  1. I see 1 demo track (44 sec) and 8 individual samples under "Immersive Sound Design Makes Any Content Engrossing." I have gotten some Ghosthack freebies before and enjoyed listening to them. However, I don't use them for the music I do. I am not making a recommendation for or against them; just pointing out that I see some demos.
  2. Thanks for the clarifications. I stand by the results of my tests. I think your clarification about the time is saying the same thing. I have had incomplete downloads using Chrome, but never with Melda. It usually happens when I lose my senses and get an "Outrageous Bundle" based on other people's suggestions and then try downloading more files at a time than either my PC can handle or their server can send me. Often Chrome's restart option works, but not always. It also happens if I download stuff to a drive without enough space. I thought of saving the dlls and vst3s from 8/3/23 [dated 7/31/2023] so I could compare with the 8/10/2023 ones, but I'm not that scientific! ?
  3. My eyes are seeing "Suggested Specs" not "Minimum Requirements." In my personal experience, SONAR/Cakewalk has traditionally worked with less than what is usually suggested. Of course, in the past, with less than that, users may not be able to "push the limits," but in my experience the software's features do work with less than what has been suggested. I am not going to jump to another DAW just because I do not have the suggested specs.
  4. Earlier today I did something similar (resizing my Android phone's browser). In fact I was able to get the upper right hand icons, including the log-in button in vertical mode. (I didn't have to hold it sideways as I did previously.) Unfortunately, I couldn't remember my login name and/or password, but it did bring up the Bandlab login program.
  5. Last Halloween I tried the creepy one ("Nightfall"). It was either free or dirt cheap. I did a creepy set using Capsule within Voltage Modular and had speakers set up so music could be heard coming from inside the house. It worked well as a creepy collection of sounds modified in real time with a Waverley Instruments FX Send/Switcher** and about 3 or 4 FX I was using for the Halloween Improv. Sounded good to me. I have no other experience with it. **I had two instances of Gigswitch 8, one for FX (with 3 FX: echo, delay, & freq shift) and one for Synths (with 2 Synths--Capsule & MSF).
  6. In the interest of science I set my PCs clock manually to something that doesn't resemble real time. The installer downloaded correctly using the timestamp with the wrong time. The Melda dlls and vsts still were between 4:00 AM and 4:08 AM. Hope they can sort it out without messing up the downloads that work.
  7. In the interest of science, I downloaded 16.08 a third time today (after messing up my PC's clock). Since August 3rd, I have not had any download issues other than the 3 times the wrong file had been posted. There is a MS C++ redistributable that happens (2013 - 12.0.40664) but I just let it do its thing. Could the failure to download/install that cause an error?
  8. That was my first thought. But, for the sake of science I did another complete download and reinstallation almost three hours ago. This time I did a complete scan before deleting all Melda plugins the installer found. I still get August 10, 2023 between 4:00 AM and 4:08 AM. If anyone's minutes (:00 to :08) are different, maybe the system clock also affects the time stamp (in addition to time zone).
  9. I agree that if someone has dlls and vst3 before 8/10/2023, they don't have the ones from the current / 8/10/2023 installer. However, from what people have posted, different people can have different time stamps. For example, mine say 4:00 AM to 4:08 AM. If by 1:05 you mean 1:05 AM that would mean mine are later than yours. If by 1:05 you mean 1:05 PM that would mean mine are earlier than yours and I should download the installer yet another time to see if I can get time stamps that match yours. In the interest of science, I will do yet another installation.
  10. I can hear it now, "I've got chips that Pringle, Prangle, Pringle."
  11. MYup. Confirmed August 10, 2023 here, too. BTW, I used option to delete the old ones. No problems.
  12. That makes sense. I ran my re-installation tests to confirm the issue yesterday. I didn't look to see if it had been fixed today. (Been too busy. Ex wife was at a conference and tested positive today. Long story, but I have been busy trying to find home test kits and figure out how long the kids and I need to be on pins and needles.) I will try the Melda Installer posted this morning shortly. Thanks!!! UPDATE: The installer is now approx. 400 KB larger than the beta I downloaded on August 3rd, rather than approx. 10,000 KB smaller. So I'd say the dlls and vst3s are probably there now.
  13. What is EST? I'm on the east coast of the US where the time is 12:00 PM (Noon) EDT.
  14. My 16.08 beta from August 3rd, 2023 also has dlls and vst3s date stamped July 31, 2023, but time stamped between 12:49 pm and 12:57 pm. I have no idea what all the other resource files are.
  15. Without question, when I did the clean up and allowed the installer to delete the plug-ins, (1) it deleted them and (2) the dlls and vst2s were not installed. Perhaps that happened for me BECAUSE I installed the 16.08 beta on August 3rd. Maybe the released version only updates resource files and uses older dlls and vst3s.
  16. Thank you for answering my question by implication. You're welcome! ?
  17. Out of curiosity, what are the dates of the folders and the *.dll and *.vst3 plugins you have? Also, did you delete older versions of the plug-ins after running the check-for-older-versions during the installation? I ask because the 632,850,328 byte file I downloaded today did not install any dll or vst3 plugins. Not a problem for me because I reinstalled the plug-ins from an older installer; just curious.
  18. I had the 16.08 beta. That worked. On top of that I installed the released version of 16.08. I only tested a few plug-ins, but they worked for me. I will look in the VST3 folder. Sec. I just checked. Because of the issue reported, when I installed the released version of 16.08, I intentionally did not erase all previous versions. So, my VST3 folder (and sub-folder) has all of the plug-ins from the date I installed the beta version of 16.08. Hope this helps. UPDATE: I tried it again. This time I did the quick check and then deleted the previous plug-ins (16.08 beta). As a result my Melda *.dll and *.vst3 plug-ins were not installed. MORE: Upon reinstalling 16.08 Beta, the installer (quick check / delete) confirms that the M*.dlls and and M.*vst3s had not been installed.
  19. FWIW, several years ago I marked a template I called "My Basic" as my default template. The default had been marked as "Basic." See the File > New dialog. There's an option to set any template as the default. There may be other ways to set a default template, but that's how I did it. If you really want to change the path for the templates, I suppose you could do that. It might be a matter of personal taste, but given what you wrote, I'd create a template called "Project Template 2023" and mark that as the default for new projects. That way in 2024, you could save a template as "Project Template 2024" and mark that as the default for new projects. Caveat: I did this before CbB came out but I think marking custom project templates as default works the same way in CbB.
  20. I just couldn't resist grabbing this one from the same movie soundtrack.
  21. I Googled "did john cale play with huey lewis" looking for the connection. Huey Lewis Pulls Song From 'American Psycho' Soundtrack: Pop-rock singer objects to film's extreme violence. So I guess that means any song in movie along with the current link in the song association chain is fair game!!!!! ? IMDB, here I come!!!! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144084/soundtrack/ ?

  23. When I first listened to "She's So Unusual" way back when, I felt the entire album was well done on many levels. I didn't know she wasn't taken seriously. If she wasn't maybe it was because some people didn't appreciate "She bop" and the message that everyone does it! I mean, there's a lot of humor and fun in the album, but Frankly those definitely belong in music in my book! ?
  24. @Peter - IK Multimedia (1) Will all the details be posted in one place for those of us who don't get e-mails? And if so, where will it be posted? (2) Will a list be posted of all the new products that came out since Total Studio 4 MAX came out so consumers will have a clear understanding of what's not included in Total Studio 4 MAX? Thanks.
