  1. Ha! I got an email from Celemony yesterday offering me the upgrade from Studio V4 to 5.1 for what I believe is the standard price of €149!
  2. Oh, I was just about to do the opposite- what’s the story?! @John Maar
  3. @mibby I have a simple Y cable that comes out of my iPad and the two stereo outputs go into my audio interface, and from there I get stereo audio into my DAW. I have not tried getting MPE into a DAW, but I’d like to if this were possible.
  4. Yeah, but have you heard the new “real” SWAM instruments? Tenor sax, violin, oboe, clarinet, cello and flute? Wow!
  5. The two unlocked John Entwistle vids is veritable historic footage ! Worth a quick look!
  6. So, I got a nagging email from Celemony this morning extolling the virtues of version 5 - I’ve wanted to upgrade from Melodyne Studio V4 since V5 was released, there’s a bunch of stuff I know I’d find useful. Anyone know when upgrades are likely to go on sale? BF maybe?
  7. Interesting. I’ll try the plexi too, but as you say, depends what you want.
  8. What do folks think of their Marshall sims? They offer a 20 day free trial and I’ve been auditioning the Bluesbreaker for a couple of days. Although I’ve not played a real one, it does strike me as authentic- it really reminds me of an ancient Vox AC30 I owned, ahem, 40 years ago! Goes really well with my old SG. It’s great to get those tones in software, but it’s not a sound that I would realistically use in my songs these days so I am not tempted at this stage.
  9. It also bugs me that there are no standalone versions. And I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s another paid for option when it comes.
  10. I have the Nembrini MRH810, the SoundMaster and version 1 of the BST100. I use the MRH all the time, the SoundMaster quite a bit, but find I reach for the BST hardly at all. To me, it is a ubiquitous overdriven tone that I can get almost anywhere with not a lot of effort. I know I am in the minority and there are loads of folk who love it, but it does nothing for me.

    Where’s Lars

How come you didn’t send us a discount code for that free deal?!
  12. For S Gear users, I would recommend this update for the new dedicated delay and modulation presets- some great sounds in there!
  13. Thanks, superb timing as I was about to spend $25 on a course I will likely only view once. Cheers @jesse g
  14. I don't think sound wise, there's anything noticeably better then version 1 to be honest. For me, one of the biggest additions I would like is a standalone version of these amp sims. It's something they're working on but no release date yet.
  15. I must say I am a little disappointed. They said V1 and V2 were not compatible, which is a bit odd. It’s not really a big deal for me to recreate them as I didn’t have that many presets. Let’s be honest - it’s only one amp. But if this happened to S Gear (and I know it won’t), then I have scores of presets in multiple folders, one folder for each of my guitars. I honestly think Nembrini need to be careful about this, as it might seriously annoy some folk.
  16. I checked with Nembrini and it is not possible to copy your own presets across from Version 1 to Version 2.
  17. I have used this a lot, and $10 for an upgrade is in no-brainier territory for me
  18. Good to see you’re back Larry. Hope all is well. No internet sounds liberating...actually maybe it’s just cr*p! Cheers
  19. I appreciate some folk will like Bias FX2, and it is all so subjective. I agree with @John Bradley about the slowness and the constant taunts to buy more, but even more, having bought the Elite version last year I struggle to get tones I really like from it. I just don’t use it any more. Their marketing and the UI are second to none, and I am afraid I was seduced by it.
  20. As someone who knows nothing about music notation and doesn’t play live, this update doesn’t excite me. Studio One Pro has been my go to DAW since Sonar went the way it did almost three years ago. It’s funny, I kind of expected PreSonus to tempt me with some features I didn’t realise I wanted or needed, but it’s not happened this time. Generally I like to have bang up to date software for my DAW of choice, but very happy to wait for a sale to upgrade this time. The price to upgrade SO Pro is similar to the upgrade from Melodyne Studio 4.x to 5, and I think I’ll get more from that. But that’s just what suits me, the way I make music and the tools I like to achieve it.
  21. Be warned - the review will make you buy Melodyne 5! There is also a full review of EZBass
