  1. I'm still rocking an RME 9632 PCI card. This thing is old, I can't believe they still sell it and not only do they but it's also $550 just for the PCI card and no XLR breakout cable - that's more than many new audio interfaces for a nearly obsolete PCI interface. I was gonna upgrade at some point to the RME UCX, though that's about $1300-1400 away for a used one. Some of these newer popular interfaces are pretty affordable, like the IK and Audient stuff. I wonder how they compare to RME's stuff.
  2. Yeah I've been going back and forth for some time on whether to get Trash 2 or not. It comes up on kvr for $10 sometimes though I don't know if that included expansions or not or what those are even worth. I've just been concerned it'd end up another saturator/distortion thing in the folder
  3. D@mn. Another legend is gone. RIP
  4. D@mn that looks and sounds like fun dude, nice pics. "I Still Love You" is my favorite song of theirs by far. Paul Stanley's also my favorite rock singer. That's actually always been the case even before I became a fan. My favorite type of rock vocalist are those like Jim Morrison, Billy Idol, Danzig, and of course Elvis who they all are derivatives of to some degree, especially Danzig. But Paul's got that voice when he was at the top of his game, such as in this video. Another vocalist with a very similar sound to Paul Stanley would be Jeff Scott Soto who sang on Yngwie's "I'll See the Light Tonight." What I've really wanted to see but have never been able to find is Paul Stanley performing "Phantom of the Opera"
  5. I'm a huge KISS fan, but I'm not gonna pretend to have been one since I was a kid. I wasn't. I didn't dislike them per se, but as a latchkey kid who grew up on MTV when it was just videos they just weren't Europe or Bon Jovi enough for me. But around six years ago when I started putting in an hour daily on the elliptical, that's when I truly "discovered" KISS. The hour-long workout allowed me to hear an entire album each day and I went through their whole discography chronologically this way. And I've been given some s#!t for this but I came out of that with my favorite album of theirs being Music from "The Elder." The other albums are great, and actually I'd say my second favorite KISS album is "Dynasty" which along with "The Elder" essentially has me b@st@rdized from the rest of the Army. But "The Elder" was something different and sounded a lot like BOC to me who, incidentally, I had also discovered chronologically back then just prior to taking on KISS. And of course I didn't have that set in stone bias of having been a classic KISS fan from childhood. I've never heard of this show.. it looks like something my Grandma would've watched, but KISS does a great job on "The Oath" here, especially Gene, and while it's hard to hear in this video this song actually has a constant double kick going throughout the chorus.
  6. I believe Billy Joel has the best line after Tina around one minute in
  7. But I'll tell you this.. F'n Canada owes me dearly for Nickelback
  8. Perhaps. They probably have a dog though.
  9. Plugs like OmniChannel channel are pretty unique. Yeah you can always put piecemeal together, but in a single plug it may be one of the only plugs out there that doesn't really have an equivalent as far as convenience and ease of getting a great sound from it afaik. Actually, if there is something like it or better from another manufacturer I'd like to hear about it. But I can't think of much else at the moment that waves does that no one else does.
  10. And I'm curious; are there any Waves plugs that any of you can't live without and which no equivalent currently exists elsewhere?
  11. Is Waves intentionally doing things that may cause things to break and force people to wup as the only fix? Because they can update their brains out all they want but I guess I don't see why that has to render older versions broken, as almost happened to me w/ my v. 9 plugs during the one before last WC update which forced me to get Waves on the phone. I guess it comes down to whether or not they want to drop support for whichever legacy versions, leaving you w/ either wup or no more plugin. What's the oldest version of their plugs that Waves currently supports? I feel like they barely support v.9.
  12. That's actually a freebie worth getting as his free stuff is better than a lot of paid stuff
  13. That's a good combo, and what I'm sticking with. At some point we got to be happy with what we got man. When will we leave well enough alone? Probably not as long as the grass is greener over there
  14. That's messed up. Those guys actually did get scammed. When I sell on there I offer to accept "friends and family" for buyer's sake, otherwise buyer pays fees. But yeah insisting on only "friends and family" is shady af especially when the dude was saying stuff that didn't even make sense. So that must be what the guys trying to sell their entire Waves account a.k.a "Waves account takeover" are up to .. so the seller avoids the Waves fees, which I think average around $10 per plugin for the seller.
  15. All I know about Canada is they've got some great smoke. Back in the day, before this whole pot shop on every corner in Seattle nonsense, I used to buy smoke from this dude in Canada who called himself "BC Bud".. I think I found him on some pot forum and you'd send him a money order and he'd mail it to you in a vac pac and honestly I couldn't believe he had the b@lls to do it but it's still some of the best smoke I've ever smoked. That's about the extent of my experience with Canada. Thanks
  16. It ain't all that though. There's just not much there and it's a single instrument.. So, e.g. when it says "Low Ocatve Baby Grand" don't think you'll be getting a full baby grand w/ some low ovtave tuning; it's a heavy reverb piano and just 12 notes of it, and all the other sounds are spread out across the keyboard in a single instrument and it's all just very minimal. Maybe it's worth $3.75
  17. Here's a 25% off code bringing it to $3.75 SH1vtt25
  18. Lol you guys are still going? I'm sitting here eating dinner with my show on pause reading this s#!t lol I need a f'n life
  19. Pshhh.. This guy and his whole d@mn family eats sausage and a gat dang t-bone steak for BREAKFAST
  20. Word, Happy New Year to all my good people here - as well as the bad people here too.. bad @ss that is, which is everyone. This 40 of Old E I drink to you all! @Piotr, what country are you in? I'm in Seattle. Actually, where in the world are all of you?
  21. ^^No better explanation. Guys don't use that word, but for a woman.. that's their word and from them it's usually good. Don't go asking her about it either; she'll see you were put off by it and maybe she'll back track and say something "worse" like "No, it was really cute.." Ok, it may have also meant that she didn't care for it too much and was shining you on. This girl in my life, every time I play her a song I'm working on she goes overboard w/ how awesome it is.. way overboard, like she thinks that's what I expect. I know she's trying to please me but still I can't get a read as to how she really feels about it, so now I just get a kick out of watching how far she'll go to tell me how incredible it was. She's never used the word "cute" on me though so I'd say you're at least better off than I am if that's any consolation.
  22. No dude. It's against the guy code for a guy to use that word on some other dude's song, but from a woman I'd take it as a compliment all day. Let it go.
