I'm really glad that I got both of those MODOs as freebies in last years group buy! -
OK, so a question for those that already have an Orange Tree collection. What is the one OTS item that you could not live without? I'm a first timer, and have already added one item, that appeared to be most useful for me, to hold my spot in line. I already have ujam Carbon and Sparkle guitars, the ujam Dandy bass, as well as the Ample Metal Ray 5 bass. I got all of these on sale. So I think I could use a versatile all around electric guitar, and/or maybe a good acoustic. I like the Ample Bass, but the ujam guitars seem a bit limited. Plus the ujam full retail asking price is a bit steep. And I agree with Fleer on the Ample engine. The samples are great, but the UI takes a bit of effort to decipher.

I did the WUP thing to add the scalable UI and enhanced preset browser to my plugins. But not likely to ever happen again!

Didn't say it won't work. Just that it won't be supported (by MS). Different things... ? The Win 11 readyness test shows what is supported or not.

Seems that you missed the point.

Hey, thanks for the reminder, LOL! It shouldn't be too bad, I only signed up for 1 guitar, and we are already at 50% off, with 7 days left to go. Will be very nice if we can hit 60%!!!

Have no idea. Only Microsoft knows...

Another good plugin to destroy a track with is one from our fine friends at A.A.S., Objeq Delay (I got a free promo).

Great timing! I just blew my Summer allowance on some iZotope bling (MPS 4), so now I have time to start saving up for Black Friday!

I think that intelligent selection is an area that is still lacking in every editor that I have tried. Even the ones that claim "1-click", often don't. It does depend on the picture. If the subject appears distinctly on a solid background, for example, as with stock photos used in marketing videos, your chances are better. But for real world photos with messy backgrounds, "1-click" selection is usually a fantasy. If I'm wrong and anybody can steer me to one that works under all conditions, I'm in!

Basically yep, throw it on, and start twisting knobs. Happy accidents! And yes, I would categorize it as a special effect like Glitchmachines, or even Blackhole or Shimmerverb. Creative destruction. Have you ever just looped a drum pattern and listened to the mayhem that these type of processors can do to a drum track, especially when the attack transients are removed? It's probably not going to be of much use to someone who is just trying to lay down some real nice real instrument tracks, such as guitar, bass, and drums, etc. But it might be worthwhile if you are designing ambient or cinematic soundscapes, with a desire to turn ordinary sounds into something else, and not necessarily something already in your head that you were expecting!

The Intel CPU must also be at least 8th gen. The i5-7200U won't pass the test. MS has announced that 6th and 7th gen is not supported for Win 11.

Melda is probably the BEST freeware FX suite available!!! I also have the paid version (free promo) of MSpectralDelay. Lots of sound design potential there!

Photo editing is like "fix it in the mix" is with audio. If your first take is good, then there's often no need for extensive "fixing" later. And with today's DSLR's it is easy to get the shot right with some practice. However, if you are creating digital art, then maybe a photo editor is your best first choice. But for photos, I prefer the non-destructive workflow of a photo management tool like Lightroom or Capture One, where your adjustments are stored separately from the original image. That Capture One does look intriguing!

The only way to get DP is to run a licensed installer. It takes more than a plugin "file" to run this plugin. Although the installer places a plugin file in the correct location, there are many other folders and support files needed for the presets, samples, etc.

Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel until October 14, 2025. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-home-and-pro Developers are not likely to cut off support until Miscrosoft removes the development support for Win 10.
