  1. I will just point out that the Pearl concert grand has noise issues that were never fixed. I don't understand why it hasn't been withdrawn from sale.
  2. Thanks Peter, that's good enough for me. I figure at 36 for the Rhodes and Wurly or 48 for the bundle I would be mad not to get the bundle. It came about due to a current obsession with the CP70/CP80 sound but some comments on the 8dio YouTube demo of the CP70 suggested it had some out of tune notes, so I don't have my hopes up with that one. But for 12 I can take the risk. Fortunately I upgraded PC earlier this year so SSD space is not currently an issue. I decided to upgrade after adding up how much I'd spent on plugins and libraries and Daws. I was shocked. It made no sense to be using an 8 year old PC to save a few bucks.
  3. After watching a video on the Wurlitzer I'm starting to think these are likely to suffer from the same problem as other 8dio Kontakt libraries I've bought, which is all the articulations require manual use, and that means you can't really just play it the way you can most other libraries. You have to program it in. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems with other libraries they just figure out what articulations need to be played based on the velocity and the length of the notes etc.
  4. Some deeply sampled keyboards. Seems there's very few videos or written opinions about these, perhaps as they've historically been so expensive. https://8dio.com/products/studio-vintage-series-all-keyboard-bundle-for-kontakt-vst-au-aax?variant=41310046290120 Kontakt VST / AU / AAX (full version required) Vintage Hammond Organ, CP70 Electric Piano, Studio D6 Clavinet, Rhodes 54 Piano, Wurlitzer 200A Individually these are$18 each down from $98. Anyone got any experience with these?
  5. Have they got resizable UIs yet?
  6. Yeah they're burning a lot of bridges. I hope people are smart enough to boycott them rather than reward them for it. I'll be very wary about giving them any more money because their sh1tty sales practices caused me to regret spending several hundred dollars money with them in only 2.5 months. They're basically teaching people not to spend money with them because buying now is worse than buying later, with no grace period, and you can't trust their marketing messaging, because the opposite of what they've said about what's on offer has been true. They're also teaching people they have no ethics, they will lie about past promises and when evidence is presented they will cover it up and gaslight you into the bargain. Well, the lessons have been learned here.
  7. Didn't expect this to expire before black friday given it's called a black friday bundle haha damnit. That was a great price compared to their usual discounts.
  8. Yeah I took Drew at his word. Big mistake. He obviously doesn't call the shots, and the people who do couldn't care less whether their official representative has any credibility whatsoever. Fool me once, shame on you (UA).
  9. Yep I will sit this out and wait for a better offer, next time they take into account what is owned and give a $50 coupon on top. Since they have done it before, they'll do it again probably in about 6 to 9 months. UA is the new IK.
  10. Just saw an email from Universal Audio on the 6th of November. Subject: Last chance to get 80% off UAD plug-ins. This is your last reminder! There are just hours left to get more than 50% off Native UAD bundles – that's up to 80% off per plug‑in with these savings! Don’t miss out on the analog tone you’ve been looking for. Hurry before Bundle Month is over! Ends 11/6. Compare this (attached) with the $299 deal on offer a day later. Bad faith marketing if you ask me. Using fomo tactics to get people to buy a deal you're about to significantly better the next day. Tsk tsk tsk. Way to burn bridges with your customers to make a fast buck.
  11. It's time to get out the pitchforks. Hehe just kidding. Let's starve them out by waiting for a decent upgrade offer instead. They're the ones who need our business, not the other way around.
  12. Need to wait for these bundles to appear on the UA store directly, that's when they'll be able to discount based on what you already own.
  13. What do you mean either $5 or $9? Did you receive two upgrade offers? I had an upgrade offer of $9.99
  14. Sarah Schachner whose soundtrack music I adore (especially COD Infinite Warfare) also uses Cubase. I bought 11 Pro but also bought Ableton Live simultaneously and never really tried to learn Cubase. Now I'm on Bitwig since it's a faster less buggy Ableton Live but I'm not finishing any music. Maybe I should try Cubase again. 11 is probably enough to try without upgrading first.
