  3. I live in reasonable distance of a Sam Ash and 2 Guitar Centers. We also have this. https://www.thebassplace.com/ I've only been in there once. If I wanted to spend a lot of money on a bass that would be the place to go.
  4. I use to live near both of their retail stores. They closed those. I miss that.
  5. Same here but I realized I never bothered with the NI one or the Sonokentic strings.
  6. They were in serious financial trouble. They bought Cakewalk in hopes of gaining more income. People hadn't forget about the other software they sunk.
  7. I'm finding that hard to believe. What make, model, and year? I miss the older smaller trucks like the S10, Ranger. I have a 99 Sonoma with 250K miles. Once you go truck it's hard to go back to a car.
  8. Your post verges on the no politics allowed. Fuel prices do raise the price of everything. I do wonder about the sales of instruments in general. We have a everything easy no work necessary culture and it's less hassle to buy some earbuds and listen to stuff on a phone. Some musicians like to blame it on DAWs but even that takes a lot of time and financial investment. I think we have become lazy. Were I live it's more evident in the wind instrument world. I guess Gibson has improved in their quality control.
  9. I remember their SUB series which was an affordable MIA line they had to drop because of costs. I did score a reduced SUB 5 bass for $500 over 10 years ago. These might be collector items. It's like wearing a railroad tie.
  10. That didn't happen to me. The installer will have replace or now folder. It's a bloated DAW anyway. I learned not to use any large folders in the browser since it will increase the sise of the db file
  11. How many EQs does one need? I need to get far enough in a project to use a latest and greatest, makes all the difference EQ
  12. I'm getting to dislike modern gaming and appreciate these type of games. Modern game developers are not very good. Franchise games are getting worse. I doubt developers ever play games. A 500gb OS drive is almost tool small for gaming. Next is the boutique requirements. Not everyone spends the day in their underwear playing games in 4k with their 4 digit price video card. The last modern game I bought was the newest Hitman which still requires 70gb. Some of the franchise games like GTA, CoD, Assassin's Creed are developed for the average system. There is a new STALKER coming out and the requirements are not for even my system.
  13. Free games are often posted on here.
  14. I bought their latest fx package when it was $99. I assume that's why mine was lower.
  15. I did for 129. I needed more softsynth confusion in my life. That vocoder one is really interesting.
  16. How many developers ever update previous versions? I assume they also do this since not everyone buys the collection.
  17. Mine is $129. Is it worth it?
  18. I have to wonder the wisdom of companies buying other software developers and not very knowledgeable of the DAW market. (we know this for sure) I guess this would be appealing to some pure fanboys and those looking in. The Reason+ was what Cakewalk use to be by promising free content every month. Meeting such deadlines can turn quantity over quality. Once you get past the paid shills and fanboys over + you do see some caution from others. Rent to rent to rent is not as good as rent to own. There is always this speculation of x company going subscription. I could see that as blessing when you avoid these and creativity begins when there are less options. People worry that NI would go sub but after many years of buying Komplete most of it is never used anyway. Unless you are making money off your DAW subs can be a financial pitfall. We look at a single product monthly value say like a DAW, then add more for a plugin subscription, sound content, ect. and you start to realize the monthly total can equal a utility payment. People say these are great ideas for people who can't pay upfront for software. I'm not so sure. Contentment is a hard thing to do. There is the sub frenzy and before that was the dongle frenzy. There are small developers who will market their products against such things. There are developers who vowed to never go sub. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I see DAWs like FL Studio, Reaper, and Bandlab, plugins like Melda looking more valuable every day.
  19. Yep. No other DAW is like that. I don't buy RE's anymore since VST support. It's a lot of confusion picking and choosing in my Reason browser and the length of that list is like reading the complete volumes of Shakespeare. I like the uniqueness of Reason.
  20. The sample based REs, samples can't be put on a separate drive unless you do some work arounds. If a DAW like Studio One or Live Suite force you to keep content on the OS drive it would be 19GB and 60+GB. I do believe Reason Suite takes up 18GB on my OS drive. All DAWs allow for separate folders for content. Reason is in the dark ages on many things DAW. I avoid the sample based REs.
  21. Reason with all of their fancies is SO drive bloat. You still can't put instrument content on a separate drive.
  22. Finale 95 still works on Windows.
