactly what I'd listen to before or after a tension filled day. You can never have too much beauty in the world!

It ain't paint-by-numbers music, and it's not easy to produce. I like this song (Jung) too!

What Jack said. However you produced this, it's stellar; I love the stereo panning that gives it a huge sound! A good template for the rest of us. -
Hi Freddy, I'm so happy you got to hear this. Several people here have helped me get this in shape, so coproduction credits to all! Thank you for you kind words!

I love Sonar 7 and still have a copy of it somewhere. I love your work because I never know what to expect! The last thing in the world this song needs is quantization!! I'm building up my nerve to go out on a limb, too, and you'd be my inspiration.

John, I listened to this the other day, but didn't have time to comment. I see that you may have removed this, but I was able to track it down and enjoy it again! The sophistication in your songs has grown exponentially since I've known you. You even inspired me to buy EZ Keys, for which I am grateful. As good as you are, you should take comfort in your art because it gives comfort to others! Your last several songs are tremendous, and I hope you keep it up as long as you can.

Keith, I'm glad I caught this before it disappeared because this is fantastic!! The words and message are a perfect reflection of my own thoughts, at times. I don't have as much time anymore, but I'm going to listen to this a few more times. Great job!

This is a beautiful recording of a lovely song! It makes me want a classical guitar. Very cool!

This is so vintage! Your voice really shines on this, both lead and harmonies. As sparse as this arrangement is, it is full and airy which makes it sound BIG! Dry those baby's tears, man!!

This is what I want to hear if I ever vacation on Jupiter or Saturn. Great vision!!

Mark, this is a shining example of what can be done with the tools that come with CW and a few freebies. When you supply the talent, it becomes priceless!

That's a pretty chord progression, Larry. I look forward to hearing this when you're satisfied with it. Good luck with the new PC, however, take anything GC says with a grain of salt. They're not supportive of CW because it's free, and their goal is to sell, sell, sell. If an audio interface and MIDI controller is all you need then read through this forum. This has been covered many times. -
You nailed this, Bjorn! You are truly an idea machine, and I never know what to expect from you. I love that!!

I have to echo what Larry T. said. This is haunting music, the kind I love, and is so lush. I can't wait to hear it again! Keep it up!!

Most people bounce to clips after making an edit, which is the solution to this problem. If, however, one can't make up their mind if they want to keep the edits, then do your Melodyne edits on a copy of your track (and archive the original track, in case you want to make changes later) then bounce to clips. I recommend that you edit only short phrases at a time to shorten the process.

Great song and arrangement! Yeah, a longer intro would be nice, other than that, this is a gem.

I really like the way you tackle the issues of the day. This time you used a beat that I find very appropriate for the message. This is a global problem, and you said what many people need to hear! Don't give up! I really like this on a visceral level, and that's what it's all about.

I lived in Portland for a while from 1986-87, and these homeless camps were just beginning to spring up. You captured the mood brilliantly! This deserves a wide audience. You are a great example for the rest of us!

Nigel, I don't get what YT is worried about, considering some of the content that I've seen from them. However, the song is terrific, and the video is fantastic. I like the fact that it's a little different from what I expected, but that is why you are so far ahead of the pack! Keep 'em coming!

This is beautifully produced and performed! The tones are marvelous, and the writing is upbeat. This is the kind of song that makes people happy to listen to. No small feat. Congratulations!
-
Beautiful guitar work! It makes me want to get a classic guitar, but there would be a learning curve~~~ I think I'll just listen to you some more.

Awesome! This production just shines. I'd like to hear more from you!
