  1. Thanks, but I already turned off "View Signatures." So if you listed it there, I appreciate the feedback about the Syba card.
  2. Thanks. I am pretty sure I found the Syba cards on line when I looked a few years ago, but I appreciate hearing your personal experience--I have suspicions about random online ratings/comments. My desktops have PCI slots, and at least one has a PCIe slot. I'll pull out the pdf service manuals,
  3. Yeah. Thanks for the reminder. I already knew that, Thanks to Tom Deering's FW-1884 documentation which I had been to long before I found him here. 🙂
  4. I had to turn Signatures back on to try to find out what firewire card you use. I'm looking for a possible replacement. I used to use the firewire port on an E-Mu PCI Digital Audio System Card, but over the years the various features of the card disappeared. The firewire functionality was the last to go. This might have been due to Windows' updates over the years and I have thought of trying to find a firewire card to try. Thanks.
  5. Those are some classics from the Flo and Eddie era of The Mothers! I used to play them (among others) on my college radio show back in the day. Thanks for posting these memory-jogging tunes!
  6. https://www.united-mutations.com/s/jeff_simmons.htm Not all __________ people look alike. ADDENDUM: I looked, but I can't find any information about the "ethnicity" of his parents. FWIW, here's some information about Jeff Simmons.
  7. (1) Log into your account; (2) Look at Coupons. (That's where I found my personal code. Maybe it will work for others?)
  8. You all have convinced me that I have been singled out. 🤪 Or maybe my subscription hasn't been expired long enough? It hasn't been a full year yet. It's only been 9 months! As I said, no big deal for me--the UJAM products I own are rather easy to figure out. Plus I was able to watch the first video in Eli Kranzberg's series on the Beatmaker for free which includes some details about how the new version differs from the previous version. In addition to the Groove 3 freebie, there's this:
  9. Thanks. I have updated my post so as not to discourage others who might have a Groove3 account from trying to get the free 30-day all access pass courtesy of UJAM.
  10. I could be wrong, but I thought the Solo Button was part of a list of suggestions: as if to mean "also adding a SOLO Button for each band would be very useful. "
  11. Similar issue to the playlist example from a few months ago?
  12. Have you tried signing in with your own account?
  13. The promotion is available to first-time subscribers. UPDATE: Although I was ineligible because I previously had a paid subscription (not just an account), it seems to work for others. (See posts from others below.) Not a big deal to me. I picked up some UJAM stuff after my Groove3 subscription ended, but they are not that difficult to figure out. If I get stuck, I can pay the $15 for a one-month pass. I found the presentations done by one of their tutorial makers matched my learning style very closely and usually had lots of tips I could use.
  14. Registered Parameter Numbers and Non-Registered Parameter Numbers. The are types of MIDI commands, like Note On/Offs Data Program Change Data, Continuous Controller Data, After Touch Data, Pitch Bend Data, etc. In my experience some synth manufacturers used them for less standard parameter controls. One manufacturer might use standardized CCs [Continuous Controller parameter numbers] and also use RPNs and NRPNs for sending parameter value changes to a synth engine.
  15. Thanks for adding this; in my comparisons, I didn't check custom plugin layouts. While I recognized yesterday that those might behave differently, (1) I rarely intentionally use them any more (since before CbB came out), (2) I didn't have time to create new layouts, and (3) to me it seemed that the OP was referring to the Sort by Manufacturer mode.
  16. If you are asking specifically about compatibility with regard to opening projects created and saved on older software (Sonar Platinum, CbB, etc.), I defer to others. If you are asking more generally about features, workflow comparison, etc. I suggest the "Current Release . . . " Topic in the General > Product Release Info section might be helpful to you. Hope this helps.
  17. I thought of a suggestion like this yesterday, but was thinking of a measure of 2/4 since from my understanding is that the change needs to come on the the downbeat immediately after 2 quarter notes. (Regrettably, I didn't have the time to test this to see if it would meet the OP's requirements.)
  18. Footnotes: Although we have been discussing behaviors when the Sort by Manufacturer mode has been chosen, I get the same behaviors with Sort by Category and Sort by Type modes--hovering over a menu item causes a sub-menu to flyout showing the respective plugins (and the same with any sub-sub-menus, such as the VST2, VST3, and DX types). Just a suggestion, if anyone needs to retrain his or her eye-brain-hand memory, rather than doing the retraining with one sort mode (e.g., Sort by Manufacturer), try doing it with a different, less preferred mode (e.g., Sort by Type.) It might take fewer iterations. YMMV
  19. To be clear, my first comment was about "inserting effects in FX bins and adding Soft Synths in tracks." After that I started addressing the question @Bristol_Jonesey asked you: He asked if your problem came from using the Browser because your original post just referred to plugin menus: So thanks for clarifying that. In the final section of my reply I (1) paid respect to the "muscle memory" issue you raised and (2) addressed methods of "dismissing the menu." Now that we are collectively closer to knowing what each of us is seeing, perhaps possible reasons why people might be "seeing" different mouse-related behaviors can be addressed. As for me, I will leave it up to the Cakewalk Team in acting on the feature request (an option to have "the old way" available) to decide if they have control over the different mouse-related behaviors different users experience.
  20. Well, it is a pharmacy, after all! 😜
  21. Thanks for the clarifications. I tried this yesterday and again today on my main audio PC and now, my older computer. On both of my PCs, hovering over the manufacturer's name causes the available plugin names menu to fly out. Clicking on the manufacturer's name doesn't do anything. Not sure if there is a DAW-based setting or a Windows / Mouse setting that would change the behavior. Not sure if this makes a difference but both my mice are wired. On both my PCs, clicking on the > displays the manufacturer's plugins. Double clicking on the manufacturer displays the plugins. Single clicking highlights the manufacturer's name, but then I still needed to double click that to get the list of plugins. Again, not sure if there are mouse driver settings or Windows settings that control the mouse's behaviors. I never paid any attention to what I do to get rid of the plugin menu. My brain tells my hand what to do and I assume my eyes provide my brain with feedback if it doesn't happen so my brain will then tell my hand to move left instead of right.** I just tried to figure out what goes on intuitively, but its so automatic, I can't slow it down. I haven't reinstalled OBS on my recently re-constructed C Drive, but when I do, I can OBS it and take a look. **I tried moving my mouse "away" (as you suggest) but the result seems to vary based on several different factors, which direction my hand moves the mouse, where the plugin submenu is with respect to the other UI elements, how many plugins there are, and who know what else. I just let the eye-brain-hand mechanism do its thing. ADDENDUM: On my main PC, CbB exhibits the same behaviors (insert menus and Browser), except that when using the Browser (docked and floated), the > button is a + inside a folder icon button.
  22. IK Product Manager also lists the update for AmpliTube 5 MAX [pre v2 version]. Clarification for those who don't know: These updates only update the underlying software, not the content. In other words, we do not get the content for v2. It would be a non-free upgrade if we purchase(d) v2. JMO: It's nice that they also update the pre v2 version as well.
