  1. Why isn't the Drum map editor not built into the PRV? You could click a plus sign by the notes track(Piano Key) to expand the info from the drum map and be able the edit it there. Have you ever just wanted to rename the drum map instrument name in the PRV?
  2. That would make envelope volume and other edits much faster. Like Alt-click or CTRL-click could add 2 nodes close together. Max Arwood
  3. 1) Have you ever wanted to turn off all the sends on a track?? Like turning off several reverbs on a track to hear it dry? 2) Have you ever wanted to put a group manager group on 2 track effects to compare them? Or compare groups of effects on a tracks or a bus in one click? Max Arwood
  4. No, the best way is to learn the plugin manager. You are going to want to sort plugins by category. Make folders like (Choose you own titles) Most used, Reverbs, Compressors, EQs, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Special effects, Distortion, Vintage, Saturation etc. When you get this set up you fill be glad you did, If you don't know FX chains, this would be the second thing to set up. 5. The only ones I use all the time are Pro Q3 and Saturn 2. Q3 in every project-not on tracks just buses. In Q3 you have some options you can change to lower CPU usage. Manual says Q3 is more efficient than Pro Q and Pro Q2. If I didn't have Q3 I would use Waves Q10 or Renaissance Eq then Melda or Waves for the dynamic EQ. Max Arwood
  6. Oh my bad, sorry User 905133 - I did not change it so I just thought it was still on MME. Thanks msmcleod for reshowing me the right answer! Thanks, Max Arwood
  7. Deleted - it rebuilt but still not right. Any ideas? Not sure what to do??? Thanks, Max Arwood
  8. The ports read correctly everywhere but Cakewalk. The midi device shows correctly in all other daws and shown on Midi-OX screen and Samplitude screen captures as correct. I have reinstalled the drivers, moved ports and even sent MOTU to the shop to check. I think it is a corrupted branch of the registry where Cakewalk stores the midi info. I have older backups I could copy that branch from, but I don't know where it is located. Thanks, Max Arwood
  9. Pro Q3 is the bomb! EQ and Dynamic EQ. Great GUI! It does not color the sound - it is a very clean and transparent EQ. I use Waves Q10 (less CPU) for little stuff and Q3 for the bigger edits. I love all the Fabfilter stuff - they seem to do well in Cakewalk. I don't remember a crash related to their plugins ever. Max Arwood
  10. Cakewalk midi setup file trashed. I have a MOTU midi express 128. It has worked great for years. About a month ago all my midi inputs and outputs vanished in Cakewalk. They still show up in Midi-OX, Samplitude, and Vegas, and Reaper. Midi-OX reads these and is correct and Samplitude reads this - Years ago I named the ports. like Port 1 _TD8 etc- Port 2 K2500 But I don't know which port is which??? How can this be restored? Thanks for any help, Max Arwood
  11. I have envelopes all over my buses. Volume, special effects, track plugin parameters. Sometimes as 5 or more. Don’t know your experience level but - There is Output volume And input gain. Could a second env have control? You could try and delete all Env on that bus. Edit-> select special Click env’s. Then add back output volumes where you want them to be. Be sure OutpVlm is set to 0.0. Click edit filter choose bus output volume. Then put your nodes on the volume env line and move them where you need them to be. Max Arwood
  12. At least this one is in my price range! How did you get a Key? Did you get Vienna Key or already have one? Or Steinberg? Do they mail it from Germany? Can't wait that long -LOL! Thanks, Max Arwood
  13. I haven't had any problems. Works fine. Max Arwood
  14. I hate getting new stuff I think will help my mixes. I waste tons of time checking it out on older tracks to see what is does to them LOL!!! Max Arwood
  15. You can get more reverb “percent” by putting it on the track as opposed to a send. Sometimes I do use reverb on a track. It has to be a special track to spend that much CPU on a single effect. Valhalla Super Massive, Valhalla Shimmer, and Unfiltered Audio Sandman I have used on a track for crazy effects. I have also used Lexicon Concert Hall so I could tweak the reverb for just one Instrument- usually a lead or main instrument. Mostly Reverbs are put on the bus because it is an efficient use of CPU. Max Arwood
  16. All that math sounds right but your ears are the best tool. I usually have at least 5 reverbs on the bus. Some times I have 8 . I usually have 30-35 buses - why - CPU! It is the way to go with effects reverbs, compressors, echo, pitch, and other special effects. Envelopes on busses and tracks can control parameters to change any serving in all those plugins too! Max Arwood
  17. Thanks for the info. I’ve just. never look at any of those. Max Arwood
  18. I have Platinum installed but don't see that FX Chain Presets folder? C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\FX Chain Presets\Anderton Collection\Processors Where could I find it? Max Arwood
  19. Look under preferences Audio - configuration file. Near the end Of the file is a setting called ThreadSchedulingModel. If it is not set to 2 change it to 2 and try the song again. 2 is the most common setting. Some systems work better with 3. You can try both. It could have gotten changed. Hope that helps.
  20. There is also Clip groups - locks clips in a group press [ If you move 1 all move. If you add effects all grouped clips get that effect. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR X2&language=3&help=Arranging.22.html Max Arwood
  21. Thanks for listening! I like it both ways. I wanted to move the strings in and out for some variation. I will probably lower them. They are a bit much in places. Still got to figure out a better ending too. Max Arwood
  22. Did you find the midi offset I sent info to you about? Max Arwood
  23. I still am only a BIAB beginner even though I have been upgrading every few versions since before they numbered by the year released! Thinking about spending a little more time with it. Thanks for the GREAT piece you did you did! It encourages me to try again!! Thanks, Max Arwood
