  1. I have some of these strips from IK, Waves, PA, Cakewalk, and haven't used one yet. I often wonder when you can load effects on a track that these strips are overrated but somehow you think they are really cool or original to use.
  2. Same here. I use to live in the Midwest where I had 3-4 choices of rivers to choose from. I use to have gear for that dream trip to Lake Okecehobee, FL that will never happen. Most people don't know what a walleye is out here. I had to sell half of my rods when I moved out there. The ones I have now are basically ultralight gear. There is so much dust on them. The price of this stuff is much higher now and I wouldn't want to replace them. When I see bass boats being hauled I assume they are going to California. We have a man made lake 30 minutes away but I hate man made lakes. For what I've paid for most of this DAW stuff in the past year in a half I could've gotten a lifetime license. Ironic that the DAW stuff and fishing license would get about the same use. I'm an angler so I don't use bait.

    Windows 11?

Fleer needs a bitch slap for even bringing that song up.
  4. I think it's the end user that isn't near the potential. One could probably go crazy on this. I started watching the videos on this.
  5. I agree with VIs. I stopped buying pianos. I use FL Keys in FL Studio or ones in Live. I can always change the sound later. It's less clicks. I can open up Kontakt and wait, do a lot of scrolling and wait for them to load up and haven't started anything. Every time there is a new string library on the market the response is always wow. Every knew synth is the greatest because of it's sounds design capabilities and it's like this sounds cool but the reality is it sucks in music. I think I've had every version of Komplete since 5 and have yet ever explored maybe 10% of it.
  6. Only if you could've seen my grandpa's garage, He had those tools even for the "what if ' scenario. There are companies that market with "you need this" in everything. I'm startin to believe hoarding is genetic. Walk into a Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop and see all of the magic products for catching fish down to the rods and line. They are designed to lure anglers because fish don't have money. Then there are sponsored users always with a line "this saved me from____________. I think few are disciplined in any field to rely on less. I think those are kids with no money who have to wait for Xmas or birthdays.
  7. It sure is an over saturated market. Gotta have thick skin dealing with the end user. Don't waste time trying to lock down a product because of piracy. Some dude had a scheme where you needed a Blackberry. People steal just to steal. If it;s your top concern don't bother. Give some free stuff. Professors tell kids in "music college" not to do that. Every famous band starting out gave free demos. If it's great people pay for it. Know Kontakt programming really well. Start as a side gig first.
  8. Yep and I think those helped reduced the price to the Kilo everything bundle.
  9. I'd bet those are ones who would never have use for it or use what it was meant for. They will get over it, I still have old Cantabile and only used it for plugin authorization or see if a new plugin would crash before it brings down a DAW. I was using this the same way but also bypassing a DAW to use it with synth tutorials since many developers don't have stand alone versions.
  10. It's also 20 individual links you have to download. It's not in a bundle.
  11. I keep track of how often developers charge for upgrades. As for Bitwig despite what it does it's not for me. I'm that way with Cubase except when the have that .5 upgrade sale I still buy it for $40 and hold out for the new version. What is interesting about Live even though it;s v11 they are still updating 10. Every DAW does meaningful upgrade except for Magix Acid Pro. Look at what is happening with Bandlab and it's free. Fl Studio is another one. Maybe when Bitwig become more financially secure they will change.
  12. My systems hate NI updates. They always fail. I still use the old Windows Install Cleanup which NI uses the same thing. The NI one keeps backups of the registry files. I don't need 16 of those. NI products install quote slow. You can download and install the library files quicker than the plugins to run them.
  13. Quotes from TheSteven In other words - if you bought it from us at sale (ie everyone) then no soup for you! Intro price (for new users) $169 is same price as Gig Performer from developer. PA didn't announce their 'deal' until after the developer's pre-release sale was over... and their (PA's) price is higher than the prerelease developer's price. Expected but still shitty There are other comments as well. The anger is with PA and not Deskew. You're theory does not always apply. Sometimes it makes more enemies than friends (using words like entitled) despite the irrationality of an end user. I don't think you have to defend yourself. I don't think anyone is at the point of "I'll never buy a Deskew product again". You were obviously more than fair for people buying direct from you. Unfortunately software often creates a lot of emotion and most of the time it's not rational. This drama needs to come to an end so we can go back to the Apple M1 thread.
  14. Yep. I'm no longer impressed with free stuff in any of the magazines.
  15. Like I said it's like Waves. I haven't had any DAWs be silent for the 1st half. Even Ableton is still updating 10.
  16. I guess these are pretty good. Most people probably blow them off since we think of their VIs.
  17. $249 if you have 8 track. They are like the Waves of DAWs with their WUP.
  18. That's odd since Vst 2 and Vst 3 are not in the same folders.
  19. So since I have GP3-PA the upgrade pricing in only through PA. That was the difference even though it is the same app. Does the non PA version authorize differently? Basically it's your own and not PA's?

    Windows 11?

I think I'll be confused and think I have a Mac.
  21. No doubt about that. Most people are unhappy after buying a plugin and 2 months later they have to pay for a new version. It's not so bad if there is still some support for the previous version and big fixes are only to buy the new version.
  22. Probably the same ones used by game developers.
  23. Don't get it. That's how you save money.
  24. and it being a free product........this use to be a nasty place in the old Sonar days with the fanboys
