By "Microsoft MIDI" do you mean "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth?"

I am pretty sure I saw a note to this effect somewhere--either the IK forum, or another forum: They went back to the website structure that just has one "Available" slot. Once you choose that, if you have any "freebies" left to choose, you should still have the single "Available" button.

If this is V2 and if I understand what it contains, this would be a better deal than all those little promotions over the past few months. Please correct me if I am wrong. In other words, if you have the previous version of Total Studio Max and qualify for the next upgrade sale price, trying to fill in gear, libraries, etc. with the various promotions from IK often ends up being a "waste of money." Of course, if you managed to pick up just those item you "need" rather than this sale, then this sale is unnecessary. I defer to the opinions of those who have been buying IK stuff for more than I have and to those who understand the "method to their madness," Consumers of the World, UNITE!!!!

Suppose you undock all views from the Multidock; can you then have multiple floating views open and on different monitors? So far as I can tell, it is possible to have multiple views floating at the same time (e.g., Console, Staff, PVR, and Browser) independent from the Main / Track View and a floating multidock that contains a single synth in one tab of the multidock. As for views/modules/windows docked within the multidock, so far as I remember, we could only have one tab open at a time, although they can each be undocked independently from the multidock. Generally I have had multiple synths open (floating in their own windows), but I also explored using different synths each docked in its own tab within the one multidock we get.

Notes got moved to the Browser. The icon looks like a sheet of paper with the upper right corner folded. PS: When you click on the icon, "Notes" appears..

The Control Bar Markers Module also works as expected. If mouse clicks don't work in the Control Bar module, maybe your mouse programming application is interfering. Also, what language version of Sonar are you using? I use English. If you use a different language for Sonar, maybe that's causing the bug?

I just did a test. I set up n to do Next Marker and ctrl+n to do previous marker. Then I recorded approx. 28 measures from my usb keyboard, played it back and pressed m to insert markers throughout. To test I played it back. n worked to jump to the Next Marker; ctrl+n worked to jump to the Previous Marker.

AAS - 😎 Summer Sale is On — UP TO 50% OFF Everything!

Footnote: For me, the CV-3 upgrade is now $10 less than it was before plus I'd get a free sound pack all for $39. Since I am more likely to use CV-3 than Lounge Lizard 5, this is very temping! I have a number of Electric Pianos, but only one other Virtual Modular Synth. I sort of gave up trying to understand the marketing / consumer loyalty strategies of companies that sell music software / sounds. Totally forgot about that until I was deleting all my old aas installers to reclaim some storage space and decided to check for updated aas installers. -
Nice 1980s retro vibe! You captured that tape overdub feel (except for the higher quality audio in your re-creation).

Sonar asking for Sign-in, but Sign-in is timing out
user905133 replied to Steve Moddelmog's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
For the better part of the past week, I have been trying to access customer support web pages for a different company. Based on internet posts in other forums, I am not the only one having these issues. Website seems to have connection issues with people trying to reach various customer services, but the server is not down, and connections are "iffy" at best. For me, in addition to website access a standalone utility for the other company cannot maintain a connection. Based on an online search for the issue, I am guessing that it might be related to a known, fairly recently discovered issue with some internet / Microsoft changes. Not sure if it is related to the AWS issue from the week(s) before. A number of people have reservations about subscription-based software, but with the other company's issue I have been having, it has more to do with account/license internet logins/access/verification. If you had said, "This is what is wrong with subscription-based software that uses the internet to verify licenses, provide customer support, access consumer accounts, etc." I would agree!!!! -
(1) I assume the backing track is coming from the computer and it is not going through the Tank-G and therefore the Tank-G's usb port is not the source for the backing track being recorded. (2) If that's correct, can you record only the usb input? Am I misunderstanding something about your setup / routings?

Next fails to open any of my existing Band Lab projects
user905133 replied to My Wicked Twin's topic in Cakewalk Next
I am doing a simple test now. Menu Bar > File > Export > Cakewalk Interchange... Then, I opened Cakewalk Next and dropped the file from Windows into a new project. It worked for me. But I would still recommend checking the manuals for Cakewalk Interchange Format (CXF). -
Next fails to open any of my existing Band Lab projects
user905133 replied to My Wicked Twin's topic in Cakewalk Next
When I saw this yesterday, I thought "existing Band Lab projects" meant tunes made with Bandlab the web app / Bandlab Studio. @Amberwolf But you might be right. The OP might have meant *.cwp project files created Cakewalk by Bandlab. If so, the Cakewalk Interchange Format might work. I haven't tried using it in a while, but it used to work. It should be in the Cakewalk Sonar and Cakewalk Next manuals. -

I don't use the time bar like that, but I just tested the Snap settings (which I also never use) and that worked for me. With this, clicking on the time bar snapped to the nearest 1/2 measure.

