About Me

  1. So I got myself a MIDI Controller Keyboard. After fiddling around with the knobs and knob settings (unrelated) I've decided to try and set up loop recording. I somehow managed to edit the "Record" section to make it work, however, 90% of the time, it doesn't work. I have 2 MIDI inputs bound to VST tracks (Synth1 and Sketching Orchs, but it didn't matter which plugin I used). I record the first section, wait out one or two loops, record the second section on the second instrument and after the loop starts again the second melody starts playing using the first instrument. After I stop the recording everything is fine again. Video Demonstration: I've tried: - Changing everything in the "Record" tab - 2 different keyboards - Sending MIDI data using different MIDI Channels for each track rather than Omni - Switching drivers from ASIO4ALLv2 to Fl Studio ASIO - Changing the order of the tracks - Recording directly into the tracks (Skipping the MIDI Inputs entirely). - Finding references reading the manual So... Any thoughts? I'm using the latest version of Cakewalk. Edit: Before posting this I decided to take another look. Turns out that this bug only happens if I start to play at the end of the loop (holding a key while the loop is going to it's beginning). If that happens (and that happens a lot to me), the whole recording that you are currently taking will inevitably play sound from the first instrument (after you're done recording, during the recording everything sounds fine). Also found a bug (Is this a good place to put out bugs?): The keybind for "Arm Recording" doesn't work if you start recording and then try to change it (it works in playback mode though). "Allow Arm Changes During Playback/Record" is ticked and I can change the Track Arm using the mouse whether I am recording or simply playing back.
  2. Hi, When playback Rex file on audio track, the slice playback timing changes from RXP or other Rex players. I noticed that the groove was different. If bounce and compare them, you can see the timing of each slices will go back and forth around 10ms. Thanks
  3. Hey! I'm user of SAMSON G-Track Pro, as same as before version of this mic... but After reinstall Cakewalk, i can't use this MIC anymore. But why? I already reinstall the microphone, set the optimal settings and Cakewalk don't want to use it. Can you help me?
  4. Hello everyone, for some weeks I have serious bug on cakewalk. my software closes alone during my work sessions, with no warning message or bug report. and this bug is driving me crazy, I lost 5 hours of recordings last time. In addition to these, Cakewalk often bug because of my virtual instruments, without my being able to save my work (as the error message indicates) if you have solutions I'm interested! thank you in advance :) ps: sorry for my english i'm french 😅
  5. I was trying to sample an instrument with a USB microphone and if I used anything other than MME, it was a garbled mess of static. The weird thing is, it was the right length going into Cakewalk, like the spacing of the audio peaks was right, but when I stopped recording, it just sped up the recording and was static. 6. Hi, the KeyLab MK II uses a bidirectional SysEx communication with AnalogLab, so that you normally can see what you choose or edit on the display of the keyboard. Unfortunately the communication only works from the the keyboard to AnalogLab, but not back. So you can control presets and parameters, but you get no visual feedback on the keyboards display.
  7. Hi all! Can anyone replicate these 2 step sequencer bugs? (Although I'm not sure #2 is technically a bug, but at least for me it doesn't behave as expected). Bug 1: Undocked Step Sequencer window status not remembered after closing window Create a blank project and create a step sequencer clip Double click the step sequencer clip and it should open docked Undock the step sequencer Close the undocked step sequencer window Double click the step sequencer clip again and it has forgotten it was undocked - it opens docked again Bug 2: Step sequencer playback marker cannot handle groove-clip looped step sequencer clips As I mentioned above, I'm not sure this is technically a bug, but at least for me it doesn't behave as expected. Extend a step sequencer clip several measures using groove-clip looping (CTRL + L and drag) Play the clip and watch the step sequencer window: the playback meter only works the first measure, then it's blank. I would expect it to loop and indicate current step as long as the clip has been looped. Note: The PRV seems to also not be able to display notes in groove-clip looped step sequencer clips. Only the notes in the first bar are shown. (I find it really useful that all note changes in the step sequencer are also immediately shown in the PRV – love it! I would just love them to be shown when looped as well. ) I am using Cakewalk 2019.07 Build 79. Thanks for a great product!
  8. I think this bug has been in cbb ever since I used it. I wanted to record it using my screen recording software but for some reason theres no audio when I play back the footage So everytime I would drag a kick onto the play list it would distort and stretch. Not sure how this is caused but any help would be appreciated!
  9. A problem that has been unfixed. Sometimes pressing play will suddenly create a loud beep continuously until you click the midi/audio reset and then click an input echo button. During recording it sometimes does the loud beep but when you stop it will actually stop, most of the time. Sometimes just clicking an input echo button on any channel will work, other times you must reset audio/midi. No idea what causes this but its the only DAW I've used that does this.
