My 16.08 beta from August 3rd, 2023 also has dlls and vst3s date stamped July 31, 2023, but time stamped between 12:49 pm and 12:57 pm. I have no idea what all the other resource files are.

Without question, when I did the clean up and allowed the installer to delete the plug-ins, (1) it deleted them and (2) the dlls and vst2s were not installed. Perhaps that happened for me BECAUSE I installed the 16.08 beta on August 3rd. Maybe the released version only updates resource files and uses older dlls and vst3s.

Thank you for answering my question by implication. You're welcome! ?

Out of curiosity, what are the dates of the folders and the *.dll and *.vst3 plugins you have? Also, did you delete older versions of the plug-ins after running the check-for-older-versions during the installation? I ask because the 632,850,328 byte file I downloaded today did not install any dll or vst3 plugins. Not a problem for me because I reinstalled the plug-ins from an older installer; just curious.

I had the 16.08 beta. That worked. On top of that I installed the released version of 16.08. I only tested a few plug-ins, but they worked for me. I will look in the VST3 folder. Sec. I just checked. Because of the issue reported, when I installed the released version of 16.08, I intentionally did not erase all previous versions. So, my VST3 folder (and sub-folder) has all of the plug-ins from the date I installed the beta version of 16.08. Hope this helps. UPDATE: I tried it again. This time I did the quick check and then deleted the previous plug-ins (16.08 beta). As a result my Melda *.dll and *.vst3 plug-ins were not installed. MORE: Upon reinstalling 16.08 Beta, the installer (quick check / delete) confirms that the M*.dlls and and M.*vst3s had not been installed.

Recording mode preferences - Prefer 'Overwrite', not 'Comping'

FWIW, several years ago I marked a template I called "My Basic" as my default template. The default had been marked as "Basic." See the File > New dialog. There's an option to set any template as the default. There may be other ways to set a default template, but that's how I did it. If you really want to change the path for the templates, I suppose you could do that. It might be a matter of personal taste, but given what you wrote, I'd create a template called "Project Template 2023" and mark that as the default for new projects. That way in 2024, you could save a template as "Project Template 2024" and mark that as the default for new projects. Caveat: I did this before CbB came out but I think marking custom project templates as default works the same way in CbB. -
I just couldn't resist grabbing this one from the same movie soundtrack.

I Googled "did john cale play with huey lewis" looking for the connection. Huey Lewis Pulls Song From 'American Psycho' Soundtrack: Pop-rock singer objects to film's extreme violence. So I guess that means any song in movie along with the current link in the song association chain is fair game!!!!! ? IMDB, here I come!!!! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144084/soundtrack/ ?

When I first listened to "She's So Unusual" way back when, I felt the entire album was well done on many levels. I didn't know she wasn't taken seriously. If she wasn't maybe it was because some people didn't appreciate "She bop" and the message that everyone does it! I mean, there's a lot of humor and fun in the album, but Frankly those definitely belong in music in my book! ?

@Peter - IK Multimedia (1) Will all the details be posted in one place for those of us who don't get e-mails? And if so, where will it be posted? (2) Will a list be posted of all the new products that came out since Total Studio 4 MAX came out so consumers will have a clear understanding of what's not included in Total Studio 4 MAX? Thanks.

On the other hand, I have tried to make more modern usage of Sampletron 2 in part with some of my own virtual "tapes" [aka clips], but it still comes out closer to an archaic process than something modern sounding.

Postive Grid Back to School Bias Sale - 40% off

If part of that is due to the hidden Edit button, in my experience it only took about 137 errors (hitting the Quote button) before I re-trained myself to an estimated 72% accuracy level on the first try and then an estimated additional 23% accuracy rate catching myself before hitting Submit. For the remaining 5% I have started to edit the accidental Quote-Instead-of-an-Edit into something other than my previous post with what should have been an edit. Seriously! I am no longer annoyed with myself when I do a Quote-Instead of-and-Edit! -
Free as in Seems rather generous considering he hold several patents. Donations are accepted, though. Impressive resume, too.

Yeah. For that matter why would anyone use a flute, or a french horn, or strings, or tympani, or even square and sawtooth waves or pianos or acoustic guitars in modern music. They are all throwbacks to music made by ancient people. ? In fact, so many sounds from the past 10-15 year have become hackneyed. ?

The Cover Song Hall of Shame - Share Your Nominations
User 905133 replied to PavlovsCat's topic in The Coffee House
Yeah, I knew that, but now I wonder if he has also has a legal basis to have a lawyer issue a take down notice. I was going to report it to YT, but the only reporting category that came close was offensive content. -
The Cover Song Hall of Shame - Share Your Nominations
User 905133 replied to PavlovsCat's topic in The Coffee House
I wholeheartedly nominate this disaster (JMO) for the Hall of Shame, not just because it makes the song sound like garbage and not because it purports to be AI and the AI sounds awful in and of itself, but also because it sounds nothing like Mike Nesmith either with the Monkees or without them. As positive as Micky Dolenz has been over the decades and as anti-Corporate Take Down Notices as I am, I think Micky should encourage the lawyer for whoever owns the rights to the song/recording to demand the song be taken down. -