I tried to use Custom Shop to check what I own, but it shows the check mark on only 90% of the items I have. For example those 3 Morley collection items don't have a checkmark but I have them working in Amplitube... Interesting. I also have a version of Amplitube which includes the Contour Wah, but not the Oil Can Delay and the Power Wah. Today both the Custom Shop check marks and the Amplitube list are in agreement. During my first IK GB [GB25], I made the mistake of using the Custom Shop to check what I already had and what I didn't. At the time there was a discrepancy between the gear I had (or didn't have) as singles and what showed up when I looked at the gear via the collections. As a result, I "wasted" some "freebie" choices by choosing singles I had because I didn't have them as collections.

These are just some of the definitions for Ponzi Scheme easily available on the internet. None of these or any of the others apply. One of the nice things about IK Multimedia's Group Buys is that they post the rules from the start. One other thing that you probably don't know is that sometimes they even extend the date--but that's also covered by the published rules.

Heads Up (Re: Piano Verse): UPDATE : Based on what I have experienced on my PC, 8GB is very minimal, but with tweaks to the Pianoverse streaming settings and processing/effects, I was able to get rid of the extreme distortion without having to change any of my DAW settings. Windows' Task Manager still showed the large sample size (even with the smallest Pianoverse Streaming/Buffer setting) at between 80-90% of my Memory. Changing those settings to the smallest options, seems to have allowed enough memory on my system for Pianoverse's internal processing. So, it can be made to work on an 8GB system, but YMMV.

@IK Multimedia I see that the individual SampleTank 4 Libraries are available as GB Freebie Choices at the $/€49.99 buy-in level with the exception of Alien Harbors, Circuit Damage, Ring of Doom, Swarm, and Vector. Those are among the 12 I have "needed" for a few years. Is there any chance those can be added to the GB at that level? Thanks.

The Fanatical site says "Redeem Keys on Magix" but we all know at least some of what has happened to Magix [financial difficulties, sale, etc. The last I heard Boris FX said: To be honest, I kind of started losing track after Sonic Foundry [SOFO] products went to SONY and then to Magix. I followed the corporate drama a little bit, but does any one know about the products in this Bundle (will the Magix servers authorize the products from Fanatical, have the products been sold off to a buyer, any thought on whether or not the licenses / products will continue to work, etc.)? I assume that there will be no updates (new features, bug fixes, support). I ask because I've used Sound Forge since the days of SOFO (including some later incarnations from SONY and Magix) . It looks like my most recent version of Sound Forge Pro was 11 and my most recent non-pro version was Magix's Audio Studio 14. Despite my horrible experiences with the Magix Low-Latency Driver (which completely ultimately led me to uninstall my Magix products with Revo Uninstaller Pro), I am reluctantly considering this bundle. No need to rehash the history on my account, I'm more interested in recent experiences and research abut the future of these products. Thanks.

(1) I used to use plugin layouts, but I found out that I can usually find the plugin I want by using the Sort by Manufacturer as my default and if necessary using a keyword in the search box. (2) I don't use Kontakt but it makes sense that a guitar would be under Instrument not FX. FWIW some of my synth / instrument plugins can function as instruments and as FX to process audio from other sources. Not sure if Kontakt is like that; but if it is, it would make sense that it could be coded as an instrument and/or FX. In any case glad to see you found where it is.

In addition to what others have said, there is also hardware from decades ago that have the Roland sounds from which the TTS-1 sounds were inherited. If the midi tracks follow a standard sound bank assignment format (e.g., General MIDI) the tracks actually do know what instruments are supposed to be assigned because they should include standardized MIDI Program Change commands. So, if you want to try to re-orchestrate the file following the instruments used (but not necessarily the somewhat standardized sounds) you could do that with a numerical listing of the GM/GS instrument assignments. For example, the first few Program Change commands [aka patches / presets] are pianos with slightly different sound characteristics, but if you have hardware or software synths (or a sampler, or virtual instruments/sound libraries), you could choose any piano, Likewise with guitars, strings, brass, etc.

Zappa- Cheaper Than Cheep: Live Concert Film (1974)
user905133 replied to hsmx's topic in The Coffee House
From around that era, 1973 video courtesy of YT feeds: Features the musical zaniness of the Fowlers, George Duke, Napoleon Murphy Brock, et al. performed with the benefit of the legendary on-the-fly conductorial gesticulations of Zappa. From the era of both Ralph Humphreys and Chester Thompson, and of course Ruth Underwood. (Different kind of musical humor than Flo and Eddie, but zany nevertheless.)
