  3. @jackson white Not sure ANY newer Audio I/Fs have actual midi ports anymore. If they do, its rare. Most things that were connected via MIDI have now reverted to USB, an example the Akai MPK mini keyboards and the like

  9. Its software thats doing its best to hide itself from finding it So looks like you need Synthesizer V to run the Solaria files linked in the op?
  10. Changed to Requires ilok SOFTWARE. I only mentioned this as I have noticed some here have issue with Ilok, even the software
  11. REQUIRES ILOK SOFTWARE Also free are: BIG BANG ORCHESTRA - https://www.vsl.co.at/en/BBO_Map/BBO Fujara Flute - https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Free_Instruments/Fujara_Flute
  12. Sorry for being dumb How does this work? Is it if you buy THE ONE at any stage you initially get 3 Free and thereafter FREE ones are added as more people join even after you complete the purchase?
  13. It is very heavy on resources I have found ( Core i5, 16GB Ram, Audient Evo 4, 2TB Samsung SSD )
  14. @Philip G Hunt Nope not at all. I could ask back at you do you work for Wacom ( just joking same ) I just mentioned Huion as a credible cheaper alternative to Wacom for those who cannot afford a Wacom + after me doing lots of research pre purchase of many tablets
  15. Yes .. all i am saying is it aint black and white as dont buy "cheap" AND it isnt just about Wacom only. Yes there is plenty of cheap crap on Amazon and elsewhere as is the case with many products BUT anyone buying an item like this should do there homework first, looking at the reviews, best of etc. One is looking for trouble if you just buy based on price. However its not all JUST Wacom. After a small bit of research you will find Wacom is at the top + costs most BUT there are others just as good at a fraction of the cost like Huion. I want to stress the following about Huion. This is ONLY my experience of there stuff after research at the time. Others here might have had different experience with Huion.
  16. Would have to disagree somewhat. I wouldnt bundle all cheaper than wacom graphics tablets the AVOID bracket. I have an A4 HUION tablet + Pen that are far better value than wacom and in my view just as good. I have had both https://www.huion.com/pen_tablet/Huion/H610PRO_V2.html
  17. Well @InstrEd .. Its a simple cloud DAW but not just for loops as it also does midi instrument tracks. It uses a built in synth one could say. In image below just click the ORANGE icon left of Trance Pluck and it opens up as you can see below it. The 3 tracks there are MIDI which you can edit as usual and add to, and you can also right click on each and EXPORT REGION/As Midi then import into any DAW on your system and use but with your own VSTs. Yes you can also drag drop samples if you wish. Save the project in Bandlabs online DAW and then go into your Cakewalk and via File menu, browse bandlab projects .. there you can open up the track you were working on in the Bandlab DAW inside CW and work on it as a normal CW project. Its the portability aspect is interesting as you can use this bandlab cloud daw on your phone, tablet while out and bout
  18. Its a browser DAW which is also integrated into Cakewalk itself as an option in the file menu to down/upload projects and also collaborate with others who dont have CW via the cloud Daw. Its FREE for all to use. As a member of a band whos members are in different countries and on different platforms it is an ideal solution for creativity and passing projects back and forth. Also music and the cloud came into its own during the isolation times in the pandemic. In fact look at Pink Floyd reformed last week or so with a new single with Ukrainian Singer who is fighting on the frontline. He did acapella version of a track he had from Kyiv using TikTok I think. Floyd then took this and did the music under it + video Get with the program .. cloud is the way forward for music and collaboration ..
  19. @Tim Smith This song starter feature is just a feature and is optional for you to use or not. In your case " the portable aspect" is the thing. When looking at it try see it differently .. to try and fit into your workflow. Ways of looking might even be an ideal way to backup tracks that can be looked at or even added to at a whim while out and about, no one knows where the muse will come .. this allows that. Headphones on, in a pub, after a few and being able to listen and maybe even able to add new ideas to a track you were stuck on.
  20. Well, it depends in the way you look at it. As a basic tool and now with the song starter feature its a great ideas machine which you can use on the go anywhere via laptop, table, phone etc. Then when back home and for serious work load the idea into your local CW and have at it. In my view its not so small on the functionality either if you dig into it. All the basics are there and sometimes less is more, less clutter to get side tracked with. As you saw in my example above I turned the original idea track in the BL Daw into an 80s type thing in CW As I said you can go both ways BL -> CW and CW -> BL ..
  21. This is the track above in the Bandlab DAW ( I renamed it as BL-80s1 from the whale name Notice top right is the INVITE Button. If your other band members or other muso's you work with also have a FREE Account with BL, you can invite them to collaborate with you on the track. No issues with cross platform as it is all in the browser. Double clicking a track clip opens up the midi window for that clip BTW nothing stopping you from going the other way either - From CW project up into the BL Cloud Daw via midi OR wav
  22. I think its a bit more than fun TBH, the workflow is really useful, even more so when you chuck in the collaboration aspect also in the online DAW with other band members or other musicians ( they do not need to have CW ). Work with the song starter tool in the online Bandlab DAW. Here is one I did earlier: BL-80s1.mp3 Then go to your CW and via the FILE menu / Browse Bandlab projects and load the same track up locally in your CW. Then change the instruments with your own VSTis. Here is that track above using NI Studio Drummer ( Kontakt ) + Cherry Audio Mercury 4: BL-80s1_CW.mp3