  10. I can't install Cakewalk. Every time I start the download (In the process of: Downloading... (0/5) ), it suddenly stop. The time that the download stop it's random: could spend an hour downloading, and sometimes just passed 15 minutes, but it always stop (Sometimes when the progress it's (5/5) or (3/5). I don't know if this it's normal. But I've tried install cakewalk for an entire week and I'd never made it. What can I do? (Btw: my download speed is very bad tho, meaby that's the main issue, but there's no other alternative?)
  11. Bear with me here; this is an interesting one. So this morning I'm mixing this project that I've been working on for weeks. No issues, made no major changes (just parameters on plugins, volume, etc. No new plugins, no deletion of old plugins, no new recording, no alteration of existing clips). It's playing just fine. I then go to export the project, as I've done a hundred times before. The export is screwed...it's ten seconds of mangled feedback and noise, and then silence for the rest of the project (roughly 15 minutes or so). I try exporting again, same issue. I then try simply playing my project...and suddenly, I have no audio whatsoever. The meters are moving, but there is no sound. I closed and reopen Cakewalk;, no dice. I restart my computer; no dice. I check that my interface is working with other programs; it is. So then I figure it's gotta be a plugin issue. Sure enough, I bypass all FX bins on the tracks themselves, and bypass my master bus chain. Suddenly, I have audio (albeit unprocessed of course). Leaving the FX bins on the tracks bypassed, I enable my master bus FX bin and have zero audio again. Cool; so now we know it's a plugin that's on my master bus (makes it easier to isolate, because I only have a handful of plugins on my master). Find that, and disable it there and anywhere in the tracks I also have it, and we'll go from there, right? So I disable the plugins one-by-one until suddenly, my audio comes back. Seems JST Clip is the culprit. Kind of annoying, but something I can do without if need be. Except that I disable it again to test, and my audio is still playing and now being processed by that plugin, as if nothing's wrong. So I start reenabling plugins in reverse...one, two, three, everything's good until the random 4th one (happens to be LP EQ the first time). But if I start at the beginning of the process, it'll pick a different plugin to have a problem with each time. You can see where this is going. I cannot isolate a specific problem plugin. Frustrated, I uninstalled my entire FX chain and reinstalled. Viola, it works! Go to export....and the entire situation repeats. Also, now every time I reopen the project, there's insane feedback for about 10 seconds, and then it's gone (and then of course I have no audio). Out of curiosity, I've gone through other elimination processes...there's no commonalities. It's not a "Slate" thing, it's not a "JST" thing, it's not a "Voxengo", it's not a "Sonitus" thing, etc... and it doesn't appear to be any of my synths (Addictive Drums 2, TruePianos and SI Strings). Cakewalk is fully updated, as is W10 and my interface drivers. And again, this problem quite suddenly appeared out of the blue today. Anyone have any ideas? I am literally at a standstill right now and quite frustrated. I guess just for additional info, my Master Bus FX Chain is currently: LP EQ>Slate Virtual Mix Rack (FG Bomber and CS Lift)>Slate Virtual Tape Machines>Slate Virtual Buss Compressor FG-Grey [x2]>JST Clip>Boost11>Voxengo Span. But again, none of these appear to consistently be "THE" problem, as it seems to vary. Also, obviously I have other plugins on various tracks...but there's definitely a problem with something on my master chain specifically, so I'm trying to start there. Unless there's a bigger, overall problem with Cakewalk itself.
  12. Hello all, LONG time Cakewalk and Sonar user here. I just made the move to the new forums and I like it so far. However I think I have found a bug, or at least have a question. I remap some of my key binds, specifically the horizontal and vertical zoom in to my arrow keys. Left arrow to make all of them shorter or longer and up and down arrow keys to make the I\O's taller or skinnier. The horizontal works perfectly fine, however the vertical only partially works. When I hit up or down on the arrow keys to make the I\O's taller or skinnier, it works. However, regardless of which I\O I currently have selected, it always scrolls down to the bottom I\O. This is kind of annoying as I use these keys a LOT and have to constantly scroll back up to my current I\O's that I'm working on. For example, I will have 20 I\O's and I'm currently highlighted on I\O #4 and I want to make the strip a bit taller (or shorter) I would adjust it and then it always scrolls down to the very bottom I\O, in this case, I\O #20. I checked my key binds and have them correctly configured. Is this a bug or something? I don't remember this happening in any other versions of Sonar, as I have done this key binding to all versions of my Cakewalk products.
  13. This issue may have been solved in the most recent update, but there was this bug I kept getting where often during playback and even recording, but specifically playback, I sometimes would press play just to be stuck with no sound while it would not allow you to stop, close or do anything unless you (A: force closed the program or (B: had bandlab assistant running and you could quit that app which would also close cakewalk. Here is what to do if you ever encounter this situation. Turn on and off any tracks Input Echo button. It will resume playing with sound and everything will function properly again. Hope that helps!
