@kennywtelejazzthanks for putting up the list. I avoid most commercial sites due to the endless ads, links etcetera… t -
Why mix on speakers when 87% listen on headphones?
DeeringAmps replied to whoisp's topic in General Music Discussion
Good question p! I “check” on cans, buds, and even the iPhone. But I still prefer “working” on the monitors. Old man, old ways die hard… t -
Apologies to @bluzdogin advance, I don’t want to hijack your thread. @Jim Roseberryhow do the captures compare to Tonex? t

The 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time By Rolling Stone
DeeringAmps replied to kennywtelejazz's topic in The Coffee House
All 250 of them are Jeff Beck! Not a tough decision. Beck was playing the blues with the Tridents while Clapton was dreaming of being a “Bluesman”. Jeff was laying down the Psychedelic Rock when Chas Chandler brought Hendrix to London. Jeff owned prog rock Head and shoulders above any who came before or after that is all… t -

Mark I'm listening on some ATH-M50's (not my usual) so take this as a maybe. I'd bring the vocal and cello up (more like the solo guitar) and or the piano down in the verses. I'll try to listen again on my goto cans and get back if I think I'm off on that... Had another go with the DT-770's: Vocal up Piano down in the cello solo Love the tune. t

Good advice that!!

I’d go with encouraging them to rehearse it a bit more. I get that having “your guys” is way more important than “perfection”. Keep on rockin’ Barry! The material is excellent and your performances are as well. “Strock” the band, don’t lean on them. Most importantly, enjoy! t

Nothing wrong with “noodling” round the blues! t

Barry, I’ve been kind of “lurking” on this one since you put it up. I didn’t have a bunch of “issues” with the original to tell the truth. I think this says a lot about getting it “right” at the tracking stage. I realize that sometimes we have to make the “best” of what we have though. Your songwriting and performances are excellent as always. Is the final mix “better”? Yes, but it seems you “struggled” to get there. Tighten up the tracking, mix it and move on. Not trying to be “critical”, just thinking we all let the “technical” side dominate the “creative” side. It’s a “buzz” kill for me…. t almost forgot ?’s

Listening in the van today, (mids are a “hot mess”), so tough to give any advice as to the mix. I can relate to the “broken speaker” and the background “ringing”. Love the tune and performances. Looking forward to @garybrun’s mix. t
