Do you have your projects on a separate disk drive? You will find an immediate improvement in performance if you add a drive for them, even an external SSD or better NVMe drive

Instrument Track View Controls: Velocity vs. Gain
Wookiee replied to murat k.'s topic in Feedback Loop
Gain controls the amplification that can applied in a track to the Audio of either an Audio track or the Audio track of a Software Synth. As such it is something that only applies to amplifiers. Velocity is A MIDI CC control that can be applied to a number of different parameters within a synth. Though frequently used to control the volume of a note, it can be used to open or close a filter, or increase or decrease the resonance of a filter, or modify the shape of an envelope or conture, or any other MIDI CC command. Consequently it only applies to MIDI. They are completely different in their function and there would be no value in what you suggest. At the risk I suggest you perhaps take time to learn the difference between the two. Perhaps also learn about gain stageing in audio mixing and what gain is in an amplifier. It 8s possible to have both a gain control and a volume control in an amplifier. Gain dictates how much increase in power the amplifier adds to a signal. Volume is strictly an attenuator control, it can not increase the loudness of a signal only reduce it. You may like to try using split instrument tracks, these give you an Audio track and a MIDI track, it is my preference which I use for all my projects. -
Seems multiple posting of similar links leads directly to a rabbit hole.

You are most kind Mark, thanks for your ears and time.
-
Oh look a rabbit hole, oops.
-
Thank you Keith, always a possibility.

The mix sounds fine here Keith, as to the horse no need to flog it, the commentary in the lyrics is valid especially in these troubled times. I do wonder if you might consider an instrument lead in the gaps between verses, just a furry thought.

It doesn't bother me, I just thought you would like to know that it was out of sync even at high resolution. -
Arturia Analog Lab update issues. (Not a deal)
Wookiee replied to Vernon Barnes's topic in Instruments & Effects
No issues here, either standalone or in my DAW. -
Arturia synths/fxs, sluggish GUI [not Sonar issue]
Wookiee replied to KWILD's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
@KWILD Not seeing any issues here with standalone or in Sonar with either Instruments or FX from Arturia. I tried Analogue Lab Pro (V), CS-80 Version 4, Emulator II, and the FX Rotary CLS-222 and EFX Fragments My PC spec is in my signature however it does not include my GPU which is an Nvidia RTX 4060 using driver 31.0.15.4601 which I believe is out of date. Regarding your video driver are you using the Gaming driver? Apparently much better results than the standard one. -
Not bad AndyB01, is it me or does it have a late 60's early 70's vibe? Mix works reasonably here.

I downloaded the file after listening to the MP3, it is very cool stuff, one observation the left channel is consistently louder then the right by a couple of dB's also the left chanel looks clipped in so much as all the peaks are identical but the right is not so. See below.

@GTsongwriter regarding the comment about listening lower graphics, I listened on my 4K TV YouTube app and my proper 5.1 audio system. -
Even CD's perfer at least -0.1 below. Personally I prefer to be -1.0 for CD's people do have volume controls. If you get the Pro version of Youlean loudness meter, he has a number of presets for the different popular streaming services.

Is it me or is there a little bit of a sync issue between the image and the vocal? Mix sounds quite reasonable. -
Interesting, what did you use?
-
Thank you sir, always nice to know when the sounds work together.
-
Sounds quite good here, all the voices have their own space and can be clearly be heard, just one tiny little nit, could do with a little more weight on the kick not quite punching through the mix, I can hear it but it doesn't quite have the presence I would expect. . Unless you were going for a more retro mix.
-
The vocal gets a little lost in the overall sound wash, whilst I can hear a kick it has little weight. Probably a good song hiding in there, if the vocal was a little more forward. The left and right channels are louder than the centred vocal.
