  1. So lets get things straight! If we go out and buy an M1 Mac Mini, we get free booze, correct?
  2. I'm totally missing the boat with what you are trying to say. There is nothing in the current Cakewalk setup that prevents you from using the DAW the way that you wish. The only requirement is that you send MIDI notes to the Vocoder to trigger the "carrier" oscillator. This could be done with the piano roll on a MIDI track, with output to the Vocoder. So live playing is not necessary.
  3. You're welcome! Just instinct, I suppose. Been running Cakewalk since Pro Audio 9. Just go make some great music!
  4. There. Fixed it for ya! ?

    Windows 11?

Prediction: Windows 11 will be totally Linux under the hood, with a Windows Desktop Environment (DE).
  6. The Cakewalk beat down... I've heard someone online complain what a bunch of mean girls hang out here...so it must be true!
  7. Gotcha. Just wondered if maybe that might have been what made the metronome plugin Groove thingy get all bent and twisted...
  8. For Cakewalk: Drop the TAL Vocoder into an FX Bin on an audio track. Enable MIDI in on the plugin. Add a MIDI track and make sure it is receiving input from your controller. Set the output to TAL Vocoder. Play an audio source through the audio track (you can also loop an audio clip to test), that is your modulation source. Play your controller (send MIDI to TAL), by default TAL uses the internal VCO as the carrier. Leave "Input mode" unselected on the TAL GUI.
  9. Hey, I just noticed that your Cakewalk projects were lacking the default A, B, & C busses for the Master, Metronome, and Preview busses. Your instrument tracks are setup to output directly to audio hardware, rather than a Cakewalk Master Bus that then routes to the audio hardware. That could just be a result of opening up your project on my end or probably shouldn't have anything to do with the safe mode issue, but it may be worth a shot! It's really the only difference I could find. I sent you my saved version of the project file with those busses included.
  10. Yep, PreSonus Hub does use one of those annoying VST3 Shell thingys...
  11. I recently waited for two months for a hardware restock from Arturia to a US based distributor.
  12. Now you are talking! ?
  13. Welcome to the shortage of shipping containers... https://www.businessinsider.com/shipping-crisis-causing-shortages-why-2021-6
  14. I wonder if a next gen Windows will be better or worse for legacy applications?
  15. Got 'em. Tried 'em. They worked out of the box.
  16. Pro upgrade was free also. Like for like. Home for Home, Pro for Pro, etc. I traded up a copy of Windows 7 Pro for a Windows 10 Pro license.
  17. I think it was related to that. Not a full port in any case. It sounded more like a half-assed attempt to kludge the windows audio stack onto it, rather than re-write it for Mac. And that was back when Cakewalk was still expected to turn a profit for Gibson every year. So no unlimited development budgets, and any Mac port would have needed to sell enough copies to make that effort worthwhile. So in the end, the project never got past the Alpha stage as reality set in...
