  1. Thanks for your concern Craig but my depression is professionally diagnosed and I assure you I’m under appropriate health care.
  2. Sorry to hear your dad passed away. Like many of us, I too understand the depth of feeling associated with such a loss. My condolences to you and others to whom he was close.
  3. Thanks for the expressions of support guys. I don’t have the temperament to deal with internet crap anymore. In the last several years I’ve suffered the loss of several close family members, and personal health issues including severe depression. At times the forum community was all that kept me sane and at other times the desire to be a part of everything and stay involved was so overwhelming that I had to withdraw for periods. Anyway that’s what was.
  4. You don’t need to import MIdI files. Sonar and CbB will natively open a MIDI file. Often that’s all it takes to clean up the crap fest that can sometimes occur on import. Just double click the file and it will either open or right click and select Open with>Sonar or CbB. I have CbB setup as the default program used to open MIDI files. All the best.
  5. I used to enjoy the Sonar forum and put in a lot of time generally as well as setting up the Software Resources and Utilities thread. While I’m not skilled to be able to create applications like alexsey and scook and others the least I could do was to curate their work and try to make it more accessible by promoting it and trying to encourage others to contribute their works. I don’t know how many PMs I sent to Meng and Noel asking what might become of it all. I even joined in threads where Meng and Noel were involved in exchanges with the forum members on similar what’s going to happen threads. And you know what. I was ignored out of existence. You know the expression, “just ignore it till it goes away”; well I finally got the hint and I have. Gone that is for the most part. I had plans for the future (in cooperation with management of course) to do things like Anderton had done with his Friday tips etc. I had discussed that and more with Craig when Gibson still held the reins. We discussed taking user contributions out of the Friday tips and giving them a managed home over in the Software thread. I had hoped in the future we could do far more than just another forum. I wish I could say “never mind” but I’m really bitter about it. Meng and Noel seem like real nice guys but not even a PM to say “no that doesn’t fit in with our plans”. Nothing; and I think it’s dead ignorant. So now I’ve done publicly what I wasn’t going to do but don’t really care what the ramifications are. Maybe I’ll get banned for daring to speak my mind. I’ll use CbB while it’s free but they’ll not get another cent or any kind of contribution from me. You know in all the time since I setup that Software thread, not once did anyone from Cakewalk by Gibson ever say that the efforts of Elffin and myself were appreciated. It was only Craig’s support of the whole idea and the fact that Karen just opened a sticky thread for me that it happened at all. Anyway that’s why I’m now only an occasional viewer and even less a contributor to this forum.
  6. Since the big panic as someone called it, I’ve continued to be a multi DAW user just as before. I used the crazy offers made at the time to add Cubase Pro to my collection. Despite having all the major DAWs I still gravitate to CbB. The major change for me is that nowadays I only read this forum occasionally and comment even less.
  7. I haven’t seen it mentioned or I missed it but even if updates are fine which they have been for me I would never update while in the middle of a project. Things can, and do go wrong Of course if the update provides some special must have feature, you need to way up any possible risks vs benefits.
  8. Great result. Thanks for the detailed rundown on the steps taken to fix it all up.
  9. Excellent. They really know their stuff. Literally. There’s no feeling better than getting a pain of a problem solved and getting back to the music.
  10. Sorry. I used the wrong terminology in my explanation.
  11. I run all the Waves Plugins without problem. I’m on the latest Win10 and CbB release as well. The reason for telling you this is to try and give you the confidence that a) the problem isn’t universal and b) that you can get it to work. If you can’t get help on the forum, contact Waves support by phone or email. They are excellent and will work with you. All the best. BTW, in addition to the post above; the Cakewalk scanner should only run when there’s a new plugin found, even if set to Scan on Startup which is the recommended and default setting. If the scanner hangs it’s often the case that there’s an error message hidden behind another open window that requires some action on your part. The scanning process will sit there until you clear the message.
  12. I rechecked my facts, it was Cubase 10 that added AAF support.
  13. No. Not thinking of OMF. Probably thinking of a different DAW.
  14. I thought it was added ages ago! will have to check
  15. Sadly illhealth has seen my DAW act a place holder in my computer to remind me why I have a computer just for music (mostly). Hopefully 2019 will see me well, and able to use it more
  16. What about the Software forum, especially the Resources and Utilities thread that I used to Moderate along with Elffin?
