  1. Yes, my wife will kill me if I spent 200-250 on another reverb LOL!!
  2. I can't find the demo downloads? Can someone post a link? I have sound toys micro shift, but are any of the Eventide's pitch/harmonizers extra special?
  3. I have never had a CTRL-S or a menu - file - save not save a song unless my drive was corrupted. I am still paranoid about losing hard work done on a song so- I always use "save as" This allows me to have multiple backups -> Song 01 save as Song 02 save as Song 03 And if I press CTRL-S between the numbered ones, I get the "Cakewalk" backup file. Song 03.cwp.~2022-05-31-00-45-03-717 (These are hidden to Cakewalk until you rename them and take off the .~2022-05-31-00-45-03-717 part) You might have some hidden backups in the directory of your song. File Explorer will see them. You can rename them. You might have to use Song 03b.cwp because the file name Song 03.cwp might already be in use. I don't want to make anyone mad either lol!!! I hope you already do incremental backups and don't need any of this. Are you using CTRL-S or the menu file-save? Did you look for the cakewalk backup?
  4. The title says it all. EDIT-Added - Any software recommendations? I want to share cakewalk video and audio both ways. Is it possible? I want to, one on one, teach mixing / editing. Thanks
  5. Also just turn off vst scans on cakewalk startup. You don’t need to do that. You only need to scan after adding plugins or if you are having problems with plugins.
  6. I was just watching a video by Marc Daniel Nelson. He was using that and the real thing. I thought about it but decided not to buy it. What do you guys like about it?
  7. Yes thanks. I wish there was a plug-in refresh button. It worked the day before. Something got crossed up some where. A refresh would probably make it work. I do have a bunch of plugins and soft synths. Wow I just ran project scope. 161 plug-ins! It is a pop piece with some orchestration. Didn’t check how many soft synths. I sure wish project scope would add synths. Thanks
  8. ASIO moved to 2048 still happening. Yes this is what I do first too. Thanks
  9. No but thanks. I will look to see if there are any 32 bit plugins in it.
  10. I have a song I have been working on. I saved it a few days ago, at that time it was playing ok. When I opened it back up to play it today, all I get is a pop. I have had this happen a few times before on different songs. I think it might be plugin related. Anyone had this happen before? I would be grateful for any help.
  11. Yea I think you figured out my problem. I have 1,000,001 plug-ins. Now if I could just figure out which one it is lol. Just kiddin. How do you set the time out you were talking about.
  12. I tried version 7 to help a friend. I could never get past the plug-in scan. Harrison said I should take out all my plugins and try to load the program. Lol it ain’t gonna happen.

    MODO BASS 2

I hope they do something about the tuning. Octaves are way out.
  14. Just want to say wow! A lot of over 10 TB drives out. Sure could use a couple.
  15. Try preferences - project->midi-> Zero Controllers when play stops. Try unchecking this.
  16. I’ve always wanted the advanced. Never had the budget for it. Glad you were able to snatch up such a deal!!
  17. I still think it is number one from the enclosed list. What exactly are you doing in Cakewalk? Looping stuff, recording, softsynths, midi? How many tracks and plugins? (Does bypassing all effects help any?-you said this did not help) FYI muting clips does not reduce CPU it only silences them. Archiving will disengage the track and reduce CPU and hard disk use. This is a good technique when there are extra tracks that you don't need for the moment. Freezing tracks is another option to reduce CPU and lighten the load of a project. What is your computer set up CPU, memory etc.? What sound card and driver are you using? When zooming in, did you see the click in the audio waveform display? There are many things that cause pops and clicks. Here are just a few-> 1) You MUST fade in and out all audio clips. The default amount can be set in preferences. If you didn't get a pop on an unfaded audio clip, you were just lucky. The volume of the click is usually track volume related. And yes, it can be slightly random depending on how the computer spools the clip. Try this - Save the song as song02, so we will be experimenting on a copy and not the real track. In the track view you could do this -> Click on the number of any track - like #1 then CTRL-A - all tracks should be selected. Then click "clips" in the menu above the tracks that begins with - View Options Tracks "Clips" MIDI Region FX Choose the 5th bar menu item "Fade Clips". Be sure the radio button Fade is selected and fade in and out is set to 10 or more. 15 might be a good experimental number. Fade in and out set to Linear and replace existing curves is checked. Click OK. Play the song several times to see if the clicks still exist. If they are gone do number 10,14 and 15, otherwise continue. 2) Pops in actual recordings - bad wire/connections. Static electricity or other electrical interferences. Audio glitches in samples and loops. CPU glitches. Zoom in like Will said, look for it. Zoom in really close. It could look like a spike, but can also look like a small scribbly area. Edit this area out. 3) Latency set too low. This depends on the sound card and computer CPU. Many people try to set this too low. I know you can only set it so high depending on the type of recording/playback you are doing. Try a higher number - you could try 2 notches up from your current settings. 4) Not using a good driver in with your sound card - Cakewalk likes ASIO drivers (must be native [came with the card] not ASIO4all.) 5) Check audio and Hard disc meters - Is one is these high? 6) Anti-Virus Off - my computer barely runs projects with medium heavy plugin loads. I have to turn it off. Watch out, it will turn itself back on. 7) Some people have problems with their network cards. Disconnect from the internet. (I know some plugins like to phone home.) 😎 Turn off sound cards built into the mother board. 9) USB controllers/drivers can cause timing problems with DAWs 10) Preferences - Audio - Playback and recording - Fade on start and fade on stop milliseconds. Mine is set to 8 11) Preferences - sync and caching - Synchronization - set to trigger and freewheel, unless you have a separate world clock. 12) Preferences - sync and caching - file system you will have to experiment with these - my read and write caching are both turned on. Playback=2048 Record=512 13) Preferences - customization - editing - clips - Auto crossfade comps - mine is set to 14 14) Click the Track view Options menu and choose Auto Crossfade. Also, there is an off/on crossfade button on the same row as the View Options Tracks "Clips" MIDI Region FX - on the far right side of the screen contains crossfade off and on and ripple edit button. The crossfade button should be on. It will be Orange when it is on. Also look at https://bandlab.github.io/cakewalk/docs/Cakewalk Reference Guide.pdf page 168 more info on P543. You could also search the document and look at all 20 occurrences of auto crossfade.
  18. Starts and ends of clips need to be faded in or out. Even if the clip starts at zero crossing it can still pop. You shouldn’t turn off PDC.
  19. I have used VST2 and VST3 in the same projects when the VST3 came out. There were problems then (Before migration settings). I have older projects with VST2's and I have opened and edited, adding newer VST3's. The cakewalk auto migration worked well. I didn't have any issues. I always use and recommend VST3's now.
  20. I have the IKM plugins and the PA 9000J. I prefer the PA 9000J. I think it was a Greg Wells video that turned me on to the PA 9000J.
  21. I don't think the default setting actually processes the audio. I think it is a neutral effect in default. I'd like to hear what you say after you load all 50 into a track. Please post your results! I always wanted to do +3db on an EQ ; then -3db on the same EQ - multiple times on several different VST's and see what the changes would be. Fabfilter Q3 Weiss EQ1 Millennia NSEQ-2 Waves Linear Phase EQ Brainworx bx_digital V3 Ozone EQ Waves Q10 Waves H-EQ Never had the time to do the test. It's still on my to-do list.
  22. If you are doing concert piano stuff 88 key weighted is a must. If you are doing instruments, strings and synth a smaller unweighted would be best.
