  1. There's no need to export them. You import screensets from a 2nd open project. If only one project is open, the import function is disabled. https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=WindowManagement.09.html#1260131
  2. Good to know. I don't use Workspaces so didn't know. Screensets work too. Just hit #1. 1st post edited to update the only ways I know.
  3. This is a combined Windows 11/CbB issue and there's an earlier thread about it. If you're using Windows 11 and you Minimize Cakewalk main or 2ndary window on the main screen, minimizing fails to provide the lower left Status bar to regain the view. The main window can be restored by clicking on the Taskbar CbB icon. 2ndary windows can't be restored this way because CbB does not show them when hovering over the icon. Only ways I know to restore them is to close and reopen the project or hit a screenset #. Don't know why MS hasn't fixed this glaringly obvious bug yet as Windows 10 behaves properly. Cakewalk may be able to help by making the floating windows appear next to the main window in the Taskbar flyout when you hover over the CbB icon.
  4. If it says you're up to date, you're up to date. You can also open the "Help > About Cakewalk" window.
  5. Same. Unfortunately I dug in so far I've buried myself and can't find a way out.
  6. For some reason the lower node values appear above the higher values. At certain positions they disappear altogether. This can confuse us not-so-bright users.
  7. I would think if you're using Alesis to trigger another vsti like SI Drums, it would also have to respond to aftertouch. Cakewalk DOES support it but I doubt SI Drums does. The words "channel" and "aftertouch" aren't in the SI manual.
  8. Kinda figured, but this is all i found skimming thru the manual, which didn't seem too informative. Probably a question for the Alesis forums. 57Gregy makes a good point too since these are off by default.
  9. Direct USB & MME. This was a simple basic midi track, nuthin fancy. Like I said, I deleted everything in the project so there was no tracks, vst's or vsti's, then saved and closed it, then reopened it. So something got stuck under the hood. It happens so seldom and now I can't find which project it happened to so maybe it was only a momentary glitch?
  10. Sorry mettelus, I was typing when you posted.
  11. Most drum synths chokes are triggered by a closed or pedal hat sample one or two notes away from the open hat note. The open hat note will play until the closed hat note is played. Try following note 46 with 42 or 44. pg 38 of your manual:
  12. I put the URL in Chrome and got this. Why is it legacy Sonar and why would start screen have it's own web page? On another note, why would an https site Not be secure?
  13. After the last Windows 11 update, CbB and a few other programs quit working because MSVCP140.dll & VCRUNTIME140.dll were "supposedly" not found. The files were NOT missing and were still there, and a System Restore to remove the last update fixed the problem.
  14. You can also run their installers and install just the plugins without installing the apps themselves.
  15. On a few rare occasions I get projects that immediately upon opening, lock up my MOTU micro express #1 output. Deleting all tracks so there are no tracks does not fix it. Deselecting or rerouting outputs in Preferences won't either. Closing the defective project does release the MIDI output. The constant #2 MIDI input is from an old Yamaha keyboard. Don't know why it does that but I ignore it since I don't use it for input.
  16. OK, deleting the synth and all associated MIDI tracks at the same time removes it from the Synth Rack. But deleting the synth track while keeping it's MIDI tracks retains the Synth Rack reference even if the MIDI tracks are rerouted to other synths or deleted later. So does this mean the synth is still actually in the Synth Rack? Or is the Synth Rack only a reference to the former synth? Either way the synth is no longer accessible for use, so why retain it there?
  17. Just curious why, when deleting softsynths from Track View, they remain in Synth Rack. AFAIK there's no way to include or exclude Synth Rack entries during deletion like there is when deleting them from the Synth Rack. For me Synth Rack is normally closed out of sight-out of mind, so it can get filled up with "dead" softsynths. Still on 2022.11
  18. Thanks for a great addition to CbB. Today I stumbled on several small color changes with 2022.11, so 2023.09 may have even more. Some of them make no sense or there's no reason for them to have happened and most are probably too small to worry about since CbB is now fully baked.
  19. Cakewalk/Sonar only highlights keys in the Piano Roll view when they are being played or recorded thru input, but not when the project itself is playing them. This feature has been requested in the past. Staff view is just the opposite. edited for corrections
