I had authorized a few other of my machines a few weeks ago w no problems . On the laptop I'm on I hadn't used CakewalkbyBandlab in a number of months . After digging around, it appeared to me that I had no other option other than reinstalling the BandLab assistant ... I honestly wouldn't mind finding out what the real deal is .... Kenny

Yes I just got the same notification ... To make a long story short I hit the learn more tab and was led to the BandLab assistant web page The link here shows where I wound up after poking around a little ..It has the answers I needed to find https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002692134-What-is-BandLab-Assistant-Do-I-have-to-use-it- After reviewing my situation I wound up having to down load BandLab assistant ...It used to be I didn't have to have it any more so I uninstalled it ... Now it looks as if I want to continue to use Cakewalk by BandLab I have to use it once again . After installing and logging in to the BandLab Assistant I got this BandLab notification ... I left the web page up for my scree shot or It would have been just the BandLab assistant box open Where it says Cakewalk up to date I reopened Cakewalk by BandLab using the open tab I found I had been reauthorized . I wonder if anyone who want's to continue using Cakealk by Badlab will have to go back to and install the BandLab Assistant for all future re authorizations ... I suppose that may be what they have in store for all Cakewalby Band Lab when they roll out the Paid version of SONAR Kenny

Some of these software companies need an overall reality check . They seem to act as if people didn't have any tools at all to create music before computers and software hit the scene . Over the past 18 years I have spent a large amount of my disposable income on DAW's plugs and Software ....and you want to know something ? None of it is worth a plug nickel any more . Most of it I can't resell , what I can resell I have to render unto Caesar first , then when I go to sell it in all honestly in most cases it is not worth the headaches or aggravation to deal with these companies and pay license fees to transfer the software over to someone else .. I will admit software offers a musician a lot of convenience , but things seem to be heading down a road where the whole software experience is getting to the point where it may not offer much as far as an aggravation free experience ..... When I play my guitars and real musical instruments I don't have to pull up to the guard shed and have the corresponding authority check my papers before he decides to lift the gate so I can pass on through ... Software companies act as if I don't have any rights to the software I purchased out right in the past . Reason 11 is all I can handle right now and I don't like the idea of being strong armed into having to upgrade to Reason 12 . Also I don't do subscriptions . I aint gonna pay to play and the days of me spending up to 300 bucks plus a year on any companies software yearly upgrades are long over . To clear my head , I'm gonna grab and play a guitar I bought over 40 years ago . Did I happen to tell ya'll I own that mother effing guitar out right ? rant over Kenny

WHY EVEN BOTHER MAKING MUSIC??? When even " my own guitar is sometimes against me " .... It just happened to me again tonight . My guitar didn't feel like behaving or sounding the way I wanted it to sound when I first started playing it on this song. So I grabbed it by the strings rather tightly and started choking it's neck to get it's full undivided attention! Sometimes you just got to show your guitar who the boss is.? Kenny
