Another trip in the time machine! You have quite a collection of "warped" songs. See you around the galaxy!
  2. Douglas, you are on a roll! You are consistent in your approach, and your music always takes me to a better place. You have taught me to take another look at TH-U, and I appreciate that; it is one of the more versatile amp sims. Well done.
  3. I love the way you cover Beatles' songs! This is a terrific version of a great song. Keep em coming!
  4. I like this mix better than the last one. Your vocal performance is very strong and emotive, and the EQ is smoother. I have no problem with the ending, but a slow fade over the final few measures might work well. All in all, very tasty!
  5. This is a great song seeking a great mix! I love the vocals in this, in spite of not quite understanding all the words. This song is not lacking for passion, just a little finesse in the final mix. My only suggestion would be to listen to this on as many monitors and systems as possible and go from there. I'll be back!
  6. A beautiful song and vocal performance. I never know what to expect from you, and this is a pleasant surprise. This is the kind of song I want to listen to again and again, so you nailed it with me!

What's got into you, Bjorn? This is the trippiest thing I've heard in years. It makes me want to travel to Portland for some reason.
  8. Fabulous, Nigel! I've watched you so much that Devine Lie is in my favorites list on YT. You never disappoint.
  9. The song is terrific, and your passionate vocal shines. The mix is very, very close. It sounds like a fun song to play with. Maybe rolling off some highs will get you there. No matter, good songwriting.
  10. I like your ears, Jesse! I'd like to go down this path, too. Stay tuned.

    Cool it Down

Just beautiful! The production is a good example for the rest of us. Alas, it ended before I was ready for it to end. That's a good sign!
  12. The song is fantastic, and the sound is BIG. I wonder if the vocal would seem louder with a touch less reverb. That would bring it forward in the mix somewhat, but I like f/x and like the way you use them in general. Rock on, Paul!
  13. Terrific song and video. I really enjoy your work!
  14. I want to take the time to thank Freddy for letting me contribute to this fine song. As Freddy noted, I made a few changes based on your comments which were spot on, especially about the timing flaws of the rhythm guitar. As for the panning of the guitars, I used Frampton's live album "Frampton Comes Alive" as my template for live recording, which has a rather wide soundstage. It really depends how close to the stage the listener is. To me, the star of this song is Freddy's voice, which is so resonant that it is a pleasure to work with. And, his lyrics are consistently well thought out and socially pertinent to our times. Here's to the future!
  15. Bjorn, this is brilliant! I need some munchies...

"The only thing that stands out to me is that your song is mastered plenty loud, but at the expense of a wider dynamic range, which would allow the song to "breathe" from a greater variation in volume levels throughout the song." please explain how to do this.i don't play the loudness game Actually, you do play the loudness game when your song is the same volume from beginning to end. Not every instrument or vocal line has to be maxed out. Variation in volume levels from section to section help the song to breathe and lessens listener fatigue. This can be done by dropping an instrument in certain places, and/or not singing at full volume all the way through. There's much literature on this that's widely available under the heading "dynamics". Hope this helps.

Jack, this is one of the coolest songs I've heard lately. Your arrangement is clever and your performances are terrific. I can almost understand most of the words, but no matter, I like the style. The only thing that stands out to me is that your song is mastered plenty loud, but at the expense of a wider dynamic range, which would allow the song to "breathe" from a greater variation in volume levels throughout the song. That may be nitpicking too much, however, as you have a style, and I like it.

Wow, where have I been? This is mesmerizing and one of my favorites. It should be on your greatest hits album!

Rex, your versatility is amazing. It will pay off for you in the long run. I could hear this being played in clubs, should they ever reopen. I love experimenting with electronics, too, but I'm not as fresh as you are. Keep experimenting, but don't quit writing songs like "Eternity", which is one of the loveliest songs I've heard in a while.
  20. I'm a little late to this party, but I'm glad I made it! It seems like you're more polished but raw at the same time. I like this song as much as any you've posted, and I can hear the confidence in your performance quite easily. You really know how to make the most of your equipment, and you've helped change my direction from time to time. Kudos!
  21. Another sterling song from this album! I like everything about this production. I find it to be very inspirational, so excuse me if I ever attempt something like this;)
  22. As always, brilliant! There is so much depth in this that one has to listen several times to take it all in. You keep setting the bar higher and higher each time you try something new. Carry on
  23. John, I caught this song the other day but didn't have time to comment. I think it's a terrific song and showcases your increasing professionalism. Please put it back up! Don't let one person's opinion discourage you.
  24. Kevin! I just listened to this twice, and I'm ready to jump back in. To me, the arrangement is the star on this tune, which makes it sound very fresh. Your vocal work has what I look for- texture and feel. Take a bow!
  25. First class all the way! Your voice is killer and reminds me somewhat of Seal. The video is superb, as well. Keep it up!
