Simple really. I propose a much more intuitive option than the current menus or inspector tab. In an ideal world this would use the same keys as the PRV but the are already taken in the default track view bindings so my alternative would be pair of global transpose Up/Down buttons specifically for the track view which could be bound to something like : = Transpose down a semitone or when shifted down an octave = Transpose up a semitone or when shifted up an octave

Thanks, just wanted to show that people use CBB for ( semi in my case ) professional purposes - I know of a few others who do it too using CBB The TV people don't care what DAW you used ? As far as the money goes you need a lot of tracks out there to make anything but it should build over time - I'm aiming to write 120 tracks this year - made 15 so far so I am on schedule.

5 years ago this week I decided to try and get into writing instrumental music for TV shows, it's been a big learning curve but I've been a Cakewalk user since the mid 90's I've written around 400 track in that 5yrs - most of those are now in Music Libraries where they can be used by various TV production companies - it's a tough gig , I've had about 50 TV shows use my music now, the money is not amazing but seeing your music on TV is kinda cool. Here is a playlist of a bunch of them

Direct sidechaining routing options from plugin
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to solarlux's topic in Feedback Loop
I think it will be a game changer for certain electronic styles, side-chaining is all over them and the easier you can make it the more you will attract those types of producers. That's why there are a bunch of plugins that emulate side-chaining like Kickstart , LFO tool , Duck etc. as it's often easier to drop one of those on a track. Great to hear it's on the to do list, CW just gets better and better. How much do I need to bribe you to implement nested track folders ? ? -
Yes helpful for you maybe... like I said we all have different workflows. I have some very large sessions and make a lot of music but I have never once thought Sonar or CW was needing anything extra for this. I would much rather they added sub folders to the folder view, this would help me out way more

Everybody's workflow is different, personally I think it's actually quicker to hit the "H" shortcut than going over to the Inspector and finding it in there. If you want to solo a folder you can already do that in the standard view And quickly hide all the other folders if you prefer.. Personally I wouldn't want the extra bloat in the Inspector for something that already works pretty well Maybe there is a better way ? Maybe you could have a new SOLO MODE ? i.e It could be an extension of the " Exclusive Solo " Button ....so if you right clicked there would a tick box option to say something like " Auto Hide Tracks On Exclusive Solo " And when activated only the exclusively solo'd track / folder / buss would be visible ( and audible ) ..that seems more streamlined and logical to me without taking up extra space in the GUI or forcing on those that wouldn't work that way.

You can already show and hide whichever Folders you want just by bringing up the Track Manager ( shortcut H )

Tutorials for Techno, Psytrance with Cakewalk by Bandlab
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to MG_privat's topic in Tutorials
You make any music style in any DAW , if you can't find a specific tutorial in Cakewalk then you can just adapt from whatever they are using. Most tutorials I have watched used Logic but it isn't really so different -
It's a great feature having 2, I do NOT want the Track and the PRV at the same value all the time

Some issues that needs to be rectified as soon as possible
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to AdK Studios's topic in Feedback Loop
I don't lease beats like the OP but I do have to upload deliverables to publishers / music libraries etc. Some of them do ask for " track outs " which is basically every track isolated with all your automation/fx intact. The reason they ask for this is their clients ( usually TV or movie production companies ) want more control and the ability to rebuild the mix and deliver custom mixes after the fact without the need to go back to the original producer. These tracks can get licensed into a TV show or Movie a number of years down the line so having the track outs is a valuable asset to the Publisher and means they can offer more tailored Alt Mixes and charge more for the service. The original Producer also stands to benefit by having more chances to get their music placed so it's in their interest to provide what the Publishers specify but it's a real PITA to do this by soloing each track as most track counts are at least 40+ . Luckily some companies only want Stems ( i.e. Bass - Drums - Guitars - Strings - Keys ) and they can build a more crude custom mix from those which means there's only 10 - 12 stems to export on average. Currently the best way is to use Track Folders for this IMHO ( see above ) but sub folders would be a massive help as you often have to sub-divide stems as well. i.e All Guitars ( Main Folder ) - All Lead Guitars ( Sub Folder ) - All Rhythm Guitars ( Sub Folder ) At the moment you have to deal with this manually. I often have to deliver stems and the best method I have found is to use Track Folders and set one up for each buss / stem. Just mute everything else and do a normal export .- 63 replies

I don't get it either. I wouldn't want the clip name to follow the track names...that would be like saying make all the track names automatically be the same as the Folder they are in...one is a subset of the other , why would you call them the same thing, At best maybe have it as a tick box option " Clip Names Follow Track " ?
-
The closest way to achieve this is to send the contents of a folder to a Bus with : Tracks - Selected Track Output - then select the Bus of your choice

Better if they are all merged into one

The features I would love to see in Cakewalk
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Michiel Beirinckx's topic in Feedback Loop
Having tried all sorts of ways over the years I find the fastest easiest method is Waves SoundShifter plugin. Very simple and quick, non destructive, sounds good enough in most situations. If I need better then I'm spending more time using Melodyne. -

I set mine to the key " U " ...as in U-turn I have stream deck now too so it's got it's own hotkey for when I forget -
[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2021.01 Early Access
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Morten Saether's topic in Early Access Program
They are just right for me on the time ruler..I guess it depends on your screen size etc. This new font seems too big though like a crazy kindergarten font
