  1. Thanks. I missed that the OP no longer had access to a PC.
  2. Well, if you used the Staff View in your old version of Cakewalk/SONAR and that worked, why not go back to that instead of trying to use the beta version of software that has yet to be released (Cakewalk Next)?
  3. @flange_59163 As Byron Dickens says, some people post their phone numbers and email addresses. What is important not to share with the world differs from person to person. For example, some people will publicly post personalized codes for discounts on software. Others will post discount codes that can be used by anyone. Some people will announce that they have individual codes (or redemption keys) for sale, to give away, or to barter and ask for interested people to contact them privately. I was just surprised because I generally don't see people posting things like serial numbers for licensed software.
  4. Yeah. Since @flange_59163 also shows a an expiration date for the evaluation copy, I guess it doesn't matter. I was just shocked to see the serial number posted.
  5. Are you supposed to be posting the serial number of an evaluation copy for the whole world to see?
  6. If you haven't contacted Overloud yet as the pop-up says, I think you should do that. Please let others here know what they say in case it happens to someone else.
  7. If my memory isn't totally gone, I seem to recall a comment here in the forum that there might be a core program that would be free. I don't think that was user speculation / wishful thinking, but maybe it was. Maybe it was part of comments related to what options were under consideration. Unfortunately there have been far too many posts for me to search and double check what I am remembering. Personally, I remain optimistic and will wait for the products to be released before deciding what software to use after CbB has been retired.
  8. After watching The Turtles, Happy Together (documentary link by @pwal. I listened to some songs on Ray Manzarek's The Whole Thing Started With Rock and Roll (Now It's Out of Control ) that have Flo and Eddie as backing singers (e.g., "Love It or Leave It" in bicentennial Blues). I've had the vinyl since the '70s). A Wikipedia article on Flo and Eddie as backup singers led me to The Golden Scarab, which I had never heard before. So, Listening to this now . . . . . On a sad note, along the way I saw an article from June 2023 discussing Volman's Lewy Body Dementia. True to form Volman plans to make, “the most out of every day.”
  9. We still don't know what will happen when the the new products (Cakewalk Next and Cakewalk Sonar) are released. It is premature (among other things) to call this statement a lie. "Gotta be free, gotta be free"
  10. I always thought that intuition was a function of experience. When new features are introduced and I have no experience with them, I find they are very unintuitive. So when the Skylight UI was introduced, it was totally unintuitive. I haven't even tried to master some recently added features such as articulations and exporting. On the other hand when I saw Workspaces, I decided that might be very useful for my needs and I spent the time to tackle the learning curve. I don't know everything about Workspaces, but for my needs it has become very intuitive. Hope this helps.
  11. Thanks. I looked at the plug-in yesterday and as a fan of delays, I almost picked it up. But the album was so full of crackling, I decided against it. The crackling might have been intended by the artist and/or it might be part of a lo-fi appeal of the plugin (a feature, not a flaw), but the crackling was too much for me and I didn't want to get on the artists' e-mail list.
  12. Don't tell anyone, but I never clicked randomly on that image before. So thanks for pointing that out.
  13. This is true and I can't agree with you more, it's amazing how I think this is the least of priorities. I ended up buying studio one artist (it's not even extremely affordable where I'm from, about R1 200.00 black friday) cause I tried but gave up tolerating the UI. I'll surely keep an eye on cakewalk cause the fundamentals and feature sets are okay. Emphasis added above. Now re-read the first post in this this thread: UPDATE: Commentary on the above deleted. I believe the OP's words speak for themselves. Note: I am not saying or implying anything negative about AKAI's software and I understand the reasoning for the modernization of Cakewalk's UI in both Cakewalk Next and Cakewalk Sonar. I only cited the OP's comments about AKAI and the UI to call attention to the OP's long-standing bias.
