  1. Stating Facts. It's quicker. One keypress (b) to open / close the browser and for instruments you can double click and not drag to insert them. If I had to use the old menu I doubt I could be arsed to use my Zynaptique plugins . Jesus.
  2. Browser is way quicker if you have a lot of plugins
  3. That's gonna be one boring track if it repeats the same loop 100 times
  4. So is there no Humanise function baked into Cakewalk ? Surely it can't be too difficult - I've never got on well with the CAL script I have tried either
  5. I know put it pops back out again all the while - You can't have it permanently skinny like it used to be
  6. You are correct about the search field only returning the plugin name which seems logical to me as you can already sort by plugin Manufacturer and find stuff that way if you prefer, personally tend to remember the plugin name more than I do the manufacturer so I guess for now you would have to rename them all for it to work the way you want.
  7. Fair enough. I probably felt the same at first but once I got used to it I could never go back to the old right click-insert method. My EQ one is insanely long ! Have you ever tried Reaper...I have it as a 2nd DAW just in case and I hate the way it lays out my plugins
  8. I don't really have to scroll and it says I've got 715 plugins but I suspect some of those are old 32bit dupes I should have zapped but I've organised them all into my own folders. I'm with you on Track view real estate - I don't like the double sized Inspector and wish I could put it back the way it used to be. But I keep the Browser open as I find it so much quicker to do a text search for a plugin than the old method..and if you have it docked on the left it's not very far to drag ! Shortcut B opens and closes it...or I have a macro on my Streamdeck that closes both the Inspector and Browser with one key
  9. Do you not use the FX Browser then ? I've not used the old method since about 8.5 ...10 yrs ?
  10. No ..I mean I can just look at the screen and know where everything is . When recording I just tend to loop a section and if I mess up - CTRL-Z ....Hit record again...I've never actually used the Punch IN-OUT either..not since the days of tape Haha - once...many many years ago, it's easier to write them on a sheet of paper and pin them up by the mic stand
  11. Not kidding - and I make about 100 tracks per year for Libraries I think what it is they almost all came in later - except maybe the staff view and I don't read music anyway so that's moot. But I already had a workflow and they don't make it any easier so I just never bothered. Actually the Arranger is the one new thing I have used but not for arranging , it's handy for selecting the entire track when you export so if your making stems etc they are always the same length - I find it less fiddly than other methods as it can be done with just a click and I can leave all my spare parts further over on the timeline.
  12. @Will_Kaydo Actually I've been using CW about 25 years and there's loads of stuff I've never used. Staff View - Video - Screensets - Markers - Mix Recall - Ripple Editing - Audiosnap - ReWire - Matrix View - Workspaces - Scale Snap....there's probably others !
  13. Get a Streamdeck and roll your own...that's what I do
  14. Never used either of them TBH
  15. It sounds like the meta normalizer in Wavelab https://steinberg.help/wavelab_pro/v9.5/en/wavelab/topics/audio_montage/loudness_meta_normalizer_c.html
  16. There should be multiple types of solo, there's already two type - normal and exclusive. Maybe you could right click 'em and they light up orange or something and in that mode they enter super solo mode bypassing what you said I suppose it's similar to a PFL button on a console ?....but not quite More options would be good though
  17. Not really the same thing +1 for the virtual controller to be in focus when open
  18. This is an excellent suggestion - I was about to say I would never use the OP's idea and straight lines work well for me....but this way you make it so it's there if needed but doesn't affect those who never use it.
  19. This would be much better than using CAL - there are quite a lot of useful functions missing that are only available as CAL that would would expect to be built into the core midi editing functions. Legato - Humanize - Randomize etc. Personally I have some of them as hotkeys on my Streamdeck
