There should be a thread about giveaways and contests.

Cakewalk files inside Google Drive and "Read only" error message when saving.
User 905133 replied to Edward Allen's question in Q&A
I remember there was some discussion about this kind of thing. A forum search for "Google Drive" turned up this thread ("specified folder is read only error"). I am not sure a solution is mentioned, but others seem to have had this issue. -
$99 for me not logged in; $49 logged in. It doesn't grab me, though I have tried and do like some of their vintage emulations and Pigments.

The Turtles cover of this Dylan tune has always been a classic: But I just discovered this one--different, but excellent: There are so many other covers, too. Proof that Dylan was a great song writer! He also sings in his inimitable style (though many try to imitate him):

Yes. Staff View > Edit > Layout. Clarification: In the Staff View pane (not the main CbB menu bar) > Edit (tab) > Layout (option) > Staff Properties > Clef. -
Some people can sit, watch, and listen to an entire symphony; other people just want a recording of the greatest hits from the 30 or so "Greatest Symphonies of All Times" that they can turn on an off as they want. Others might just want a set of the "Greatest Guitar Solos of All Times." For some people mp3s playing on ear buds or a single wi-fi speaker in a single location or (on from cell phone playlists in their pockets as they go about from place to place) is enough for them to enjoy music. Some people like the added dimension of seeing performers as the music is created or played. Some people don't. It's a matter of personal preference.

If the "Let's Fix It" problem-solver link doesn't solve it and now they are saying, "please contact customer support," it sounds like they have to unlock something for you. Maybe at the same time they can advise you on how to solve the issue. Hope they get back to you promptly. Please let us know how it turns out.

Thank you!!! I was thinking, "But no one would have misinterpreted the comment without the emoji." I stand by my original comment: but only on principle. ? BTW, after watching the Gary Numan: Android in La La Land documentary that was linked in another thread, I thought of getting rid of all my synths and getting a guitar!!!

I don't think you were offensive, just vague/cryptic. JMO: Being vague/cryptic is only offensive when it is coupled with insults, e.g., "This software sucks limes. There's no listen bus. I use lots of other DAWs and all of them have a listen bus. I am never going to use Cakewalk again and will tell all my colleagues and their children to banish it from their computers." ?

Is guitar-based music inherently interesting , or is it only interesting because of the ethos of the hoo-ha gear? ?

OK. I see. You started all over and changed the paths to use Just Be instead of Admin 2.

I see that Opus Pianos is from EastWest. I don't have anything from them, but over the past several years I have looked at their manuals out of curiosity when I've seen Cakewalk users ask about midi issues. I got into the manuals just enough to see that what they do with MIDI can be very creative and can be very different from other MIDI implementations. The online manual I found has a section on "MIDI Control Codes in Quantum Leap Pianos." Maybe that has information that will help sort out what's going on. Assuming this is the manual for the software you are using, also note that the different presets/instruments use sustain differently, have different modes, or whatever it is they are doing. When I have looked at their manuals in the past, I knew enough that without actual hands-on experience I would never he able to offer any help. Unless another Cakewalk user has experience with these products, I think tech support is your best bet for help. Apologies if the Opus Pianos you have is something different.

Midi remote questions for Android Phone to Cakewalk

Glad to hear it meets your needs! -
I am not enough of a computer nerd; so I had to look it up. GREAT HINT!!!!!!! To cite a quotation rightly or wrongly attributed to a famous person , "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar!" (Enough said!) ?

I saw that today. Glad to see they are back doing new/original synths. JMO: Too many people making emulations/clones of old stuff. Yes, the old stuff has its place, especially when it is a well-done blend of "Vintage Gear" with contemporary UI/software techniques, but I am finding new/original synths can spark creativity if done well.

Nice attention getting textural material with excellent, interest-building/sustaining development as the song proceeds. All of the sonic building blocks hold together well in this very listenable tune.

Midi remote questions for Android Phone to Cakewalk

Maybe 8-10 years ago or so, I played around with TouchDAW on an Android-based Tablet using WiFi. My tablet died. I seem to recall trying it on an Android-based phone, but the form factor was too small for me. I also recall the developer had instructions to use another person's software to make the connection work (not sure which software he recommended, but I do recall having to set up stuff to get the Androids to communicate with my PC). My experience is old, but maybe the developer of the controller software you are using (or plan to use) has the instructions on how to do the set up. Of course, maybe its simpler now, but maybe my experiences will be useful to you in getting connectivity happening. UPDATE: WOW!!! Times have changed!! I just Google TouchDAW and there are even tutorials on line now. There was nothing like that back then. (Maybe it It was more than 10 years ago?.) PS: TouchDAW , Manual > Setup . Tobias Erichsen's rtpMIDI sounds like the one I probably used. -
For several months I have had no problems using the built-in Menu Bar > Help > Refresh Activation method, but my music PC is online and I don't have to look up my bandlab user name and password. Maybe someone who routinely uses the Offline Activation method can do that and advise others? It looks easy enough and I could try it, but I wouldn't be able to compare with what usually happens because I haven't done it before. PS: The online method is super easy: (1) Click the Refresh Activation button, (2) Close the toaster message that says "Cakewalk activation has been refreshed." It took less than 5 seconds!!!!!! It takes less time that than writing up a message to complain, adding a PS to an existing post, or fixing a typo. ? UPDATE: Evidently CbB no longer has a built-in mechanism to refresh activation from the Menu Bar > Help Menu. See for more information about activating CbB.

scared or scarce? The joke makes more sense if its "scarce." Q: "Why are stock investors are suddenly so scarce?" A: "I don't know, but since they are just stock investors, couldn't we just order some more?"