  14. Here we go again - yet another new thread rehashing the same old same old. Yup! Time to sit back and watch the reruns of the opinions, speculation, etc. Either that or time to move on and just wait until it's released. Maybe explore something new? Bring up a new issue that hasn't been beaten to death? ? BTW, if there is a loyalty discount, I hope it's based on seniority, with those of us who started with Cakewalk for MS-DOS getting a more sizeable discount than those who want special consideration for jumping on the bandwagon at the very end of the SONAR run. Maybe someone can compile links to all the existing threads where people speculate, opine, rant, suggest, plead, etc. about Cakewalk Sonar?
  15. Somewhere along the line (probably either in September or when they came out with Hybrid Free) I also picked up and installed the REMatrix SOLO IR library Overloud kindy made available.
  16. The bottom line, "It will be replaced by a new version of SONAR and will no longer be freeware" is partially true. Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) (which is rooted in SONAR) is in the process of being discontinued. It still works. We can still use it. Bandlab has announced two new products will be coming out Cakewalk Next and Cakewalk Sonar. There is plenty of information (and discussion) of this. Some things are known to the public, but since Cakewalk Next and Cakewalk Sonar have not yet been released as purchasable products, we will have to wait until information / details are released (such as about when and how much). I agree that we don't need yet another thread. @SloHand Solo You can read the discussions and points raised in other threads. As a long-time user of Cakewalk/SONAR software I am confident that when there's news about pricing and availability, it will be announced.
  17. To me this is a different issue. To me it is related to track management for which I use the Track View, not the Synth Rack View. Are you saying that you want track management abilities added to the Synth Rack View? UPDATE: See replies below.
  18. This is what I initially thought you were referring to (you can have many tracks selected for various purposes; one track can be in focus for some very specific purposes), but I think you might be interested in something else. The only thing I can see is: the track with the name highlighted is shown in the Inspector (if you have the Inspector open). When you select the track number, the contents of the track get selected and the Inspector shows information for that track. To me, selecting a track by clicking on the name (and therefore having the Inspector show details for that track) amounts to giving that track the focus. However, by selecting multiple track by number such as by holding the ctrl key down (default key binding), allows some editing functions (for example) the delete key to delete the contents of all the tracks that have their numbers selected. So, hitting ctrl+a will select all tracks and then selecting the name of a single track (what I think of giving it focus) puts the single track selected into the Inspector. IMPORTANT: This is just what I think, based on how I intuitively use Cakewalk. (1) I am not sure I am using the terms as they are used in the manual. (2) I am not sure if other differences are going on, too, and if you are looking for other differences between the two methods. I welcome clarifications (corrections, qualifications, etc.) from others.
  19. Selected v. in focus. On second thought, I think you are referring to something else. Sorry.
  20. The Windows Installer program downloads and installs the Windows version (VST and VST3).
  21. TY!!! Yeah--I downloaded it, looked in all the menus, search where I thought it might be in the documentation (missed it if its there), etc. But I didn't think to click the X. It was staring me in the face the whole time!!!!! LOL ?
  22. Cool! I am close to the end of my One Year All Access Pass and have been trying to decide if I can afford the $150 renewal price. Groovy ?
  23. For those unfamiliar with Arturia's Analog Lab Sound Expansion Packs and where to find them Go to https://www.arturia.com/sounds Click the Instruments Tab (filters) Select the Analog Lab Play filter Not sure if the Analog Lab Play freebie installs the Modern Lab sound pack.
  24. One article said they had plans to include a Play Mode for existing owners. If anyone finds out when they implement that, please share, and if you know, how to invoke Play Mode. I like using individual instruments to design sounds and Analog Lab V to use them (less CPU / Graphics resources), but from what I read about Play Mode, that would work very well, too. BTW, I don't know how long its been out or if others in the forum mentioned it already, but yesterday I saw there was a free 32 preset sound pack that was "new to me" (Modern Lab) . Apologies to those who already know about this; please don't take me to task. UPDATE: Modern Lab might be new. It is listed as being for Analog Lab Play.
