Cakewalk needs a Humanize feature in the PRV
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Arabic Dude's topic in Feedback Loop
All tried and discarded decades ago. How hard can it be. -
feature request Groove Clip Looping Feature request :)
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Ez Goen's topic in Feedback Loop
That's gonna be one boring track if it repeats the same loop 100 times -

Not really same thing -
Cakewalk needs a Humanize feature in the PRV

So is there no Humanise function baked into Cakewalk ? Surely it can't be too difficult - I've never got on well with the CAL script I have tried either -
Drag and drop functionality in Browser
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Starship Krupa's topic in Feedback Loop
Yes - it's a pain -
I know put it pops back out again all the while - You can't have it permanently skinny like it used to be

Searching with Plugin Browser doesn't return folder names
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Michael Ennis's topic in Feedback Loop
You are correct about the search field only returning the plugin name which seems logical to me as you can already sort by plugin Manufacturer and find stuff that way if you prefer, personally tend to remember the plugin name more than I do the manufacturer so I guess for now you would have to rename them all for it to work the way you want. -
Or using the Browser
-
Fair enough. I probably felt the same at first but once I got used to it I could never go back to the old right click-insert method. My EQ one is insanely long ! Have you ever tried Reaper...I have it as a 2nd DAW just in case and I hate the way it lays out my plugins
-
I don't really have to scroll and it says I've got 715 plugins but I suspect some of those are old 32bit dupes I should have zapped but I've organised them all into my own folders. I'm with you on Track view real estate - I don't like the double sized Inspector and wish I could put it back the way it used to be. But I keep the Browser open as I find it so much quicker to do a text search for a plugin than the old method..and if you have it docked on the left it's not very far to drag ! Shortcut B opens and closes it...or I have a macro on my Streamdeck that closes both the Inspector and Browser with one key
-
Do you not use the FX Browser then ? I've not used the old method since about 8.5 ...10 yrs ?
-
No ..I mean I can just look at the screen and know where everything is . When recording I just tend to loop a section and if I mess up - CTRL-Z ....Hit record again...I've never actually used the Punch IN-OUT either..not since the days of tape Haha - once...many many years ago, it's easier to write them on a sheet of paper and pin them up by the mic stand

Not kidding - and I make about 100 tracks per year for Libraries I think what it is they almost all came in later - except maybe the staff view and I don't read music anyway so that's moot. But I already had a workflow and they don't make it any easier so I just never bothered. Actually the Arranger is the one new thing I have used but not for arranging , it's handy for selecting the entire track when you export so if your making stems etc they are always the same length - I find it less fiddly than other methods as it can be done with just a click and I can leave all my spare parts further over on the timeline.

@Will_Kaydo Actually I've been using CW about 25 years and there's loads of stuff I've never used. Staff View - Video - Screensets - Markers - Mix Recall - Ripple Editing - Audiosnap - ReWire - Matrix View - Workspaces - Scale Snap....there's probably others !

Never used either of them TBH

Loudness Normalisation (offline) of clips
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Wei Liang Yap's topic in Feedback Loop
It sounds like the meta normalizer in Wavelab https://steinberg.help/wavelab_pro/v9.5/en/wavelab/topics/audio_montage/loudness_meta_normalizer_c.html -
There should be multiple types of solo, there's already two type - normal and exclusive. Maybe you could right click 'em and they light up orange or something and in that mode they enter super solo mode bypassing what you said I suppose it's similar to a PFL button on a console ?....but not quite More options would be good though

Not really the same thing +1 for the virtual controller to be in focus when open

Add Envelope gain parameters for \_ / not |_ |
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Max Arwood's topic in Feedback Loop
This is an excellent suggestion - I was about to say I would never use the OP's idea and straight lines work well for me....but this way you make it so it's there if needed but doesn't affect those who never use it. -
Feature Request: MIDI Legato button
Mark Morgon-Shaw replied to Craig Reeves's topic in Feedback Loop
This would be much better than using CAL - there are quite a lot of useful functions missing that are only available as CAL that would would expect to be built into the core midi editing functions. Legato - Humanize - Randomize etc. Personally I have some of them as hotkeys on my Streamdeck -
Simple really. I propose a much more intuitive option than the current menus or inspector tab. In an ideal world this would use the same keys as the PRV but the are already taken in the default track view bindings so my alternative would be pair of global transpose Up/Down buttons specifically for the track view which could be bound to something like : = Transpose down a semitone or when shifted down an octave = Transpose up a semitone or when shifted up an octave

Thanks, just wanted to show that people use CBB for ( semi in my case ) professional purposes - I know of a few others who do it too using CBB The TV people don't care what DAW you used ? As far as the money goes you need a lot of tracks out there to make anything but it should build over time - I'm aiming to write 120 tracks this year - made 15 so far so I am on schedule.

5 years ago this week I decided to try and get into writing instrumental music for TV shows, it's been a big learning curve but I've been a Cakewalk user since the mid 90's I've written around 400 track in that 5yrs - most of those are now in Music Libraries where they can be used by various TV production companies - it's a tough gig , I've had about 50 TV shows use my music now, the money is not amazing but seeing your music on TV is kinda cool. Here is a playlist of a bunch of them
