    Well, that's disappointing.

    Musescore 4 is out

FYI it installs: Muse Hub Background Service (c:\program files\windowsapps\muse.musehub_1.0.0.624_x64__rb9pth70m6nz6\muse.service.exe)

  4. I just heard about Hertz Drums for the first time, so I know nothing about them or the company behind them. Their site claims that the Mini Bundle is currently selling at its lowest price ($73.99) which seems reasonable. So I have two questions: 1. Has anyone here ever used these drums? If so, what do you think about them? 2. Is the $73.99 price for the bundle really a deal, or is that just the regular price? https://hertzinstruments.com/hertz-products/hertz-drums-mini-bundle/
  5. I've never owned any of the (old) Kontakt-based 8dio libraries, so I don't know how easy they are to use. But I do own a few Soundpaint libraries and they definitely are very easy to use. The GUI is well thought-out and most things are just a mouse click away. Patch load times are very short. The sound quality, however, is another story. While certainly not bad, few of the patches are what I'd call inspiring. Most sound kind of 'thin' to me. This is not a general comment about all the libraries, but just for the few I own. But based on my experience with them, I have no plans to buy more. And this is especially true for the (free) 1928 Steinway which seems way out of tune and has several notes with jarring phasing issues. There's been a lot of hype about Soundpaint -- and maybe one day it will progress to the point where its performance warrants the hype -- but I don't think it's there yet.
  6. I paid ~$41 for the original version at Plugin Discounts about two years ago. It's one of the few plugins I've bought but never used in a song. I pull it out from time to time to see if I can find a use for it, but it hasn't happened yet. There's nothing wrong with the plugin; it works fine. I just haven't found a use for it yet. But I'll keep trying...
  7. I was looking for a modern/cinematic drum library to augment NI Action Strikes (I've used most of those loops already). I was planning to get UVI Asteroid, but had applied the "SNOW" code to get UVI Qudra (which I'm really digging BTW; thanks to @Brian Lawler for posting that code!). I also picked up Aleatoric Metamorphic Movement for free which has a few very useable sounds. And both were just $6.60 (b/c I had some unused BestCoin).
  8. Thanks. I saw those options but decided against the extra effort/risk. Cheers...
  9. Version 3.1.1 is now the latest version: 3.1.1 - November 25, 2022 =================================== - New: Vectorscope stereo analyzer for PanShaper and WidthShaper. - Improved: Your ShaperBox 1/2 custom presets can now be synced to ShaperBox 3. To use the feature, open ShaperBox 1 or 2 and select Sync from the Main Menu (three lines icon). Next open ShaperBox 3 and click the Sync button in the top bar (or via Main Menu). Your synced presets will appear in the My Presets area, prefixed "SB1" or "SB2". If you delete/alter/rename them in ShaperBox 3, they remain visible and unchanged in ShaperBox 1/2. - Improved: NoiseShaper's noise download dialog will not be shown again once cancelled. - Fixed: Oscilloscope Tool was not resized when the Global Audio Trigger panel was open. - Fixed: If the plugin was loaded while a selected MIDI device port was unavailable, the plugin internally defaulted to DAW MIDI, causing unexpected results.
  10. I almost made it all the way, but my CC was declined at the very last step. Oh well...
  11. That's what we thought too when we first landed on Earth.
  12. I don't think anyone on this forum would ever actually think such a crazy thought! 😁
  13. Short answer: I find the GUI to be extremely frustrating to use, especially the controls which are very fiddly, counter-intuitive, and often poorly labeled. There are huge differences in sound level among the instruments (as much as 15-20dB). And the library is not nearly as versatile as I had hoped (which is truly disappointing given my only expectation was to use it as 'melody support' where I'd layer it under certain vocal melodies to produce a fuller sound). Long answer: Atlantis 2 was the first Kontakt library I bought a la carte (I have many others, but they're part of Komplete 13 UCE). I don't care for Kontakt and, up until now, I'd just load a library, select an instrument, close the GUI and never even think about making any adjustments; I would do all that in Cubase. However with Atlantis 2 it does seem that to get what you want you do have to interact with the GUI a bit. And as I mentioned above, it's very difficult given the way the controls are set up. I also had hoped there'd be more 'playable' instruments vs fixed vocal lines/phrases. And much of the playable content is somewhat timbrally homogenous. To be clear, the three voices are hauntingly beautiful, and that makes it even more frustrating because I don't feel I can get them to do what I want. Of all the vocal libraries I own (some of which are Kontakt-based), this one is the most unresponsive and inconsistently responsive; and this is only exacerbated by the huge variation in sound level among the instruments/patches. Bottom line, if I knew everything I mentioned above before purchasing the library, I would have passed.
  14. This year my focus was vocals: Synthesizer V Studio Pro (love it!) Dreamtronics Natalie (love it!) Eclipsed Sounds Solaria (love it!) Zero-G Ethera Gold Atlantis 2 (hate it!)
  15. You can still right-click on the video and paste the URL into your browser, which I did: Björk - It's Oh So Quiet (HQ).
  16. BTW, Synth V is no longer in beta ... ver 1.8.0 has been released.
  17. https://www.waves.com/plugins/bb-tubes?utm_source=wnletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=cyber-monday-bb-tubes-nl1-nov-2022#introducing-bb-tubes-analog-saturation Beautiful to Beastly Tube Saturation You’ve never heard anything like this. Huge-sounding tube saturation which makes any vocal or instrument jump out of the speakers. From delicate to aggressive analog brilliance, BB Tubes makes your mixes sound expensive and brings your music to life. It's supposedly a Cyber Monday only, limited-time intro price, but Waves will likely hold the price at $24.99 for a while.
  18. This one seems really cool for only $35! https://lunaticaudio.com/plug-ins/narcotic# https://audioplugin.deals/search/?search=narcotic
  19. Me too. Without the additional $15 off, I'm going to pass. I guess I'll just have to suffer while using the other 10,000 VIs I have. Sob. 😞
