  1. I asked because if this happens before the PC ever goes to sleep it's because the user disconnected it, not Windows. My PCs are now set to never sleep so Windows doesn't mess with things like that. I also set the lid to Nothing happens when closed. Because USB power saving also affects things like my printer I am disabling it as well, but until today it was enabled. FWIW I also disabled the disconnect warning in Preferences > Display so I'm not bothered by it.
  2. Click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of your post.
  3. I see no way to run it as admin inside CbB/Sonar, and all 3 buttons are grayed out when run standalone, admin or not. They are labeled VST Configutation, tho so maybe not so odd.
  4. Odd that you can't rename DXs with the Plug-in Properties button, only VSTs.
  5. Makes sense. But 99.9% of users don't have that ability. It looks like we have 2 options: 1) Keep the main view un-maximized to retain their visibility. OR 2) Click the top left hand icon and Enable floating so they float above the main view or on another screen... then save the project/template. When a project is saved, the current layout is remembered by the current screenset. Sadly they can't be docked in Multidock, which would be a major request if I used them. And I would if I could edit/create my own. In spite the manual's comment, they don't seem to be available with Sonar Platinum or CbB installers.
  6. Keep in mind this is exactly what Theme Editor is. It's actually based on Ben Staton's SonarPlus Skin Editor which he made for Sonar X1 back in 2011. There are many editors out there and some are free but I use Restorator which automatically makes a backup of any file it edits. Resource files that mainly affect the visual part of a program have little to no affect on the main program unless you get carried away. As long as the files are outside the main exe file you're safe from doing it any harm. Even if the program fails to run or throws a warning, you can easily return it to normal by keeping the original files in a safe place so they can be reused. Main problem with this is when program updates overwrite the files you edited making you reapply the edits.
  7. You could use a resource editor to change the wording in the String folder contained in the TTSRes file.
  8. The ZEDi 10 only has 2 stereo ins & outs. They are all shown in your screen shot. Analogue 1 = stereo pair 1+2. Pan channel 1 hard left & 2 hard right for 2 mono channels. Why it was disconnected from your system??
  9. Markers View = yes Markers Module = no If nothing else I'd like to see a Delete button when I right-click a Marker -or- click the Module dropdown and right-click a marker to delete. I never open or use the Markers View so it would add time and inconvenience to my workflow.
  10. It's in Menu Bar Options > Global... > VST Plug-ins, but not sure it's necessary as it's not necessary in CbB. In Sonar 8 go to Menu Bar Options > Initialization File... , fill in the option, click Set and Close, then close and reopen Sonar. Rescanning shouldn't be necessary but won't hurt anything if you do. FWIW, this does work in CbB, but all my attempts to make it work in Sonar 8 have failed. Nothing changes. This may be not do-able, current Windows has broken something, or a different qualifier is needed. If nothing else, you can rename the plugins yourself within Plugin Manager. Right-click FX Bin > Audio FX > Plug-in Layouts > Manage Layouts...
  11. I requested a " - " (delete) button for the Markers Module awhile ago.
  12. This zombie thread from 2019 is all very FASCINATING as the latest 2022 CbB manual says this on page 1405: Cakewalk includes a wide variety of StudioWare panels for popular MIDI devices, with new panels constantly under development here at Cakewalk, by equipment manufacturers, and by Cakewalk users. It lists 19 panels. I have 34 installed all dated 12/30/2011. They open in Sonar 8.3 but nothing happens in X1, 2 , 3, SPlat & CbB/Sonar. What's the trick to open them? [I zombied this thread because it seemed the most appropriate one for this post.]
  13. Title says it all (almost). edit:
  14. Is the external insert an actual plugin? If so, where is it or is it hardwired into CbB?
  15. Most Toast notes have white text and are easy to read. But some (usually warnings) have black text and aren't easy to read at all. Is this by design?
  16. I've been getting the Sign in to BandLab toast for some time but have been ignoring it, without incident so far.
  17. For me the BitBridge error had nothing to do with 32 bit plugins as it occurred as soon as Sonar (X1 thru 3) was launched and before any project was open. Running as admin corrected this and my Plugin Manager issues. But they probably aren't related to this one.
  18. Not if you used the right-click menu. This gets me now and then when I accidently click Hide Track instead of Narrow Strip in Console View. Hit the H key or in the Track View menu, go to Tracks > Track Manager and check the unchecked tracks.
  19. You can also replace the last character in the file type, like "xxxx.dl_" or "xxxx.dl-". I had a similar issue with BitBridge after installing X1, 2, & 3 - for no logical reason. What worked for me was to right-click the Sonar.exe file, go to Properties > Compatibility and select Run as Administrator. There should be no reason to have to do this for any program, but my issue also involved the Plugin Manager not working right for those same programs, so something went sideways during the Sonar installation processes or a Windows update broke something... again.
  20. And the red Activation required Toast note has hard-to-read black text. Should be white!

    Sonar 8.5 studio

Me thinks the OP already did... @Kim Cravens Cakewalk by BandLab is soon to be obsolete so you might look into the New Sonar demo downloadable at the bottom of this page.