  15. Best you might be able to do is $68 via Thomann assuming you don't get whacked with some kind of additional tax. https://www.thomannmusic.com/gforce_ob_x.htm Unless you're a gambling man and want to try what people were talking about on GS; buy the Oberheim bundle on JRR shop with the forum code for $132.61 USD and see if it still redeems with OB-X included. Worst case scenario, you would likely be eligible for the 39 GBP upgrade fee on Gforcesoftware.com after redeeming the bundle, best case scenario you get OB-X "for free". The bundle with the updated contents including all 3 listed on GForce's site is 169 GBP. https://www.jrrshop.com/gforce-oberheim-bundle If it doesn't work, don't blame me!!!
  16. Via https://www.gforcesoftware.com/ login to your account then go to the product page, it should show you the price you would be charged, I don't think I had to add it to the cart to see the discount but you could do that just to be sure. Since I already owned SEM and OB-E the price for OB-X was only 39 GBP.
  17. Hopefully they can do something about the latency of the Denise plugins!

    Bon Voyage!

Hope it's all smooth sailing this time Larry! Alaska sounds amazing. Have a great trip.
  19. Virtual String Machine is on version 3 already. Version 2 to version 3 upgrade was free. The recent synths they've charged for upgrades have had totally rewritten synthesizer engines and totally new presets. Version 3 already has a pretty big UI and sounds really good. So if they just roll out a new skin and VST3 support + Apple Silicon support with the new preset browser, maybe it won't be a paid upgrade. But I guess the more work they put into it, the more justification there is for an upgrade fee, and fairly so.
  20. Yeah a UVI team member on a KVR thread confirmed it would be free on more than one occasion.
  21. Perpetual shmerpetual. It's a marketing exercise to recruit users to buy Imposcar 3 at a slight discount without giving the impression of deep discounting as a general rule. Just try limiting yourself to Imposcar 2 when you know how much better Imposcar 3 is 🤣 They did the same with Minimonsta recently, gave 1 away via Novation and then released 2 shortly thereafter with the discounted upgrade offer. I'm fine with it. I'll buy Imposcar 3 when it comes out. I already owned Imposcar 2. But it's not quite the giveaway that it seems. For anyone who does want to use Imposcar 2, there's a sneaky UI scale option buried away in the UI somewhere. I'm not in front of my studio machine at the moment but if you search for "Imposcar2 tutorial 3 gui sizes" there's a YouTube video from Gforce back in 2010 demonstrating how to resize it. It's a good example of the usability principle of affordances, and the lack thereof.
  22. I think this kind of deal is going to be exceedingly rare. Usually DiscoDSP only does 30% off. I bought Discovery Pro for $74.35 from Everyplugin in April 2022 The other thing to be aware of, though, is that DiscoDSP charges for major version upgrades. Version 7.9 came out in September so if you buy it now you may be asked to pay a fee to upgrade to version 8 before long. I haven't had to upgrade major version yet so I don't know how much that will be. Version 6 came out in 2013. Version 7 came out in 2020, and it's gone from 7.4 to 7.9 since April 2022 so speedier major version changes might be a strategy to increase revenue (like Native Instruments & Izotope is using), or maybe it just reflects the reality of support costs to keep compatibility with ever moving operating system and software interoperability targets. All I know is I don't really want to be on a hamster wheel of upgrade fees for bug fixes.
  23. As an owner of OB-E and Sem it was definitely cheaper to buy from Gforce directly, 39. 99 gbp converts to 49 USD vs 65 USD to buy from JRR with the coupon group. Was holding my finger on the trigger when it appeared on JRR as I thought if I waited they may be asked to remove the coupons like some brands do, locking in the $77 price, but I waited, and got it for 49 usd a couple hours later so I'm chuffed 🙂 Love these new GForce synths.
  24. Seems the upgrade pricing to Synth Anthology 4 is no longer available. Thought it might have been possible to upgrade a little cheaper. Probably for the best, I don't really use SA3 anyway.
