Mark I'm listening on some ATH-M50's (not my usual) so take this as a maybe. I'd bring the vocal and cello up (more like the solo guitar) and or the piano down in the verses. I'll try to listen again on my goto cans and get back if I think I'm off on that... Had another go with the DT-770's: Vocal up Piano down in the cello solo Love the tune. t

The C drive on my office rig “puked”, Win 10 is reinstalled, CbB and all my ToonTrack. FUG it! I went ahead and installed PM; no issues with MS Defender... t

Yep! Not your "job" Freddy! Let the "critics" handle that. Write, record and post... t

Good advice that!!

I’d go with encouraging them to rehearse it a bit more. I get that having “your guys” is way more important than “perfection”. Keep on rockin’ Barry! The material is excellent and your performances are as well. “Strock” the band, don’t lean on them. Most importantly, enjoy! t

Nothing wrong with “noodling” round the blues! t

Barry, I’ve been kind of “lurking” on this one since you put it up. I didn’t have a bunch of “issues” with the original to tell the truth. I think this says a lot about getting it “right” at the tracking stage. I realize that sometimes we have to make the “best” of what we have though. Your songwriting and performances are excellent as always. Is the final mix “better”? Yes, but it seems you “struggled” to get there. Tighten up the tracking, mix it and move on. Not trying to be “critical”, just thinking we all let the “technical” side dominate the “creative” side. It’s a “buzz” kill for me…. t almost forgot ?’s

Listening in the van today, (mids are a “hot mess”), so tough to give any advice as to the mix. I can relate to the “broken speaker” and the background “ringing”. Love the tune and performances. Looking forward to @garybrun’s mix. t

The son of a son of a sailor is off to margaritaville for good. RIP Jimmy!

They’re back! Thanks for all your hard work cleaning this mess up. t

Had to let my FXII+ go. I could get lost in it for days! Do as SmallStone said “cycle thru the presets”. If you delve into the parameters it’s “a rabbit hole”; literally. Amazing piece of kit. t The amp is common on Reverb, average price looks like $299. Didn’t search the cabs. There is a two channel w/reverb variant so do a little research…

@Byron Dickens Clearly you are happy with your 2204, as well you should be. I am well versed in pretty much all things Marshall. (Only the 900’s are “lacking” IMNSHO). I build “channel switchers” and they never quite sound “right” until they get to a level where they “breathe”. I’ve yet to find any “master volume” amp that does NOT suffer from the same issue. The “dimed”plexi thru 8 pre rolas is a rare treat (prefer the 20 watt speakers, but to each his own) and the “gold standard” for ME! YMMV. There is a “thump” (for want of a better term) that the plexi gives you that I never get with “modern” amps; but again that’s just me. I would remind you that all tweed and black face Fenders were “under speakered”, as are AC-30’s etc. They all, in my experience, exhibit some degree of “excursion” when cranked. And let’s be honest, most of us run them on “eleven”. So “physics” aside, I’m pretty sure “excursion” is a thing. But again maybe it’s just me? BTW no one has ever accused me of having “golden ears”. Would love to have a brew or two and debate, compare notes, etcetra… So flame away my friend (I have broad shoulders) most of the time your responses here are “spot on”, albeit a bit caustic (many times deservedly so) t

The problem with an attenuator is you take the speaker out of the equation. Great amps are a three legged stool. Preamp, power amp and speaker. “Excursion” is a key to the plexi tone. Yep, perfect example. No excursion and tone is compromised… t

What exactly is it that Mixcraft does that CbB or Studio One don’t? I demoed it, and found results of a “loop back” test disappointing. I mentioned it on the forum back then and either no one noticed or my test was flawed. Does it properly place tracks? (ASIO driver of course) It didn’t for me. Just curious… t

ditto, my nickname in gym class was "snowman"! Kinda tough in SoCal and a significant portion of your buddies are surfers. Suffered some terrible sunburns when I was talked into a "day at the beach". If the sun is shining when I'm dreaming I wake up "burned"; it then blisters and peels and I'm as "white" as when I started... t

So why the question...
